{Bobbi, Yuffie, Zell, Demyx, Red XIII .:. Narnia .:. Sinking Rubble >> Solid Ground}

Bobbi readied a Blizzard spell to freeze Dani's ice walls solid, but she never got the chance.

The roar from up high—the one that wasn't from Kyle—seemed to galvanize the Heartless horde into attacking, and suddenly Bobbi found herself with a faceful of tearing claws and biting jaws. She re-routed her Blizzard to the creatures nearest as Dani's walls cascaded down. Taking a brief moment of opportunity, she launched twin Blizzard Blasts, one to each side, freezing solid the creatures unfortunate enough to be drenched and caught in her spell. The barrage of ice cut off as she ducked instinctively when something leaped over her and Kyla.

Bobbi skidded to a halt when the thing detached itself and turned into a vicious whirlwind of sharp edges, and she felt herself start to fall backwards as the snow she now found herself on shifted and caused her feet to slip right out from under her.

Three of Demyx's water clones surrounded the whirling dervish of blades at the center of the group of Earthlings, intending to intercept and turn around any of the group that accidentally wandered too close, though they themselves maintained a safe distance as well.

[Joe: Narnia: Frozen Moat -> Moat shore]

They were finally reaching shore, and Joe was...well, mildly grateful. It meant they didn't need to worry about falling into freezing cold water. Of course, they had other things to worry about. Like the heartless they were surrounded by(and which Joe kept swiping at with his staff to keep them off him and keep them from passing by him). Or that oncoming 'blaze' of lighting and possible fire. Or the person causing a ruckus on the bridge. Or the ice soldiers. Or the now arrow explosions.

Needless to say, with FUBAR on his mind, the male did a spin, his staff out, to propel heartless away once more(there were just so many of them, and some of them turned flat out hostile now). It was then that he saw something in the center of them all. Apparently an ice solider had made it through and was attacking them.

Joe didn't take that too well.

He skidded(and slid a little) to a halt, jumping up into the air and back towards the center. Even as one of the blades grazed against his flesh, drawing blood, he Air Stepped higher, the plat form of wind used as a stepping stone. He lit his staff ablaze with his magic he gained from driving with Mathy, flinging it at the ice soldier. It barely connected, the movement of the soldier making a clean hit hard, but it was enough to draw it's movements to a slow at it focused on the source of the fiery attack.

Joe came down, leg now raised and ablaze, and brought it down hard on the ice soldier's head, hearing the crunch of the force smashing into the creature, It was sent bouncing away, but Joe didn't focus too much yet on if it was defeated or merely pissed. He had more concerns to take care of.

"Keep going! We're almost at the bridge! Noelle, Amy! First-Aid detail! Keep that barrier up and keep on rushing! Don't be afraid to shove those ******** off the damn bridge if they get in your way!" He hoped, wished, prayed they'd be able to make it as he kept running with the group, now in the center and attempting to keep that part clear while the others did their thing while running.

[Kyla: Frozen Moat > Moat shore]

Kyla noted her Louis's lack of reply. It worried her.

As the armies began to attack the earthlings themselves Kyla did her best to anticipate their fire- they were just reaching the shoreline when she began to shift the shield around, blocking solders with their bladed limbs from coming closer wherever she could with the most basic of melle strikes with her Meta Slash.

Just as they met their goal, another group came up from behind them and their leader propelled himself past, over head- a dervish of bladed limbs. Something felt odd, like it didn’t register till it krept into recognition as the sight of crimson blooming on her right shoulder and on her back. It was like those overly dramatic moment sin action films when someone makes a strike with a blade, but it takes a second or more for the object in question to fall apart.
Sometime during his summersault his blades knicked her good-one moment she looked normal, then a sudden rush of air, and the next her clothes were changin color from the slashes in her tunic- and it only got worse.
Since she had to be somewhere at the center of their group to properly track and cover them, Kyla was right there when he began his deadly dance of razor blades, something that reminded her of Heavenly sword in its style.

She had no chance to block or cast, and the shield had to remain till she was ordered otherwise.
Kyla turned herself away, feeling the blades slice into her side as she protected her hands, face and book, and leaped away on the air. It would have been a fatal strike had it not been for Demyx’s water clones who moved into position intercepting them as the whirlwind continued. Kyla was able to back off and find a new position.

