Emerald is the s**t. Hes all "RAWWWRGGGGG I"M TOUGH"
I OHKO'd Ultima in VIII..
....Still never beat Omega though *beat Emerald with one character and FF8's Omega at default level*
Cookie, get someone 9999 HP, and equip 2 Materia on them. Only 2. Keep them at full health until Emerald uses Aire Tam Storm. It will do exactly 2222 damage, giving your character lucky 7's (at 7777 HP, your character goes into a 'berserk' where it does 64 consecutive melee attacks, all hitting 7777)
There's also the W-summon Quadra Magic KoTR method, but it requires 2 or 3 Mimic materia and very good defenses to be efficient. Better for Ruby, who doesn't have Aire Tam Storm.

But you're not even supposed to be thinking about facing the optional WEAPONs until after the incidents with Sapphire and Ultima anyway, so it's not like it's gonna hinder you. lol
