[Amy : Narnia : Bridge]

Amy could tell her barrier was breaking, even though it held only for a moment. She avoided being stabbed by the oncoming spears until they were pulled upward and away by the gravity spell; however, they grazed her twice, leaving a nasty slice down her right arm and another down her right leg. The healing rain immediately began to mend them.

Belphagor was being attacked, and in Amy's estimate he was the lesser threat at the moment. Nick was slicing everyone, but maybe Kyla's lotus shield would hold him. Whatever happened, Amy began charging her guns, ready to fire at the specter on his back.

[Noelle : Narnia : Bridge ]

Noelle yelped belatedly as Nich's whip-blade lashed through her shoulder, turning to face the new friend-turned-foe. Confusion and betrayal soon became understanding and frustration at seeing the black shadow manipulating the Avatar. The others were quicker to act in their sobriety, but she began to let out her anger all the same.

"WE'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS, NICK FROM DISNEYLAND," she shouted. The rainwater stitched up her wounds as she stomped on the ground, lifting her arms in the process. "NO. FUNNY. BUSINESS."

Her last words came out just as a thick stone barrier rose up and enveloped Kyla's Lotus Shield, adding an extra layer Nich would have to work through.

[[Narration]]

As Nick attacked the shades of Louis, replied to simply with incessant giggles, the attacks against him were quick, violent, and unforgiving. Ice erupted from the floor with an artistic flair, like vines growing from the floor, a shell of ice shaped like a rose wrapped up and attempted to devour him inside, followed immediately by a second maw exploding from around the spiraling spindles of ice, and slamming closed around the first like a back-up attempt to cage the Avatar of Chaos in.

((Nanaki was still frozen.))

[Nicholas <> Narnia <> Castle Gates?]

As soon as he had moved, Nicholas was suddenly caught in a blast of...something. Was it water, was it ice? He couldn't tell, but it had thrown him off guard. As he stumbled, ice formed around him, in the form of a giant rose? What, was he copying the picture mage now? "WAY TO LACK CREATIVITY, YOU TWO-BIT HACK!" Nicholas roared, trying to regain his bearings. Before he could even fully recover, another layer of ice surrounded him.

"Well then, way to be a funsucker, then." Nicholas sighed, desummoning the floating Chaos sword. He stabbed his reformed whipblade into the ground, then quietly took a seat cross-legged in the snow. He pressed his fist against the palm of his other hand, and inhaled through his nose. With a quiet exhale, he could feel his magic begin to become more focused. More controlled.

Breathe in, breathe out.

[Nicholas has begun to channel some sort of magic!]

[[Belphagor : Narnia : Castle Bridge]]

[[Still Cue: Kuroi Uta]]

Belphagor roared in anguish as the fire burnt away at him, leaving his body maimed and broken, cracks spreading from one end of his body to the other. His arm melted at the elbow and fell to the ground with a loud smash, half his face was scorched away leaving but a red jewel for its eye remaining, till at last Kyle returned from the sky and slammed down into his neck, dropping him to his knee. Belphagor growled from the depths of his chest, that existed as a hallowed out rib cage.

With heaving, labored breaths, defying all possibility as the spear protruded protruded from his throat, Belphagor struggled to stand once more. He looked with tired, sunken eyes, ignoring the blood dripping from his numbed neck as he felt the warm caress of two palms upon his jaw, "Shhh," the voice hushed his trembling, "You've done well."

There was a soft touch, a pair of lips upon his head as the voice continued softly, "You're free, Belphagor. Go. Shake free the chains of pain that bind you... and rest..."

"What good is a gift that they can't appreciate? You have to make them want it."

Belphagor's body seemed to calm suddenly as he came to a deathly still. It appeared they'd won, before his wings snapped upward, trapping Kyle between, then in one powerful burst, the wings came down and sent the dragon skyward, turning into a single shimmering star next to the moon.

Nick, meanwhile continued to struggle it would seem, though it was apparently in vain. His ability to dodge the trap created by Kyla was sufficient, but he hadn't anticipated Noelle's own trap overlaying the artist's.

