"Well I didn't want to see you and did that make a difference? I believe it didn't." Him? He took to leaning against the wall near the door, turning to the patience inherent in his people. He could wait all day and not care at all about it. Ah the patience of elves...well when he had nothing better to do with his time anyway.

So a leg propped back against the wall and crossing his arms, looking about a moment, Nym taking to idly walking his shoulders in his own game of some sorts, occssionally chewing at Sevilin's bangs

She watched him for a little bit, growing bored and exasperated quite quickly. She didn't like sitting around and doing nothing all day. Besides just being in the same room with that irritating Drow was bad. It caused her to say and do things that surprised and shocked her and she dind't like being surprised or shocked. That confused her which in turn pissed her off and caused her to be mean. She always knew when it was coming and it always had the same effect on her. Bad. She tapped her foot for a moment and finally shook her head and walked into the dining room, nodding to Malik and Piper. "Sev's here." she said nonchalantly.

Malik was bandaged, and after cursing up a storm at the Imp tugging on his hair and kicking the other one away, just sat in the kitchen. Malik prefered not to use magical means to heal unless absolutely needed. though minor healing he allowed this time for his legs, just to put the muscles back where they were supposed to be, and let them heal on her own. Piper, however, was good as new, cleric resources being what they are they prefered to use magic to heal her as opposed to prodding and getting backhanded or worse.

Malik's legs were badaged but still obviously distorted from tore muscle and his chest was mostly wrapped as well, a bowl of water with a rage buy it that he used to clean his mouth of blood on occasion.

"Is he now. let him in and see what he wants."

Malik's voice was a bit raspy, the puncture in his lung healed some but not enough really and his bone reset.

Onyx shrugged lightly.

"Wounds and injuries I know we can handle, we've been around father and nailah to know about salves and elixirs and the like for injuries and minor colds and flu. I'm talking about a more serious virus or something similar to that."

A slight smirk.

"Concern for one's twin when they are doing something potential dangerous to thier own health is common. the things you'll be handling are a lot more dangerous than a sword, and more evasive than a ghost."

Hypocrite. He didn't like the whole magic heal thing and he knew she didn't fancy it too much either. Though the point was they wouldn't have to deal with her getting mean on them. Hated touching and she always would. But back to the point at hand. At some point she had shooed sadi cleric away from Malik nad took his care into her own hands. Didn't live alone for thirty something years and not learn anything. Though a roll at her eyes on the mention of Sevilin and Malik being all business about it. Though she had taken a moment to clean off her ring and put it back on.

Didn't need to fetch him, he heard well enough and hell he wasn't one to be fetched let alone by Zahara to say the least. So he pretty much just strolled in, arms still crossed, looking as bored as ever, or unimpressed, whichever it was.

A look from Malik to Zahara and then a point to the female drow in question. "That. That isn't staying with me. And may I say I don't take to kindly with a blatant form or order to have her as a tag along and unwanted house guest."

"I never intended her to stay with you, Sevilin. for her to go, learn what you coudl teach about healing runes, since obviously you would be using them. no one has a dragonkin fall on them and drag them along the ground like you did without needing some form of healing. Then, she could be returned here. and that I take it was a problem?"

He leaned forward a little bit, thought the action brought the involuntary hiss of pain.

"Or, am I incorrect in thinking that it is the rune itself, not the energy usage, that is the primary knowledge needed. the learning of how to manipulate the energy to empower them should take considerably longer, but memorizing the symbols and thier usage shouldn't."

A look to Zahara. Well see there you had it, she thought she was staying well she wasn't. Well that made him feel better now didn't it? Though attention back to Malik now. "Yeah did bang me up pretty badly and yes I've already taken care of it. But the problem was the fact that she was simply basically pushed on me. I have process and gates and barriers and what not. It's just all messy when not properly prepared and what not."

"But you're right in a sense. Its a combination of the two. She'll learn in time...though show and tell won't do much for her. As she saw already it's horribly simple and complicated at the same time. I was just making sure that I didn't have to have her around all the time. And if that was the case, well then you'd been compensating for that."

A once over to Zahara. "There you see, you're not coming back with me."

Piper merely frowned at Malik and Sevilin for making him move. But she merely put a hand to his shoulder and pushed him back in his chair. She didn't appreciate Sevilin coming in and messing up Malik's mood and what not, last thing she needed was a fight between drow.

