Diana cringed a bit and chuckled to herself. She swore that Houka sounded like a 45-year-old married house wife calling her kids to dinner. Oh well, she went to the table and saw that she guessed the dish right. Taking the fork, she took a bite of the dish Houka made. Chewing softly, she looked at her with a small smile “Not bad.”This time, Houka saw fit to return the smile, which she did as she sat down. "Nice of you to say so," the girl returned, also picking up her fork and taking in a small mouthful. "You're the first person aside from myself that I've cooked for, y'know that?"
And it was the truth; up until then, the green-eyed blader had lived by herself and while most of the expenses and other responsibilities had been taken care of by Mr. D, Houka had opted not to hire a housekeeper or cook, her reasoning being that she didn't want to add to the expenses, and that she wanted to learn to take care of herself, somehow. And, secretly, she'd been wanting to do this - cook for someone else - for quite some time now.----------------------------- Miki looked at her brother and smiled “Of course Oniichan, I enjoy making food after all.” She sat on the left side of the table and waited for her brother to sit down as well.
Kai sat down eventually, nodding his thanks as he did so. "So...a salad and potato croquettes, yes?" The slate-haired teen may not have known much about cooking, but he certainly knew enough to recognize most dishes. ----------------------------- "...an all-you-can-eat buffet?" Kei turned slightly to look at Nia. It was almost certain that she'd suggested they eat here. The brown-haired girl looked sheepish."Well... this place just opened and-" she tried to defend her choice, but the amethyst-eyed teen cut her off. "Its okay," Kei began, a small smile on her face. "It doesn't look to shabby, and there aren't that many people so we're sure to get what we paid for, one way or another..." She held on to her small gray messenger bag. "At least it isn't a really fancy restaurant; we'd look out of place."
The brunette decided to make the first move and stepped past the threshold. "C'mon! Lets find a table so we can at least sit down..."((OOC:// Bonus! Beyblade drawings from my five-part Valentines's Day series! YuriyxMiki andKaixKei ^w^ ))

Miki replied “Yes, I do hope you like it though. I don’t see anything that I could make that can last. So I decided to combine the potato croquettes with some ham bits and cheese. I hope it tastes good for you, Oniichan.” she sheepishly smiled.
Deciding that Miki wouldn't move until he did, Kai reached for the serving utensils and transferred a bit of the salad and a few croquettes to his plate. He did the same for Miki - it was only fair that he did his bit in helping serve the food - and then picked up a fork and dug in.
Well, not quite. 'Digging in' would be a term to describe Takao's way of beginning a meal; Kai speared a croquette near its end with his fork, and after cutting off the long part, popped that end into his mouth. Swallowing that, he moved on to the salad, folding and spearing a smallish leaf of lettuce before popping that into his mouth.
"...pretty good," the slate-haired teen said finally, after swallowing the second bit of salad he'd taken in.
-----------------------------
Diana looked from her dish to Houka, and smirked “Whoop-dee-doo I feel really honored,” she said in a teasing voice. But it was true she thought. But it was sort of embarrassing, since a lot of girls usually cook for a guy. Deciding just now that she was really hungry, she continued her eating in silence.
Houka rolled her eyes at the brunette's teasing, and took another bite of her chop suey. If this was what staying with Diana was going to be like, well... she had mixed feelings about this.
Oh, well. Take what you can get.
-----------------------------
"...so, yeah, that's what happened."
"...and you were in?" Ruri asked, her calamari rings all but forgotten.
The amethyst-eyed teen nodded slowly. "Yeah. I guess I passed, or something like that. But enough about me and my blading career," she added. "What about you guys? What did you do or where did you go after I went home?"
"After what happened to you?" Hiromi interjected. "Kei, do you think any of us would have still been in the mood to go out or something?"
The brunette smiled sheepishly. "Hey, I was just asking, and that's the first thing that popped into my mind." She poked at her baked salmon and mixed veggies before taking a bite of both. For a buffet place, the restaurant had some pretty good dishes.
"In any case, are any of you free tomorrow? Kai-san said that we wouldn't have training; he had previous commitments, or something like that..."