Her arms dropped and she checked her hands and extremedies- fine, safe, they shook but they were whole. She couldn’t say the same for her side though. Nasty nicks laced her side up and down, like a bloody pattern of crimson lace. From her belt zipper right down to her thigh. It could have been much much worse though, thankfulyl she was somewhat quick on her feet- Kyla counted herself lucky and she’d have to thank Demyx later- if they survived.

She looked up and thanked her lucky stars- the shield held! She didn’t falter! Joe’s orders came loud and clear and Kyla made to move around the enemy leader as Joe set his attacks on it.

Kyla took his advice and did just that, she shoved- hard! Some deft strokes of her pen and more basic slashes of metaphysical force swiped mercilessly at the obstacles ahead of them as they made for the bridge.
The pain got worse, but she endured-adrenalin doing wonders! they were almost there. She couldn’t afford to stop yet till they cleared it!

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Riku ; Earthlings : Narnia : Sinking Rubble ]
[ Still Cuing : Run!! ]

As they reached land, Sora gave a brief sigh of relief--the lengthened Reflect barrier had worked. Even now, though, he could feel the effect he cast upon Kyla's barrier slip away, which meant Joe's would be doing the same about now, too. They may not have been out of range, but more importantly, they were at least on stable ground, with potential cover in the trees a short distance away.

But the enemy wasn't through with them yet.

Though Sora wasn't close enough for the leader's whirlwind of attacks, other soldiers were quickly coming in from various directions--so, he concocted a plan.

Striking the ground at his feet, he cast Magnera, hoping to draw as many enemies in his direction as he could. Then, as they were being pulled, he twisted his torso into a spin, his Keyblade spewing flames as he cast the spiraling Fira he'd learned on his second journey, burning away anything that got close.

Riku was doing what he could to fend for the others on the opposite side. Parry, riposte, thrust, twist, move--the soldiers were certainly more formidable than most Heartless he'd come across, but they were still nothing more than ribbons compared to his duels with Sora. But they had to move, now.

Leaping into the air, he let out a shout as he pulled his Keyblade above him with both hands; orange energy began to appear, swirling around his blade in a maelstrom of fiery energy, and as flames enveloped the key, he descended upon one knight with a burning crash--

--summoning a handful of blazing meteors crashing down around him, destroying any other nearby soldier.

Without pause, he immediately broke into a run after landing, trying to keep an eye out. The leader seemed to be causing the most hassle, but--

"SUCK ON THIS!"

--from the back of the group, the tank of a man that was John launched himself into the air, maul in both hands and coming down on the leading whirlwind like the fist of a giant. Even through the storm of blades, he simply powered through, the attacks doing little to dissuade his heavy fall. The hammer struck the enemy--or the ground--with enough force that the ground around them quaked.

"FOR THE CHOCOBOS!"

Then Anthony immediately followed John up, his War Cry spreading through their ranks and bolstering their defense and resistance even as he dashed in from the side, ignoring what little damage he might have taken as he came in to finish whatever John left behind. His giant fists made short work of the lesser knights on the way, knocking them back or into dust.

"YEAH!"

The sudden boost of strength and defense from Dawn, indicating the use of her War Dance, came as a bit of a surprise, but the girl had been practicing--she was incorporating her dancing into an even run. An enemy attacked, and she twisted, contorted, her fans swiping to one side and the wind and her body flowing into the other, dodging, dashing, dancing, all in one amazingly not-klumsy chain of motion.

Riku wasn't one to laugh, but he definitely cracked a smile as the party continued moving forward.

"Kyla's bleeding!" Sayrike shouted from the side to the healers, hoping one of the two would notice--if not, she could always cast some curative magic of her own. For now, though, she had her three mirrors up and constantly moving, going from herself to others, blocking attacks as they could. She didn't need to go on the defensive, instead using her time and focus to keep the mirrors up and flying, intercepting as many attacks as possible.

Even as she continued to play her Haste song, the melody began to grow into something with that was both quick yet sombre, the notes flowing and weaving around not just her allies, but her enemies. While the party continued to move at top speed, enemies around them immediately found themselves moving at a fraction of their potential--the Slow was taking effect, two songs twined in one.