What a baby! Both men were being babies, Malik over his little injuries and Sevilin about her being in his house. Who needed men anyway? She was sure what with her extensive knowledge of potion making she could find a way to procreate without using male hormones. There had to be a way to manipulate the system, change the requirements...something. Listen to them, talking about her as if she wasn't even in the room. She just shrugged, "I just did what I was told to do. Doesnt' much matter to me where I stay so long as I've got a clean bed and good food. Of course being in your house wouldn't get me the latter so I suppose I'm better off. By the way, here's the list of everything you need for your kitchen. Most of it's basic things since you had no food whatsoever. Feel free to heat up the stew if you wish, if you're man enough that is." Smirking she said, "Of course if you're not you can pitch it, thinking it's poisoned, up to you to take that chance or not." She glanced at Malik for a moment, dug in her bag and pulled out a small leather bag, "One spoonful in some kind of hot drink. Stir it, wait till it's dissolved. Should help with the pain." Dropping that in front of him, she nodded to Piper and then turned around and walked upstairs.

"So you want prior consultation for this kind of thing. fine, that can be handled. you'll come here, once a day, for at least two hours, and teach her everything she can learn. While I could get her out of my hair and ship her off with you. she at least keeps those damned imps occupied and out of my hair. That agreeable to you, then?"

A glance at the pain medication, and that was it. he coudl handle the pain. hell if Zahara had lived through what he had she wouldn't have even made it out of the lich's domain. A pat and a squeeze to Piper's hand though, he knew she worried.

"I don't expect her to attain your skill or power. But I at least want her competent enough to be useful in the event of your departure. Would there be anything else you wish to discuss, Sevilin?"

A roll of hsi eyes at Zahara. There she went again with her little 'you're a severly bad supply stocker' and what not. She could just shut the hell up...she's the one who decided to freaking use all his food anyway. And yes, that stew, he'd be getting rid of it...of course he didn't trust it Lloth only knew what was in it. But a gesture to her as she left. "You see how she is?"

Let's run that through our head shall we? He had to come here everyday...to train little miss difficult for two hours. In a way it could be fun to put her through grueling training...yet annoying that he had to live by someone else's schedule, what with his newfoudnd expressable freedom.

"Very well then, I can deal with that." At least for a while...if he ever got tired of goign back and forht he could always lock her up in his place till he deemed her trainging level suitable. "She'll b***h but that will be your problem." Because oh the pushing he would do to get her to freaking learn things. "One more thing I guess...when am I going to get paid...as you heard earlier, someone had to go wipe out my supplies."

Business, business, business. Couldn't it all just be set aside. It wasn't a good thing in her opinion either that he talked about her friend like that in front of her...oh it would get back to Zahara eventually. Maybe she'd beat the hell out of his arrogant a**. That'd be nice to see. Yup, Sevilin just rubbed her all the wrong ways now didn't he? Though a look at the bag Zahara had pitched on the table and she took it up. Well of course she was hanging onto that. Malik had a habit of playing tough guy...she drugged him before. He may not of known but she had indeed done it several times. If so be it, she'd do it again.

"Pay. very well."

A snap of fingers, and servants came and set a display on the table. the first was a large bag of coin, the second we a small bag of blue diamonds, and the third was a bag of little crystal globes.

"which form of payment woudl you prefer, Sevilin?"

which indeed. was the bag of coins holding more worth than the diamonds, and what exactly were those globes. were they something of value, or somethign easily created that might snare the unwary by thinking they were more special than they actually were?

She hadn't gone very far and heard the whole thing. So she was going ot be forced to learn for two hours a day. And just when did this start taking place? She had other things to do than just be sitting there waiting for him to teach her and two hours? What if the mood struck her to be off somewhere else? She'd get in trouble. She could answer that right now. Of course at Sev's comment she called in, "I didn't decimate your supplies. You did that very well by yourself." She did smirk at Malik's little test though. If it were her, she'd take the one she could swear by, no need in taking a risk with something you needed that badly to get even richer. That was called greed and killed elves every day.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 08, 2006 12:59 pm

Oh ho ho he thought he was slick did he? Even injured he was as crafty a drow as ever. Partly Sevilin admired that...but only the tiniest bit. The larger half of his mood was annoyed with the antic. Thus Malik got a smirk that was a cross of annoyance and perhaps admiration for his tactic. "Quite the tactic there, Malik."

