Anyways, if Vent is being a pain on Vista, your best bet is PROBABLY Right Click > Properties > Compatibility > Compatibility Mode > Windows XP (SP2).

Although... I ran it before on Vista without any compatibility issues. Be sure that you've downloaded the Client program (not the server) and that it's the 32-bit edition (unless for some insane reason you have 64-bit Vista).