"Whoa, hey there," Mathy said as he wound his way closer to the Geist, Prote. It was pretty clear even to him that the strange man was beginning to fade in the sapping frost of the world around them--so he unleashed a soft Flamethrower around the Geist, hoping the residual heat would be enough to give him strength.

What in the hell roared like that?

Kyle was on the defensive, trying to keep an eye ahead. The roar had come shortly after his own, but then shortly after that, the Heartless had turned their focus. Had he triggered something? Probably, knowing his luck. But he didn't want to risk trying again, even if it would help them now. No, they needed to get moving--someone up there was fighting the Heartless, too, with some sort of... hammer? He could barely see through the chaos.

"Golz Nahl!" he shouted, and three basketball-sized boulders erupted from the ground around him, immediately taking flight and beginning to fire small pellets of stone, in assault-rifle bursts, at any enemy that approached.

Christ, I hope that weird thing in the back isn't something strong.

[Amy : Narnia : Frozen Moat Shore]

Amy had been trying to keep in the middle as much as she could while the group made their way to shore. It seemed like a good place to be; she could get to the most people that way, and leave the fighting to the more physical members of the group.

The battle was far from two-dimensional, though, and one of the soldiers jumped into the earthling group. It struck out at Kyla and Bobbi first. Demyx had summoned his clones, which helped shield them somewhat, but that attack was spinning destruction, and Amy felt the hit across her shoulder, the force pushing her off-balance. The attack was fast, and she felt another hit on her back even as she fell to the ground. Joe responded, stopping the attack, for now.

She pushed herself up, looking quickly to assess the damage. Her shoulder was extremely bruised, but it wasn't bleeding, most likely thanks to the Protect magic she cast on herself when the train crashed. That would probably be fading off soon. She couldn't see her back, but felt safe assuming it was the same.

She had a good view of Kyla getting hit as it happened. Other people probably got hit by that, too. She cast an area of effect Curaga with Kyla in the center. It was a pretty powerful spell, and Amy's magic was her strong point. The spell helped the entire group.

Anthony's War Cry, and Dawn's War Dance made her feel all sorts of awesome and buffed. Everyone was helping. John was avenging the chocobos... was she the only one who wasn't pausing to think about the chocobos? Well, she paused to think about how she was the only one not pausing to think about the chocobos, so there was that. Priorities. Cry later. Get to the bridge, fight through more heartless and ice soldiers, get to the castle gates and ask them to kindly let them in...

[ Noelle ; Kyle : Narnia : Moat Shore ]

"Oh yeah, BECAUSE THAT SOUNDS LIKE HELP AND NOT A BIG MONSTER," she thought in response to Nicholas, panicking slightly. In truth, though, she was more frustrated than anything. Of course he was here now, of course he'd show up when tensions were the highest they'd been all day--

"Kyle, Joe!" she called out over the charms to the two of them--Leader-Joe specifically. "Asshat with the wind is over there being a d-bag all by his lonesome. That roar was jackass for 'I come in peace'."

It took a second for Kyle to figure out what she meant, but when it did, he bit his tongue, though unable to resist grumbling, "Avatar of Chaos," to Leader-Joe. Otherwise, he was silent--at least, until something clicked, and his world came mentally crashing.

Ultima, you...

... can't sense the other scions anymore.

We'd have to ask them, I guess.

Kyle angrily swiped at a nearby Heartless, cursing under his breath as they began to inevitably approach the Avatar of Chaos.

This is not going to end well.

{James ; Leon : Narnia : Frozen Moat -> Shore}

The corsair continued to move, scanning the ice for cracks. However at that point they were far enough away from the crash and finally getting to shore, which meant he no longer needed to focus on reinforcement. Just as they were getting in the clear a new problem arose as it tended to. The Heartless’ attitude had changed, no longer focused on their siege, their focus now on the Earthlings as they attacked them. James now really needed to get his arm fixed, and with Joe’s call for first-aid it was the best chance he would get.

“My arm is pretty messed up! I could use some -Aaah!” his request ended in a yell as one of the Ice Soldiers blades cut deep into one of his legs, bringing him to his knees. “s**t!” he yelled out as he tried to rise to his feet only to fail. He felt the buffs of both Anthony and Dawn take effect, making the pain more bearable but was still not able to rise back to his feet.

