Billy sighed, then leaned over and up against Teddy. He looked 'up' at him through his lashes and smiled.

"Fine."
Billy's shoulders sagged in defeat. He liked Teddy too much to lie to him.
"I was still mad at the way he sabotaged my day with you. I tried being nice to him like you said, but he just wouldn't have it and started with the name calling so I hexed a few candles in his pocket so Ms. Totenkinder would sense them leaving the store. It's not like i cursed him or anything and all she did was make him leave the store."
He bent over and grabbed his paper bags with his purchases.
"So i guess I didn't make the seven days."

Billy frowned.
"I'm not that[/o] big of a b***h, Teddy. I wouldn't have let it go that far. Besides, what's the worse she would have done? Called Mister Wayne? Banned him from the store? You know she doesn't do that whole eating babies thing anymore. If it started to go hinky, I was ready to step in. I just wanted to give him a scare is all."
He looked imploringly at Teddy.
"Teddy, I tried! I want it to work out! Do you think I don't want friends? I tried making the seven days but how much am i supposed to stand back and take? How much abuse do you expect me to endure without being allowed to defend myself?"

Billy seemed utterly defeated.
"I did talk to him Teddy! I tried making conversation with him and got called names for the effort! I bet he didn't tell anyone that part, did he? How can I be nice to people who just respond with name calling? Even the jocks don't treat me that badly."
He clutched his bags to his chest and sighed.
"I want to stop at Dairy Queen first. I haven't eaten yet and I feel like dive bombing a double fudge belly buster sundae."

Billy steered Teddy toward the Dairy Queen and opened the door for them.
"I would but have you ever had the food here? It makes the cafeteria chow look almost edible. `Sides, I don't want t eat too much before the big to do tonight."
He paused and looked at Teddy.
"Um, I was let back in the Magic Club, and we're having our own party away from the school's costume party."
He twiddled his fingers nervously.
"Jennifer said I could bring a guest..."

"You have to eat a meal. Not just desert." Even though that did seem really good. "Who you going to bring?"

"Well, they're having a big ol' feast at the Club's party. Th whole bonfire thing with marshmallows, s'mores, weenies, burgers, the whole works. I kinda wanted to save room and gorge myself later."
He looked at Teddy and swallowed.
"I, uh...was actually going to ask you to be my escort. That is unless my deal with Hartley blew everything..."

Billy's knees shook involuntarily the moment Teddy's lips met his, and he almost went down the second time flat out...pun not intended ya dirty minded readers!
He swallowed and licked his lips, savoring the moment and then looked from the corner of his eyes at the many patrons inside of the DQ who stared quite openly at the public display of affection between the two males. He turned back to Teddy and blushed, but smiled brightly.
"What ice cream?"
