Opening his mouth, the mouse had been about to say something about how he had just known that he would look silly in the outfit when he stopped, confused by what he heard.

"This...looks great?" he asked, as if this just had to be a joke, as usual. Michi would probably burst out laughing at him any second now.

When that didn't happen, Nezumi was quite puzzled, to say the least.

So...there he was, a confused salaryman in a host's clothing, with a face nearly as red as the pants he had on.

"Y...you don't have to compliment my butt, you know..." the little manager sputtered, completely unsure of how he should feel right now. Good? Ashamed? Empowered? Embarrassed? Attractive? Silly? He had no idea.

Next thing he did know, Michi was coming at him with a cute little collar, fastening it around his neck.

What was he, Michi's little pet now? He was supposed to be taking care of Michi-kun, not the other way around!

But...it felt kind of nice...being looked at like this. It felt...kinda...right. Granted, he wouldn't dress like this often...but a little change could be refreshing sometimes.

"Th....thank you." Shinobu nearly whispered, his chocolatey-brown eyes sparkling in the light as he looked up at his star.

"What? Did you expect it to look bad? You look good. Now take the compliment as it is...a compliment." He pointed out to his manager because it was obvious that the older man didn't have any clue about compliments too.

"Goodness Nezumi-san. I'm going to tell you now you're going to have to learn to take compliments and deal with my joking around. Just because I'm playing doesn't mean you should take it personally. And as for your butt it looks good in the pants so I'm gonna compliment it." he said as he stepped back to look at everything.

"Now I sort of feel weird though...We're playing dress up and we're all guys. Mm...maybe we're just too Japanese for our own good." Michi knew that Japanese men were more concerned with fashion than Americans and other nationalities. The did have better clothes for men after all the shopping that Akihiko put him through in LA. With exception of the higher end stores. But Michi could also tell that in America, designers had to cater to heavier people and some fashions didn't translate well into...tents.

"Sooo...why don't you dress down a little Nezumi-san. While I like the clothes...My mom might wonder about them." he scratched his head and looked at the lumberjack shirt. "Hey, that's my dad's work shirt for the yard. He didn't use it much Hmm...I remember him trying to do gardening. He really didn't have a knack for that but he tried. He's working as a computer programmer at a bank now. Makes him happy I guess. You'd hardly imagine him as my dad unless you saw him and my mom argue. He's a real quiet guy most of the time."

Michi smiled a little at the memories. At least he grew up with two parents until he was old enough to live on his own. He guessed that's when they decided to call it quits once he was out of the house. Must have been hard on them sticking together for years for his sake. He could appreciate and respect them both for that sacrifice because he turned out pretty good. He was more like his mom than his dad but he had some good qualities from his father. His dad saw details in things. Even if he were modest and quiet, he knew how to see things others might not. Michi loved them both equally even though he saw more of his mother than his father.

"Once you're all dressed Nezumi-san why don't you met us in the living room. We can hang out and watch some morning Entertainment News, movies or play video games. Maybe the streets will be good enough for us to go out now. Sorry it took longer for them to clear our roads. If we were in a upper class neighborhood I'm sure we would have been first." he laughed not really bothered by the truth. He could still walk to almost any place he needed even in the snow.

He walked out of the room and headed downstairs and flopped onto the comfy chair kicking his feet on the ottoman and clicked on the TV with the remote to watch the news. Yeah, well he wanted to learn more about the industry so he ended up looking at this channel where they seemed to consolidate all the stars info, shows and other major events into one place. Helped him at time formulate new questions to ask his manager. Michi really was working hard to figure out his place as a possible star. Until his single was released he wasn't too sure what sort of reception he might get but he hoped that it would be good.

"Well...yeah..I kinda did..." Nezumi went ahead and admitted. After all, what looked good on most people rarely suited him, or so he thought. He may not realize it, but most things, in fact, looked pretty damn amazing on him. He just hadn't had anyone around to tell him as much, was all.

Smiling ever so slightly, the mouse nodded that he understood. It actually was nice, having a person to work with who complimented him. It seems he'd been mistaken. Michi-kun wasn't trying to be mean to him, he was trying to be nice! Well...he sure felt silly now. He'd really, really have to make up for his troublesome behavior...somehow.

"Is...is it weird that I...that I think this is kinda fun?" the manager said, sheepishly. With that nervous expression and pink cheeks, in that outfit, he had no idea how cute he looked. None whatsoever. The thing with Nezumi Shinobu was...when he tried to be attractive, he almost always failed. It was when he just...was...that he was the most adorable thing ever. The man had a knack for trying too hard. A knack he'd developed from a rough childhood and years of being picked on and rejected by others.