Thankfully, he had been near the center of the group as best to support and keep an eye on the ice ahead as they crossed so he was in the proper vacinity of Amy’s Curaga which was more than enough to heal his arm and leg. He had heard the battle cries from his allies and felt compelled to include one of his own.

“DU BEKAR!!!” He yelled, not caring if anyone understood it or not. He then reared his head back and with a burst of energy unleashed a bestial sounding Ecliptic Howl which would stun any enemies that got close.

He then pocketed the elemental card and dismissed his Hexagun, focusing his energy into his fingers, crafting them in his mind into claws. The gun was great for accurate shooting, but not all that great in melee range and masses of enemies. He quickly swiped his hands side to side three times unleashing the fury of crescent shaped blades of energy that was his Wolf Fang Fist at any oncoming enemies that got near.

Leon kept moving, keeping with the group and taking out any Heartless that got in the way. It was about all he could do to help the group as they finally got off of the ice. However, the situation seemed to be worsening. As the heartless turned aggressive towards them the gunblader took out any that came at him, while doing his best to defend the Earthlings. When the Dark Ice Soldiers joined the fray, he focused more on them. Doing what he could to block their attacks as well as hitting a few with Fira spells.

[Nick? <> Narnia <> Bridge]

The onslaught was endless. Wedged between Heartless and Ice Soldiers, Nick could only bring down his sword at any opponent who crossed his path. Constantly, he could feel cuts and scrapes from the various attacks. He noticed that the Heartless were focusing less on him and more on the ice soldiers, and the ice soldiers were maniacal in their murderous frenzy.

A small glimmer of red caught his eye from atop the castle gate, and his eyes widened with shock before he spun his blade around himself to create space before beginning to make his way back towards the other side of the bridge.

As he retreated, he swung large gusts of wind towards the red glommer. He didn't know if the wind would reach the dot, but he was going to swing regardless.

Red dot bad. Red dot equals sniper which equals bullet to forehead which equals bad. Gonna need some backup for that nonsense.

[ ??? : Narnia : Forest Edges ]
[ Cue Change : Saber's Edge ]

The heroes drew closer and closer to the bridge, and all the while the strange fluctuation of elements in the forest grew closer, brighter, slowly approaching... and then it stopped.

However, after a few moments, there was a thunderous, bellowing roar, the deafening bass shaking the frozen leaves from the trees. The ground began to shake, tremors so powerful the group might have lost their footing, the heartless around them even stopping momentarily--the heroes might not have known the roar, but they did. And the tremors weren't consistent, they were more like frequent, patterned crashes, a giant's rampage, no--

--a Behemoth's.

It crashed through the last layer of frozen treeline, bucking and bellowing with what might have been fury, blindly stomping on friend and foe alike as it rushed forward without hindrance or care. It had run directly in front of the heroes, and was heading toward the bridge and the castle beyond it, but it was more an aimless rampage, shaking it's head and running, trying to do something.

But one blinding flash and powerful, shaking clap of thunder later, it stopped, eerily still, quiet... until it slumped forward, head crashing to the ground. Only now that it was still could they see the scorch marks across its lower body, the piercing icicles, daggers of stone and other gashes, but most notably, they could see the towering woman in fiery red, standing at least eight feet tall, wielding a simple wooden staff that appeared to be no more than a long, gnarled branch with an orange crystal focus at the head.

As the creature fell forward to the ground, this woman hit the ground rolling, effortlessly getting back to her feet. She seemed not to notice anything or anyone around her, be they the heartless slowly surrounding her or the group of humans nearby--nothing save the castle ahead in all its frozen, corrupted glory.

And she smiled.

Not a grin, not a smirk, not a sneer--this was a genuine, almost innocent smile, even as the metaphorical fire in her eyes gleamed, and the literal fire enveloping her shoulder and headpiece flared. As the monstrosity behind her began to slowly fade into darkness, it was plain to see: she was excited.

With a quick laugh, she quickly began to run forward, the staff vanishing. Taking its place were two steel daggers, one in each hand, and with them in her grasp, she began her dance through the enemy lines, slashing, cutting, and blasting anything that got near. Her blades and body were of one flame, a blaze that rushed in to consume in a flurry of eruptions. Mere moments later, halfway through a group, she instead became a swift and deadly arcing blast of lightning, her body vanishing in electricity that ricocheted off of enemies one-by-one--and yet shortly after, with a scattering of dust, she came to embody the earth, spikes of magic, solid stone erupting around her, even when there was nothing but snow, ice, and the concrete of the bridge to sustain her. All the while, where one might expect a grunt, there was only laughter. Her hunt was on.