"WAY TO LACK CREATIVITY, YOU TWO-BIT HACK!"

With him out of the way, and the demonic dragonkin far-off in the sky grappling with Kyle, the dragoon, the rest of them had another moment to recuperate or think of a way to deal with the chaotic avatar currently trapped within the stone.

[Amy : Narnia : Bridge]

"How about we get some distance between us and Nick," Amy said. "I assume that Louis shadow thing on his back is controlling him. A little space wouldn't hurt. He's probably gonna break out soon-ish, so..."

Amy wasn't that close to Nick to start, but she backed up anyway, going as far as she could while still being within the healing rain.

"Anyone have any ideas of how to beat him without, you know, killing him?"

[Dawn : Narnia : Castle Bridge]

"The closest thing I can think of is put him to sleep, then whisper sweet love in his ear and hope he wakes up more refreshed and friendly than before. However, I think that is a fat chance of working." Dawn answered back to Amy.

She let out a sigh as the healing rain washed over her, healing her slowly. A gift from the sorceress sort of speak. However, a few were barely benefiting it. She shifted her feet, ending the bubble effect, to try something new.

~I hope this works Garuda,'~

Dawn slowly combined her own healing wind in with her dance steps. Spreading the Regen spell over time to all of the group. If it was intentional or not, it was unclear, some of the spell came through Nick's prison, healing him slightly.

Joe : Narnia : Bridge

Joe skidded backwards several feet as he landed, watching the ice demon fly up and take Kyle with it.

'Crap' Joe thought, squinting to try and keep up with the beast's movements 'I hope Kyle has some kind of plan, because that thing's too far up for me to do anything.'

At least now he could find out just what was going on behind him. He knew from the charms that Nick had apparently come back and was attacking them, but he'd been focusing on the demon too much to focus.

Turning, he saw that Nick was trapped in a construct thanks to Noelle and Kyla, with Dawn trying to cast some kind of spell on him. Joe didn't know if he could add anything, but with the demon out of range, he needed to do something.

"If that doesn't work, I could try pinning him in place with gravity."
He spoke over the charms as he moved toward the others "Or I could try knocking him out with cosmic arrest. Whatever works."

[Joe: Narnia: Bridge]

Joe swore. Loudly. And repeated it a few times. First he got hit by something, Nicholas there was attacking them now, obviously thanks to Louis once he recognized what he was seeing latched onto the Avatar of Chaos. Belphegor was up in the air, Kyle with it. Nich was suddenly contained, but he had a feeling that was going to be broken out of soon.

Joe stopped spinning his staff, the defense no longer needed considering the ice spears were not an issue anymore. He turned to the 'containment' of rock and magic. He couldn't do much about the demon and Kyle, though he was mentally swearing about that. He might be strong and fast, but he couldn't fly, and couldn't make it to that height with that speed....

Joe started focusing, building up his strength for a good, solid strike. He was gonna be ready for whenever Nich decided to pop out of there.

{James ; Leon : Narnia : Bridge}

When it came to Louis, fire was always best. James knew that all too well and it was more than evident after seeing the effects that his and Leon’s attacks had on the dragon-demon. The corsair watched as Kyle latched onto the massive beast, attacking it with reckless abandon. Before the corsair could do anything further the massive demon unfurled his wings and took off into the sky, taking the dragoon along with it. The corsair followed it’s path for as long as he could until they were nothing more than a star in the sky.

’I really hope you know what you’re doing…,’ The corsair said mentally to Kyle with a sigh as he turned his focus to their other problem. Belphagor far beyond reach and Kyle beyond help.

The gunner’s focus turned to Nich and the talk going on amongst the group. He was unsure what to do. Nich had been on their side at the approach of the bridge, but now that shadow was controlling him, which made the corsair fairly certain if they broke that control that the Avatar of Chaos would work with them again. Without knowing how to break the control though, he was as good as an enemy as long as Louis wanted him to be.

”I can try and Brier Trap him when he gets out if you think it will help. Though it doesn’t really solve the problem of breaking Louis’ hold on him,” the corsair stated, rubbing at the bridge of his nose in thought.