"Yeah...I'd better change." the mouse agreed, hurrying off to put the borrowed jeans and shirt back on.

Looking in the mirror, he slowly pulled off the shirt, then the pants, picking up the jeans and putting them back on. Grabbing the plaid shirt, he slipped that on, as well. The only little detail he left was the choker. Something about it was just...just...well, Nezumi didn't know what it was, but he liked it. A lot. Buttoning the shirt up all the way, he hid his neck from view so that nobody would be any wiser that the man had a bit of a thing for the unconventional neck accessory. It wasn't like anyone would be taking the shirt off of him, after all. This would be his little secret.

Pitter-pattering his way into the living room, Nezumi quietly sat down on the couch near Michi, immediately grabbing a slice of cheese and beginning to n** along the edge as he watched the news alongside his coworkers.

"Uh huh...see. You'll have to get over that, Nezumi-san." said Michi headed to the door. "Umm..no...not weird. I mean most Japanese guys like to shop. Maybe I'm just the oddball of the bunch but I've not had a ton of money to just buy cool clothes when I want. So my desire to dress up is kind of for the special occasion only. Never thought about dress up at home too much."

He laughed a little and figured that everyone came from very different backgrounds. He knew this house probably was pretty junky compared to what Yuuji was used to. Heck, he didn't know how Nezumi-san lived day to day but he guessed the man was tediously clean with a modern fashion flair in his home or apartment.

But downstairs Michi sort of vegged out. He was still trying to come to terms with the morning. It was getting closer to 6am. God. Way too early. Even the news looked early on the TV set. His eyes closed for a second wondering if he could just take a nap until 10.

"Sooo...Nezumi-san, have you figured out who my backup band is going to be? Do I get to pick these people out or does Ohayou do that?" Michi asked as he listened to an repeat interview with Azriel come on the screen.

He yawned a bit but heard a familiar sort of voice and that caught his attention. Opening his eyes, he looked at the man and blinked, "Hey, who is that guy? Man...he looks a little like Narcissus-san."

The blond pianist had been about to reply to Ryuukaze's statement, feeling a bit more safe and secure with the other man's arms around his waist... when all hell seemed to break lose.

On instinct, Naoko reached out, fingers wanting to feel Jun's pulse for himself, when suddenly he was thrown back by a male nurse of all things and shoved into the wall.

Luckily, Ryu had been behind him... well... maybe not lucky for the violinist since he had just acted as a cushion to keep Naoko from slamming into the side of the room...

Amber eyes were fixed on the body that he could barely see amongst the forest of nurses and doctors. His mind spun, emotions and fears creeping to the surface...
But the younger Oumori brother shoved those thoughts deep down... smothered the darkness inside of himself with the worries and the anxiety.
Sure, probably not the best idea since his sane-less side tended to feed on such emotions... but Yamada had told him to put on a brave face.

If not for himself than damn, he had to for Ryu... his akuma looked near panic stricken.

Lithe hands wrapped around the violinist, pulling him close, as much for his own comfort as for Ryu's own. Naoko's head leaned to the side, using his lover's shoulder as a pillow while his gaze kept focused on Jun.

If Jun died... Shou and Sai and Ko would all be hurt... now it even seemed like Ryu would be too.

If Jun died...

If Jun...

If...

Darkness swam at the edges of Naoko's vision... and he collapsed, unconscious.

Amidst the whirlwind of activity, the last thing Ryu had expected was for Naoko to faint.

Well...he probably should have...probably would have if this had been any other situation...but now? The violinist was so freaked out that he almost didn't catch his lover, scooping the blond up just before he hit the ground.

Heart pounding practically through his chest, Ryuukaze decided it would be best to just get the hell out of the way. There was nothing they could do here. The doctors and nurses would do their job and everything would be ok.
Carefully, the violinist lifted the pianist up into his arms and shimmied his way out the door, the alarms still blaring in his ears.

Outside the room, Ryu slid down the wall, Naoko still in his arms, and tried to catch his breath, looking over and seeing Yamada-san, glancing down at Naoko, then looking back. This...it was all too much. Closing his eyes, Ryu tried his best not to think about what may or may not happen. Everything was going to be alright...

About thirty-seven minutes later, the room fell silent. No more alarms or warnings, no more loud chatter between the hospital staff. They must have gotten Jun stable again! He needed to get Naoko to wake up!