Joe : Narnia : Moat Shore

Having moved onto more stable ground, Joe had been focused primarily on just staying alive and making room for the others. In the back of his mind, there was a creeping notion that he could be doing more to help out, but these things were small fry. The big monsters were inside and they were going to need all the energy they could.

Parry, riposte, feint, cut, dodge, thrust. This was second nature to him, even without the buffs. He hadn't survived for days in the wilderness on just dumb luck, he thought as he sidestepped a sword swing and gave the offending heartless a chop to it's skull.

Turning to engage a new opponent, he noticed all the heartless had stopped in their tracks.

The came the Behemoth.

Then came the Behemoth dying

Then came the tall red lady.

"OK, what the hell is going on?"
he called out over the charms, taking advantage of the pause to cast a smaller zero gravity spell "Who is that woman? And that new guy way in the back?"

[Nick? <> Narnia <> Bridge >> Moat Shore]

As he ran, Nick couldn't help but grin as he made his 'escape' from the red dot. Call me free. Doctor Scott Free. No autographs. Heh. He chuckled to himself, but realized that his moment of freedom was tainted by a rather large mass of doom charging full force down the bridge. A long string of swears echoed through the blade-wielder's head as he attempted to weigh his options.

Attacking the beast? Could in theory but would easily be trampled as well.
Run towards the red dot? Get shot and/or trampled.
Jump off the bridge?

Nick blinked, glancing towards the edge of the bridge before glancing back at the rampaging Behemoth. He cursed again, then made his way towards the edge and leaping off. As he began to feel the effect of gravity pull him down, he switched Garland's sword into its chain form and swung it full force to the bridge. The blade flew through the air until hitting the bridge, embedding itself and being tightly wedged in. Nick closed his eyes and held onto the blade with one hand, while the other aimed behind him to blast a gust of wind. The momentum from his fall as well the minor adjustment from the wind propelled Nick in an arc and he couldn't help but hum the theme from Indiana Jones as he swung.

Okay, now for the scary part. He frowned, as he began to feel the momentum slow from his swing. The blade freed itself from its resting place and returned to its normal form. Nick was now airborne and untethered, and he could feel his body's center of gravity throwing him randomly. s**t, s**t, s**t! I knew this was a bad idea! He mentally screamed, and grabbed the hilt of the large sword with both hands. Only one shot! Nick thought, launching the blade into its chained form once more towards the earth. With a loud thud, the sword struck the earth twenty feet ahead of the Earthlings. With a silent prayer, Nick focused on switching the blade back to its regular form one last time, and the chain retracted back and dragged Nick down towards land once more.

Crashing into the snow and dirt, Nick slammed into the ground full force and drove the blade deeper into the ground. His knees were shaking and his arms had began to go numb from impact. An Ice Soldier made its way towards the stunned swordsman, intending to stab him in the stomach. With a wobbly hand wave, Nick threw another gust of razor sharp wind, cutting the Ice Soldier in half.

"Did everyone see that!?" He called towards the Earthlings, hands still shaking as he fended off attacks with wind magic. Nick's legs had buckled, and he was relying on the sword to keep him upright. "Because I will not be doing it again!"

[[Narration - Sacrifice]]

The ice soldiers did not last long against the onslaught, but they lasted long enough. With blades whirling through the air and painting streaks of blue, black, and white across ones eyes they clashed with the bearers of light and were struck down, but not before striking many deep blows themselves.

They had reached solid ground once more, safe from the greedy depths of the lake, but at what cost? As the fiery amazon and the lunatic wind elemental both made their appearances, would anyone notice the nobody to the side who's empty heart was quickly failing him? With a sword arm stuck cleanly through his back and protruding from his rib cage was the flurry of dancing flames himself, Axel. With his arms out to each side holding his chakrams that had impaled the heads of two ice soldiers, his torso hovered over the artist, his body protecting her back, his actions saving the girl from 3 assassins who would have just as easily plunged their blades deep into her while she watched out for the others.

