Once upon a time Raven was given an XM-8 Assault Rifle.

She got an upgrade when the Ace of Spades gave her a...Scar Light Assault Rifle. Or something of that nature. I derno. It made me happy face. I fell out of my arsenal phase. Practicing Naginata Jutsu just seemed to cement my preference.

Not shocking. razz Things like Deadliest Warrior make me fall in love with ancient weapons all over again.
P.S. XM-8 is actually superior than Scar-L >.> Although, Scars are some good lookin' rifles...

Don't lookit me. He gave 'em to me. He prolly gave me the Scar because he didn't think I could handle an XM-8. Sadly I was more partial to the XM-8. Gun Style in chat rooms is incredibly difficult to pull off. Only myself and two others could pull it off effectively but I was the only female.
» 25 - Prep (second prep needed for second firearm) » 15 - Fire » 20 - Impact » 20 - Dodge
It was always difficult depending on what weapon because you had to alter the style to fit how often you could realistically fire, recoil, whether it was automatic, semi automatic, etc.

I'm afraid to handle a gun because I don't know that I could handle recoil well. Maybe with a hand gun...

Recoil on handguns are brutal compared to your run-in-the-mill rifle.
Your shoulder and arm are combined to absorb recoil. Pistols have a tendency to harm wrists and hands due to the fact that's where all the recoil hits.
I'd advise the first gun you should ever shoot is a rifle, and most likely a .22 - they're easy on recoil, not terribly loud, and are usually the best way to ease someone into firearms.

I have to say and a lot of people will raise an eye brow at this, but some of my absolute favorite weaponry is native american.
Stone weaponry especially is remarkable. I find it superior in a number of ways to metal weapons. Easier to fashion, replace, wield.
My absolute favorite at this point is an oak and shale spear.

Phantom_Knight_x_ Are those suppose to stand for seconds? Posts? o.o Think of them as word quotas. Your prep is 25 words, etc.[ Raven's left hand dipped down, deftly accessing the firearm from its holster. Within her palm, the .44 Auto Mag Pistol was introduced to the fight. ]So on, so forth, etc. Except this is in real time, and you follow through with the rest of your quotas, as the other person will be doing the same. Whoever hits who first, gets the the hit point. Typically agreed and universally accepted is the first to five wins.
It's flawed in ways, as you must insert preps for magazine replacements, follow ups for recoil, preps for piercing skin, piercing armor, follow ups for after the bullet impacts.
It's a severely outdated rule and I used to push to have them revived but a group of us didn't prevail and now GS is more than likely extinct among Digichats. It'd be phenom in theory but no one really RPs with a firearm--at least realistically speaking, to pull the style off.
And I would think--at least for me--a rifle would be worse. I can handle a jammed or sprained wrist. I just hate bruises on my shoulder. Which sounds...backwards, now that I read that. I'm very weird about pain. I have a high tolerance for it either way so maybe I can handle after all.
As long as I don't get a Noisy Cricket.
Also, Legion, I'm rather glad you find preference in something so many people tend to overlook simply because they believe technology and its advances are always superior. Likewise with you, Kira. People often get wrapped up in Eastern and Western differences, they tend to forget just who all falls into that category and what they had to offer.
With Raven, I've tried to use a variant of weapons. Even her hair pins serve as poison-tipped weapons. The Gigas Blade that Overlord Zaina used is a Zweihander and can morph to a Flammenschwert. Raven's Naginata morphs into various bladed weapons. Naginata, Scythe, Glaive. The Naginata uncaps into a staff. Corvus' broadsword morphs into a short sword. Aizen's Electrum whip can unlock blades that extend and retract when the whip bends or curves. Raveena prefers a Long Bow, and her Celestial Arrow technique is fired as a Compound Bow. The Obsidian Obscurra technique is a throw-back to weapons fashioned similar to arrowheads.
You know...Rikash probably know a thing or two about Middle Eastern weaponry...

Men in Black joke, eh? Very nicely played wink I have yet to see the third one. sad
I guess it sort've makes sense with what you say about the recoil and such. I still wouldn't advise it, though. Totally up to you razz
If you can get your hands on one(No pun intended), I'm pretty sure the USP.45, 9mm, ASP(though old by most standards now), Taurus PT 24/7 and Glock 17 are all usually very light, stable and reliable hand guns with a low kick back. The Taurus PT 24/7 and Glock 17 are the only two designed for personal defense - I'm pretty sure this makes them the least out of them all. I'd say go for the Taurus PT 24/7, though. I haven't got to shoot the real steel, but it felt real good in the hand. However, Glock has the legendary name(although I think this also will mean it'll be much higher in price)
I never really looked. I personally wanna get my hands on authentic WWII guns before any other fire arm.

I could easily rp[ with firearms but the reason I do not is because... It's boring as all hell. If anyone here believes they can go against my Recon Marine RPC in a fair fight and get close enough to actually fight him without using something BS like invisibility let me know. But I wont use him anyway because the entire principle of him getting aim and windage while staying hidden due to superior training in staying hidden good luck. Boom player has no head boring.

I've been contemplating a return to my roots, playing an old school native spell warrior.
His magic would focus first and foremost on shaping his weapon from ancient primal earth magics...
But I would need to work on building an appropriate spell list that was druid themed but energy rather than nature based.

That's why in the realm of RP, I fashioned myself to be a Shaman with an affinity for Wind. It ties in with being an Earth Snake, the ability to Heal, and connections and communication with souls. Goes back to my Native American roots.