Before he could as much as breathe a sigh of relief, the head doctor stepped out of the room, looking down at them with woeful eyes.

"I'm sorry..." the physician said, "I'm so very sorry."

Without a word, Ryu hung his head...and he wept.

SHOU
No escaping when I start .traeh ruoy nwo I ni m'I ecnO

Beautiful Dreamer

When Shou woke up next, the pilot was nudging him. He had slept the entire way home as did Ko it seems because he was passed out in the co-pilot seat with just a little drool on his open lips. Shou yawned and looked up at the pilot who pointed outside.

Shou glanced over and realized that it was just about sunrise and they were on the roof of SMASH. Obviously Izo spared little expense to get him home rather than have him take one of the longer methods from Narita Airport or Hanada.

He could see the older man and his party waiting outside away from the blades that were slowing above. Shou certainly didn't want to deal with Izo at this hour of the morning especially with Ko in tow but it seemed like he had no choice today.

Unbuckling his belt, he stood up slowly and then walked over and carefully unbuckled Ko's belt. The child yawned and peeked up at his uncle, "Are we there?"

"Well of course we are here." Shou said with a smile covering up other thoughts about Izo and Smash. "We are at my work, and you must be very good here and polite. Stay with me. Do not wander off or go anywhere with anyone else. This is a busy company so I don't want you to get into trouble."

The words seemed reasonable enough to Shou and hopefully reasonable enough for Ko as the boy took his hand and he helped him to his feet. "Ok...Uncle Shou."

They walked out of the helicopter and on to the pad where Izo walked up to greet them. "Long time no see. Glad your home Shou-san." he said gracefully and glanced down at the boy who had his NeKO mask disheveled but on his head. "So this is your nephew, Ko-kun. Nice to meet you." said Izo politely as he surveyed the boy.

To Izo the boy was a little small but as blond as the star that held his hand. At least he could tell by the puffy tuffs that shot out from under the mask. "I hear you are into music too."

"Yes, I am...sir." Ko said as he felt the tightening of Shou's hand. Ko guessed he shou

"Of course he is, Like Uncle like Nephew." inserted Shou not wanting for Izo to get to personal with his nephew, "Matsumoto-san, we're rather tired after all this and with the amount of bags and things in the helicopter, I'd like to get Ko home."

"Ah yes...I understand but you'll have to face your fans and some media outside on the way. Wouldn't you like to freshen up before you go down there to get the limo. And before you start anything, you know as well as I that your fans always gather here in the mornings considering You keep such an early schedule."

Shou frowned because that much was true and usually he didn't mind the fans milling about it gave him contact but today he had Ko with him. And a part of him guessed that the media there wasn't just waiting by sheer chance. However, he couldn't say that to Izo right then because he didn't want to start something with Ko at his side. "Well, that might not work well I don't have good clothes for Ko and I'm certainly not having him wait with just anyone while I speak with the press." No, Ko wasn't going to leave his side and he made it apparent.

Izo rolled his eyes then smirked, "Well, I'll have the child's division bring up something to match one of your costumes and you can drag him along with you." He flicked his hand at a man who immediately was on the phone taking care of that task. "Your fans are dying to meet Ko-kun anyway...so why not give them a taste." Besides, Izo thought it would increase the interest of the women in the fan base. Not that Shou had an problem appealing to a variety of people who were disenchanted with their daily lives but this would give them a different 'fantasy' to consider. Yes, anything to make more money.

Shou sighed knowing that getting out of this would be near impossible without a fight, "Alright, nothing too fancy. He's my nephew so something just normal. He's not a prop on my stage."

"Of course of course. So why don't we head downstairs and get this going so you and Ko-kun can make it home before mid afternoon." They started walking as men unloaded the bags from the helicopter. "I'm eager to hear your new song on NHK. And getting your next album out. You're starting in the studio next week after the New Years correct?" Izo asked as he made small talk while they walked and occasionally looked down at Ko. So this boy could play music...and compose? Mm...he wanted to hear it. Young talent was hard to find at times.

"NHK should be simple. I've already sent the music to the back up band for the TV set so they should be ready. Naoko-kun has been down with a cold so I figure using my secondary band for the TV is the smartest move and with Ryuukaze's solo career taking off, I might need a new violinist soon. But yes, I'll be back in the studio after the New Year to put the album together and Yamada-san will be arranging with productions the tour schedule. I expect we should be able to get some good venues." Talking about work would keep Izo happy, Shou knew that and less likely to start questioning his nephew who was watching everything as they walked.

