He's right. He knew he was going to die; and therefore allowed himself to BE killed by his younger brother! He wanted Sasuke to have the power, and wanted him overcame from darkness. It was Sasuke who killed hi; it was basically just assisted suicide. Sasuke became more powerful, and loved Itachi once again thanks to the truth being revealed. Never insult Sasuke, and blame him for Itachi's downfall.