Midst the chaos, all of them had fought hard to protect themselves, but in war, you can never protect everyone. Battles could not be won without sacrifices. Was this the consequence of that truth?

[[Cue: Emil - Sacrifice from NieR]]

"You... need to take... better care of yourself," he coughed a painful laugh, black shadows dancing off his body, "If... you don't... you're gunna get hurt... and there are those that care about you... that don't want to see that happen." Axel smiled bitterly through the pain, "Got it memorized, bookworm?"

Thunderous beats, like drums upon the stone pillars of the bridge echoed as the lead behemoth changed forward towards the gate. The soldiers fought back valiantly, leaping to strike at its face, legs and sides, but to no avail, its steel-like hide was impenetrable to even the sharpest of swords.

Atir aimed, but was suddenly barraged by a gust of wind that caused her to stumble. The behemoth crashed through all the lines of the defense, but as it reached the gate there was a flicker in Atir's crystal eyes as she stepped forward onto the battlement edge once more, bracing her torso against her leg as she aimed almost straight down.

A pull of a trigger, a sound akin to canon fire, shattering of glass, a slow methodical drop in tempo from the drums of that behemoth where it finally fell face first at the gate, the giant crystalline spear forming a brand new horn that once embodied its only true weakness.

The heartless faltered, with the behemoth leading the charge, they'd swarmed the bridge, but with it gone, both behemoths defeated, even the mindless creatures of darkness found themselves stunned and unsure how to follow their instincts, if it were to pursue their prey or flee before this fortress.

At that moment, there was a loud roar, bass reverberating through every fabric of this world trapped in a torrential cyclone of ice.

High above them, in the clouds above, they could see its source, a thousand lights like stars shining through, but these were no stars. Swarms of gargoyle and wyvern heartless moved like funnel clouds of starlings dipping in and out of cloud cover.

Atir whipped her gaze to the other soldiers still guarding the battlements and their aim immediately shifted to the sky, hundreds of tiny lights blinked into the sky before equally small explosions like the sound of fireworks rolled through the clouds flashing silhouettes and shadows about aimlessly, bodies of heartless dropping from the sky with each new arrow loosed.

The reinforcements had arrived for the heartless army and they didn't come unarmed. Wyverns and gargoyles alike opened their mouths, and after a short charge, released fireballs upon the battlements, and battlefield below. Midst the cover fire, the source of the deep roar that shook them moments before entered the battlefield. Sinking from the clouds as what could only be described as colossal, a heartless, much like a gigantic manta ray floated down like the mothership of a science fiction movie.

Sparks flew between the two mandibles at its front and after a high pitch screech lighting shot forth, a pillar as large as a bus, striking the height of the castle walls, obliterating a small portion of the upper structure and vaporizing some of the ice soldiers present.

Atir covered her head and ducked down as stone and ice flew through the air and crashed into soldiers around her. Without any further hesitation, tendrils shot from her back again, stabbing into multiple soldiers, and their bodies began to deteriorate.

[Kyla: Narnia: Forest Shore]

Sacrifice continues
When did it happen?! One moment, she was being healed, the next more enemies came out of the wood work along with two undiscernible entries. But just as she was blasting creatures left and right, making ready to cast a protection buff on the group when-

Something, someone had suddenly covered her. She felt something warm splash over her shoulder, and she spun around to see none other than the dancing flames master himself. The sight was horrific to say the least. Her eyes went wide as saucers as he looked down at her with the most heart breaking smile, choking on his own blood as he spoke.

She needed to take care of herself? But the others- they-

-..there are people who, don’t want to see that?

It sounded to strange, coming from a nobody, someone with apparently no heart to speak of. Yet he said it with the confidence he knew everything about it. Maybe he did. Even if he couldn’t emotionally connect to it, that didn’t take away from the truth did it?

Time seemed to stand still a moment, before her body moved while her mind was trying to catch up. He paralyzed had her thoughts with what he said, every word dropping like a stone with such volume they would surely continue to echo inside her long after this was over. She was standing up and grabbing his side to make sure he didn’t fall down when she was babbling-

“Oh- w-w-wow, w-wait, Wait wait, Axel, N- no no! H-hey it’s ok. I got you!” she stammered, ripping another page forwards- she drew a ruby circle on her page. Casting her own version of cure- but that wound was terrible-and her healing spells were no match for people in that actual class!!