Leon watched as his Fira spell hit the dragonkin and was prepared to strike again when all of a sudden the beast took off, Kyle along with it, high into the sky. The gate was now clear but the gunblader knew it would be unwise to proceed inward without being sure the demon was actually destroyed. It also seemed that everyone else was focused on their other apparent opponent, Nich. Trapped as he was, the Avatar of Chaos couldn’t do much. However, he was sure the traps wouldn’t hold him for long. He refused to let his guard down as he remained focused, ready for whatever else might come next…. hopefully.

[Amy : Narnia : Bridge]

Amy turned to Joseph and James. "Those sound good. Gravity would slow him down, but I don't know about that Cosmic Arrest thing. Would that kill him or just knock him out?

"I'm thinking Gravity his butt, then Brier Trap on top of that. As long as we don't have to worry about him hurting us, we can focus on the puppet master. I've got a few Dia things I could throw at Louis. Maybe that will help break his hold–oh, I should Scan. I'm gonna Scan."

Amy cast Scan, focusing on Louis, the puppeteer.

[[Scan Results]]

As the two girls scanned and searched for clues on the specter that clung to Nick's body, information that returned was not much they didn't already know. A being of darkness that latches onto victims and attempts to enter their hearts to intertwine itself into their magical circuits and burrow deep into their soul so removal is as difficult and dangerous as possible. The only known rule to this phantom is, in order to gain control, the subject of its influence must accept the being into their heart of their own free will. Opportunistic and clever, it waits until a moment of desperation and need pushes them to a point that they can't feasibly turn down its assistance. Next to stats, it listed nothing, and for health, it listed nothing. For all it was, it seemed this thing was nothing. And like Axel when his own health had vanished, this thing was as good as dead, a ghost.

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Riku ; Earthlings ; ??? : Narnia : Bridge ]
[ Still Cue : Face It! ]

As soon as Kyle had the opportunity, he began to channel a constant Lancet Strike drain through his spear, absorbing health and mana from the monstrosity--even as it suddenly took off.

With Belphagor gone, Sora let the Mangera spell go, taking a deep breath and watching it rise, only to see an odd glow coming from its head, almost like it was covered in energy.

"Hmm," he said, staring up at the night sky, oblivious to what was going on behind him with Nicholas.

"s**t," Matthew exclaimed, watching the same thing.

"Oh, sorry, I was just looking at my results of the same thing," Sayrike replied to Amy. "Sounds sort of like the specters the other three had to deal with--but it needs to be accepted before it can actually enter the heart."

Jenny stopped playing--finally--and sighed, feeling the pressure pull off of her; as a result, however, the groupwide Haste immediately ended.

She pulled out an ether and looked at it, trying to decide if she should use it now--she needed it pretty badly--but decided to wait, just in case.

"So... we need to make sure he's not put into a position where accepting help is necessary," Riku added, remember pretty clearly how Kyle had described it back in the hangar.

"Easier said than done," Anthony muttered, letting his arms hang at his sides, the giant gauntlets still present.

"Your dancer seems to be on to something."

The sorceress, upon feeling the regenerative enchantment wash over her, had let go of her spell, and the rain had immediately ceased a few moments prior to her comment. She was staring between Dawn and the stone prison surrounding Nicholas, though there was an odd glint in her eye.

"If Jormag is corrupting his vision, then his senses are probably beyond reach now. But healing him should at least ease his mind somewhat, help him realize we're not attacking. But the dragon's corruption could still twist that--it's that spirit we need to be rid of," she said, staring around at all the tiny humans.

"It doesn't have any life force or mana of its own, so I don't know how we'd damage it," Sayrike replied.

"Of course it doesn't--it's a spell, not a living thing," the amazonian witch said, chuckling to herself. "What you need is something that dispels magic, or to flood that little prison with anti-magical energy. I could probably conjure up something with a little arcane force, but it might take a few moments. Does anyone else have something like that?"

John spoke up, raising a hand first. "I think new Joe guy said he was geared toward taking out mages, does that count?"