Eventually, they made it to Shou's area and the costumers from his team were already at hand prepared to take care of his appearance considering he couldn't just show up in PJs and a mask. He really hadn't thought about his clothes since all the crap that happened at the end of his vacation but appearances to his fans did....matter. He sighed and Izo left him alone while they tended to him and Ko.

The child's divisions sent up several push wardrobes of boy sized clothes and proceed to search for something in Ko's size.

Yamada Haru
It's the Devil in the Details...

......What a tangled web we weave......

Haru took a deep breath when the doctor came out. The man didn't even need to say anything because Haru knew the answer. Dead. He was shocked and disappointed but life didn't always throw the cards he wanted. In fact, lately, life had been throwing way too many spades. His thought deepened as he gripped the phone in his pocket. Still no word from You...

Closing his eyes for a moment, he sent a silent pray to the ancestors above to help Hayato Jun on his journey. A life that had been way too short and underscored with violence and suffering. One that only had begun to see the world in a new light.

Maybe Shou's magic had been enough to spark that light...or not. But thinking of Shou, he felt the noodles in his stomach turn. The next part, he didn't look forward to when he next would meet his star. Haru had no intention of letting Naoko break that news.

He glanced at the weeping Ryuukaze and the unconscious Naoko knowing that either of them would only bring upon a wave of turmoil and emotions directed at his star's life. He knew Shou would take things one way, Sai another. Shou was many things that Sai was not even if both of them had certain strengths. Haru would have to mentally prepare himself and he couldn't do this over the phone. He'd have to do it in person.

"Alright, Doctor....Thank you. So what happened in there? Were there further complications?" Haru asked with a calm voice. "I'll notify the company when I return to Tokyo so the next of kin can be contacted discreetly." Haru wasn't one to break down, lose his cool or let the world turn him on end. Even though he was worried sick about You, he couldn't allow that to show. Someone had to be strong in this mess. And he obviously had been assigned to the task.

He waited a short time as Ryuukaze wept then said gently, "Ryuukaze-san, I know this is tough but we will have to go back to Tokyo. If this is over, things need to take their course and once the family is contacted they can decide their will on his burial unless his will states something different. The body will be shipped properly to his home town and people at Smash's health department can probably give updates as to when the funeral will be."

There weren't many things they could do now except see the body before they left. It seemed a little cold but...Haru did have to worry about other things such as anyone that might be after the two stars that were before him. He didn't want anymore incidents.

What a mess...what an utter cluster. Who would have guessed that for all the shots fired, the only one that would die would be from a heart attack. Way too young....seriously. Life must have pulled a Joker.

Haru backed off to let the two come to their own decisions and he watched as the nurses and doctors left doing all their procedural work before the men would come to take the body to be stored.

He walked inside, and shut the door before moving closer to look down at Jun. "b*****d...." he whispered under his breath, "You got off easy. I think he really did care for you too...but you just walked out...Dammit Hayato. I hope karma comes back on you for bailing in your next life." Haru couldn't say much more than that because his own frustrated feelings for the situation and You's disappearance were starting to bleed into his thoughts.

Turning on his heels, he left the room quickly and walked past the two stars going down the hall way gripping his phone with his hand. He needed fresh air...fresh air!

MEANWHILE...

Naoko was still unconscious, making absolutely no moves whatsoever to wake up. At this rate, he'd likely remain so until they were well on their way back to Tokyo.

As it was however, a nurse appeared and, seeing Ryu holding the unconscious man, carefully advised the violinist that it might be better if he sat in the lounge instead of on the cold floor... it being winter and all. She even promised to bring them some hot tea, seeing how Ryuukaze was obviously distraught over recent news.

Cocking his head to the side slightly, Yuuji regarded Nezumi's new choice in attire. "Well I was right... does make a lasting impression." he smiled. "Didn't think you had it in you, Nezumi-san. But Michi's right. It looks good."

He excused himself not long later, heading back to the room he was staying in at the Tanaka's and checking his email. There were multiple ones from various members of the board... all wondering why the hell he was calling the shots.

Time for yet another... conference call.

No doubt when Nezumi headed downstairs to watch television with Michi, he would've overheard the young man seemingly yelling to himself...