But Sevilin always being the weary one went the failsafe, taking coinage over thigns that might be too fancy or things that might be more trouble than they were ever worth. BEsides if Malik played the game again who said he couldn't just pick osmethign else? Not to menton if he did grab somethign less than useless he knew how to make it less so. All part of being a rune mage to know a few money gaining tricks up his sleeve.

Though is attention yanked to Zahara. Lloth she was back...couldn't she like...go away and die somewhere. Thus an exasperated sigh from him. "I don't recall being the one to raid my kitchen and take to cooking as they pleased...oh and you better get yourself a good reverie Sweetheart", he knew the word just made her angry and that was fun to watch, " you'll be up dark and early ." Nice little consecending smirk at her to add in.

Piper shook her head, but only still being reather silent among the little group of drow who bickered amongst themselves. What was that about? Seeing how greedy Sevilin was or just trying to piss him off. Last thing they needed was a Master rune mage who was drow to boot angry with them. Yeah that would just be a headache.

"The sure thing. always the practicality of a male drow. but, if coin is the gamepiece, then coin is how well play the game."

Malik knew what he was doing. it wasn't about greed. Sevilin's abilities had proven he coudl do interesting things with those runes, so everything there was potentially quite valuable. but it did prove Sevilin lived by what was a sure thing when it came to dealings. not one for risks.

Malik reached over, and picked up one of the globes.

"Though I think you did mention food."

and a toss of it on the table, where it acted like a flashbomb almost. and then there was bread and flasks of water.

"the bare needs, perhaps, but enough to feed an empty stomach. and save some coin. take a few if you feel the need."

yes a little bragging and showing what he coudl have had, but he wasn't about to just rub that in. or potential piss off his hired help into working for someone else.

One of those bored looks to Malik though an eyebrow raised slightly. "And you'd know much of male drow?" He wasn't stupid, he knew Malik's life had been different from his. Which made Malik the enemy in the discussion on that note, for the 'I know how it is or what goes on' line, hit nowhere close to experienceing it all. Needless to say Sevilin had worked himself into quite the bitter creature and lived his life through a strict system of his own design. THough only now just freely to exercise that design as he pleased. Much the 'lack compensation lack loyalties' elf. Loyalties were never free, there was always something given in exchange, tangible or not.

He had learned that when dealing with someone and you didn't want trouble you went with what you knew and what was simple. Simple was always easiest to manipulate into something more grand. Risks and acts of greed only got you hurt by your own foolishness or by someone else with greater ambitions or more power than yourself.

Though that bored look remained as Malik demonstrated what his little globes could do. Though the look got tinged the slighest bit with defensiveness. "As as I told her," a nod of his head in Zahara's direction, "I can take care of myself. Be it food or otherwise." But that's what seperated Malik from Zahara...he knew when to stop pushing before he got the claws. Zahara always pushed too far, got clawed, and still didn't quit. That was going to get her killed one day...hey he might even be the one doing the killing.

Attention flittered back to Zahara though, giving her that same condescending smirk as he was strolling from the room. "Remember Sweetheart, up dark and early. If I have to pull you out of bed by your ankles and down the stairs, well so be it. I don't need you wasting my time."

Yes...particularly annoying with a condescending attitude and absolute paranoid aura about him. That hit the mark pretty well. And still, she wasn't liking him anymore than she had before. Though she did shake her head again at Malik's little show and tell...she knew he liked to push far enough to put someone on edge but never over. It was like a game to him. And where she would usually protest, she didn't...why? Because they were drow that's why. It was nothing but natural for them to test limits of others and tempt dangers. It was irritating sometimes.

"I know more than you think, Sevilin. alot more. I've been slave to worse than Llothian women."

A slight grin though.

"but no need to be defensive. merely an offering. it's a long walk back to where you are staying, I'm sure. and as you mentioned prior, plenty of warding with your runes and spells and preperations. less time spent gathering supplies is more for doing other productive things. and we both know that if you couldn't handle yourself in a precise and efficient manner, you wouldn't be standing here, or be even the first inkling of a rune mage, now would you."

That was more than enough pushing.

"But you have a home to return to, and I have injuries to get healing and a buisness to run, among other things. So if there won't be anything else, you're more than welcome to head home, unless you'd prefer the company."