---

Kyle grimaced as he rushed through the night sky on the demon's back, trying to remain focused on his task. Admittedly, part of him wanted to lean back and enjoy the ride. Then, of course, he was reminded he was on the back of a murderous demon thing.

James message came through, but Kyle didn't respond--he wasn't going to lie, but he certainly wasn't going to admit his confusion. Grunting more to himself than anything, he continued to siphon off life force and mana, gripping the spear lodged into its head... and then tilted his head an inch or so, staring at his weapon as it protruded from the back of the monster's head.

Worth a shot.

With a heavy growl, he gripped the spear handle tight and yanked it backward, toward himself--not out, simply backward--aiming to force the demon's head back with it.

The spear, he figured, might have acted like a jet pilot's flight stick; it was a ridiculous thought, to be sure, but on the off hand chance that it worked, he hoped to redirect Belphagor's direction, specifically to pull him back out of the dive.

{Bobbi, Yuffie, Zell, Demyx, Red XIII .:. Narnia .:. Bridge}

Bobbi was torn between defending from Nick and attacking Belphegor. Luckily, Belphegor took off… with Kyle on his back. Much as Bobbi wanted to go help him, she couldn't fly, and she certainly wasn't leaving the rest of her friends to the raving lunatic getting ******** by what was probably yet another Louis shard. How broken was Louis, anyway?!

Better to not think about that. There probably wasn't enough duct-tape in the world.

It looked like the others had a containment plan down for Crazy McPsychopants, though. On top of that, Dawn had added her own healing spell onto the sorceress's healing rain, so Bobbi's slashed side was healing up very nicely. It probably wouldn't even scar at this rate, even though the healing rain was turned off soon after Dawn started.

Pity. I like scars.

She heard the others talking, apparently discussing further restriction of Nick, but she wasn't really paying attention. Containment was out of her league. Freeze or shoot things, oh sure, she could handle that. Bobbi decided to take the brief respite to catch her breath and recharge a little. The arctic environment they were in was helping to keep her Mana levels from draining to absolute zero, but only when she wasn't spending more than she was taking in. And she'd been spending a lot. The decision to stay out of the conversation and replenish what mana she could wasn't a conscious one, but it did seem to be a good one.

"HEY GET BACK HERE! I WASN'T DONE WITH YOU! COWARD!!!" Yuffie shouted as Belphegor launched into the air, shaking her fist irately. "KYLE, YOU'D BETTER GIVE THAT OVER-GROWN LIZARD A THRASHING FOR ME!" The Great Ninja pouted for a moment before she noticed the group that seemed to be gathered around a huge lump of rock. Where did that come from? Picking up her shuriken from where it had embedded itself into the bridge, she wandered over to the group discussing Nick containment.

"What's going on?"

"Nick attacked from behind, Noelle and Kyla have him pretty well contained so far, and we're trying to figure out what to do with him."

"Bobbi could sit on him," Demyx suggested teasingly. She'd threatened to sit on other people before, why would this be any different?

"Hey!"

Light glinted off of Nanaki's frozen hide. Despite the origins, it was still a very lovely ice-statue.

[Amy : Narnia : Bridge]

The other three. Hmm. "Kyla, Bobbi," Amy said, excluding Kyle as he was rather preoccupied at the moment, "How'd you defeat the specters?" she turned to Dawn, "You mentioned you could put him to sleep, maybe? That's worth a shot, I think, but let's see if we can just hold him in place first."

She paused for a moment, thinking. "Someone may need to have a big heartfelt talk, and Sailor Moon him into realizing what's going on. Noelle? You think you can try?" She didn't know why she thought of Noelle. Maybe it was the way she yelled at him earlier. 'We've been through this' she had said. But then, she was still drunk...

So as Amy understood it, Nick would eventually break free, James and Joseph would try to hold him, everyone else would stand by in case Nick needed to be beaten into submission, Noelle (and possibly Bobbi and Kyla if they thought this would work) would try to get through to Nick to convince him of what was going on and thus save him through the Power of Friendship, and if that failed Dawn or Joseph would either put him to sleep or knock him out.

Of course, what she understood and what takes place ain't ever exactly been similar.