"Because someone has to make decisions while..." Yuuji rolled his eyes, pausing as the voice on the other end of the Bluetooth reamed into him about proper channels. "I've gone through the proper channels, Katsuyuki-san. In fact, I... no... no I've got the chairman's signature on my work. At the rate Ohayou's finances are being distributed we'd be shut down within a month. I've personally looked over the books myself and... no... only fired interns... cut a few salaries but it's only a temp.... sir, I agree with you but he's on personal leave for... I will not drag him into the office. Neither will the chairman. No, look... look! I'll have the paperwork faxed to your residences this afternoon. I'm more than capable of hand... my qualifications are for Koyasu-san alone to know. I'll not discuss his decisions on this matter with you just because you own stock and have a seat on the board. As long as Koyasu-san is alive he is still in charge of his empire and I'd like you to remember that, Katsuyuki-san. Hiroki-san will be in the office after the New Year and a meeting will be held then. Until that time I am handling the company's affairs and redirecting funds, some of which are being drawn from Koyasu-san's personal account, to keep the company stable in the absence. If you've a further problem with how I'm handling things it can be discussed with the board and the chairman after the holidays. Yes. You as well. Thank you."

Hanging up, Yuuji fell over onto the futon, staring up at the ceiling. "I hate this job..." he whispered.
Takagi would've much preferred shadowing his cousin than trying to appease pompous greedy corporate men who were angry because he was trying to keep the little people happy...

Yamada Haru

......What a tangled web we weave......

As Haru leaned outside against a column getting his fresh air he almost wanted to throw his phone across the parking lot he was so frustrated. He raised his hand and shook the phone because he wasn't fool enough to toss it. What if Shou called? What if ....what if....

Suddenly his phone made a small buzz followed by a successions of beeps. A message?! Quickly he looked at the message and saw 3 words. Are you ok?

It was YOU!!!

He texted back immediately. NO! I'm not OK! Well Yes, I am OK but Where have you been!?! Where are you!?!

His emotions were vivid on his text for a change.

Ishihara was rather grateful for the text back... even though his partner sounded, from the look of things, very angry about something.

Carefully, so as not to jar his injuries, he sent another text.

In the hospital. Bullet proof vests only cover so much. You sent back cryptically...

He sighed, letting his eyes slipped closed. At least it didn't hurt... for the moment.

"To be honest with you...we simply are not certain what happened. His body just seemed to...to be too stressed to keep functioning. Once his heart stopped, we just couldn't get it back. Believe me...we tried everything possible. If the family wishes, then an autopsy can be performed. Again, I am very sorry for your loss." the doctor elaborated, then bowed respectfully and walked away.

"Jun...didn't have any family left." Ryuukaze spoke quietly to Haru through his tears. That was one of the things the man had imparted to him on their long drive to the mountains. The drive where they had truly become friends.

Aside from that statement, the violinist really didn't have anything else to say. After Haru left, he figured he may as well pay his last respects as well. Carefully, he stood up, still cradling Naoko, and stepped into the silent room.

"Jun...I don't understand what went wrong...but...everything happens for a reason. I pray that, when you awaken into your next life, you will find joy and love. I pray that you do not suffer. I pray that, next time, you'll be a man with a soul filled with light. You will...you will truly be missed."

Tears continued to flow like silent waterfalls as the musician carried his lover out of the room. It was done. Nothing could bring back the dead. Nothing could mend the hearts of the few who cared for the lonesome, misguided singer. Such was life. Perhaps...perhaps he would see Jun again...next time he did something stupid and nearly crossed over.

Through his tears, Ryu chuckled. At least he could still, somehow, see a lighter side to this tragedy. It was all such a shame, though. Jun had held so much potential. He was going to be so great...if only this hadn't happened.

Walking to the waiting room, he sat down with Naoko, cradling the blond to his chest. He would wait for Haru...then...then they should probably just go. Naoko was too stressed already. Waiting around wasn't going to do him any good.

Besides...there were people in Tokyo that had to be made aware of the situation. The sooner...well...as soon as possible would be best...

Yamada Haru
It's the Devil in the Details...

......What a tangled web we weave......

"Hospital.... he said outloud as he looked the text. "Wait!"

His fingers flicked through the keys. Bullet proof...YOU! What the heck!? I am at a hospital too. At the town down from the mountain. It's been a horrible night. Same hospital?? What room are you in?

He turned around but didn't walk back inside yet because his phone wouldn't get reception if he didn't want to miss the message

Dark eyes glanced over to where the phone was on a nearby table. That didn't have a number on it so he began scanning the room.
Eventually, You spied a wipe-off board with what he assumed was his nurse's name and the room number.

I'll explain when you're here. Room 302 Ishihara sent back in a text before letting the phone fall into his lap.

It was damn hard to text with one hand...

Sighing, You closed his eyes and just tried to relax. Haru was alive... he hadn't ******** up as bad as he had feared.