(edit fi I’m wrong)) She launched a Birn strike at the solider behind him, severing it’s arm that offensively ran through Axels chest.

“ It’s g-going to be ok! Ok?” she keep looking around, then back to him to make sure nothing else snuck up on them-“ I got this, you’re going b-be ok.”
Bookworm. In another life she hated that label, but as a nickname she liked it. As the soldiers arm disintegrated Kyla focused on her task, even as she could see death from above!

“ Y-you can lecture me all you like, when this is over ok?” Seeing the shadows wisp of his body was terrifying, he couldn’t die! what would happen, where would he go??

Kyla called them through the charms so she’d not draw attention to herself if she screamed in the forest “Noelle! Amy!! Sayrike?! Axels hurt- It’s Fatal! Hurry! I can’t cure him completely from a wound like this!” they were true white mages, she had her healing but she wasn’t sure it would be enough- not if she wanted to survive it too.
She could exchange the entire wound, damnit -she could have!- but..right then and there, Axel had preemptively made sure she’d never try and see it through.

Kyla couldn’t be certain he’d come back- even with knowledge known, they had no way to be sure it would turn out the same in theory.

She quickly sketched his image, outlines as brief and thin as she could muster in the speed required. Now she just had to circle his body- she did a little.. the pain was immediate- she felt it strike her chest, like something inside was stabbing her, but she had to take it off a little- just a little. She could handle just a little. Red bloomed from her back. Working in, as from within Axel, it worked out. If she could just repair even a little bit of damage in exchange- buy him time.

“J-just hang on! You think we don’t feel the same about you!? I still have to finish my research- I still have to find your heart- I promised Axel, I promised I’d help you find it! Just just stay with me ok?”

[ Sayrike : Narnia : Moat Shore / Near Bridge ]

The mirror-mage was struggling to keep up with everything, and was admittedly growing frustrated. Even with Joe in the lead--and she certainly didn't envy that responsibility--there was too much chaos and not enough organization. Even now, they were basically scrambling for their lives, pushing through to Louis and hoping something worked.

The roaring and quaking drew her attention, as it likely did most others, and she momentarily snapped her head forward to watch the Behemoth trample directly in front of them, only a dozen or so meters ahead. She watched it fall, watched the strange giantess laugh and start off--

--and then watched a strange man with a blade crash down in front of them, talking to them.

But before she could even react to that, a mental shout reached her--and she knew the tone before she heard the words. She searched for Kyla and Axel, quickly finding them, not really sure what she could do--she was a Blue Mage, after all, not a real healer. But she had Cura, so maybe that could do; at least, that's what she thought as she Scanned Axel to understand the damage before attempting to administer healing.

Her chest tightened, if only somewhat, as she realized there would be no stopping the billowing smoke from his body, so no Cura was cast.

"Kyla... I don't see any health indicators," she called back, including Noelle and Amy in the message in case they didn't Scan first as well. She'd seen this before--or, more specifically, seen this absence before. People, even when completely defeated, had what she could describe as 'health bars'--a defeated person's bar was empty, but still present.

Someone past the point of no return, she learned in Port Royal, completely lost their bar.

"It's not even a matter of running out of HP. His life force potential is... gone."

[[ I'm assuming when she called out to the three of them that it was only the three of them? ]]

[[Axel : Narnia : Moat Shore]]

[[Still Cued: Emil - Sacrifice from NieR]]

"Man... you have s**t for memory," Axel dropped his shoulders in a sigh as Kyla proceeded to attempt to take on damage to himself, black smoke dancing off him growing thicker with every second. He felt something well up in him one last time before he shoved Kyla away from him, "Go! Stop making more work for the others and do what you came here to do!"

The flurry of dancing flames took a knee, a few labored breaths then slammed his fist into the ground. First red cracks, then spits of magma and smoke, then in the blink of an eye fire was exploding from the earth in all directions! It covered the treeline forming a wall of fire and flowed over all the heartless between them and the bridge, incinerating all that remained in their way. Explosions continued outward into the forest and even into the shallows of the lake. It was a true inferno befitting the nobody of fire. A few more wisps of shadow trailed into the sky-

-And then he was gone.