Miki’s eyes brightened and smiled. She always was expectant of hearing her brother complimenting her cooking. She already knew he liked it but it was nice to hear from him just the same. Deciding to eat, she cut up her own croquette and ate as well. Her mother’s recipe was still in her dishes. She blinked and looked at her brother with mixed feelings. “Oniichan, don’t forget about your promise”. She wasn’t speaking to him but her eyes were telling him that sentence.
Kai was about to take another bite out of a croquette when he felt Miki's gaze on him. He looked up, and read the message written in her eyes. He, too, allowed his eyes to do the talking for him. "You know I won't forget; I already promised, didn't I?" Without warning, he reached over and lightly ruffled his twin's hair, as though saying I don't forget that easily, silly...
Not that he'd actually say something like that out loud...
-----------------------------
Diana continued eating until she was done. “Thanks for the meal, I enjoyed it.” she thanked Houka and went to the dish rack to get two glasses and place one on the table for her. Going through the refrigerator, she looked back at Houka and said “what do you wanna drink, Kurozuki?”
"You're welcome," Houka said in reply to her roommate's expression of thanks. She herself was only around halfway done with her meal, but it was no big deal that Diana finished ahead of her.
In response to the brunette's question - and seeing that she was already rummaging around in the fridge - the sea green-eyed teen said "Orange juice, I suppose. I know there was still some left from that convenience store bag you...transported earlier..." She didn't say 'swiped', but it was what she was thinking, anyway.
-----------------------------
Kei stepped out of the restaurant and stretched. She forgot how sitting for long periods of time and doing nothing but chatting and eating made her legs like they were getting something like cramps. Stretching helped alleviate that feeling. Feeling more comfortable now, the brunette turned to see if her companions had also exited the establishment.
They had.
"So...where to next?" she asked. The amethyst-eyed blader wanted to make up somehow for cutting the group outing short the previous night, and for making her friends worry about her.
Nia shrugged. "I dunno. But I think you should pick, Kei. We already chose where to have dinner, so..."
Ruri nodded her ascent. "Yeah, you pick, Kei!"
The brunette took Hiromi's lack of a reply as a silent agreement with the other two, and she grinned. "...then let's see if the arcade is still open." Groans and mutters of "I knew it!" came from the three other girls, and Kei chortled. "If you knew I was going to pick the arcade, why'd you still let me choose?"
"...she has a point," Hiromi said, finally speaking up. "In any case, Nia, didn't you say you wanted to try that Drummania thing?"
Nia nodded. "Well, yeah...but we went to the arcade yesterday-"
"-and you didn't try 'Drummania 10th Mix' yesterday, so you'll do it today," Kei cut in. "Come on, let's get going; my parents may be out of town, but I still have a curfew of sorts..."

Miki pouted while chewing on the croquette she had on her mouth. She decided not to get angry, since it didn’t make a difference. But her annoyance showed because of the way she jammed the fork on the half of her croquette and how noisily she ate the lettuce. Lettuce was suppose to be crunchy, but by how she chewed…it looks like her teeth were also being mashed.
Kai stopped ruffling Miki's hair; he knew when to quit, even if doing that amused him. He didn't show it, instead getting back to dinner. Soon, only a bit of salad was left on his plate, and he decided to get a second helping; it was a healthy dish, anyway, so he had no problems with seconds of that.
"Oh, yeah..." he muttered after a few minutes, getting up soon after and going to the fridge. "Miki, would you prefer apple or orange juice? Or do you want something else?"
-----------------------------
Diana nodded and took a carton of juice and poured Houka a glass. She decided to have some juice as well and poured some on her glass and drank it. Placing her dish and glass on the sink, she started to wash them while waiting for the time to past. She didn’t have anything to do anyway.
Houka merely nodded her thanks when Diana had finished pouring her juice. While the brunette was washing her dishes, the auburn-haired blader cleaned off her plate. It wasn't surprising, seeing as neither were talking; also, although she was capable of cooking, it had actually been some time since Houka had eaten anything homecooked, so polishing off an entire plateful of rice and chop suey was all right as well, to some extent.
"Murphy, you nearly done there?" she asked, getting up from the table. She wanted to wash her own dishes as well, rather than leave them there for her roommate to wash.
-----------------------------
"...a 'B'? Wow..." Kei looked incredulous. Nia had just tried out the new game the arcade had installed, and they were all viewing the results of what, for them, was one of the harder songs on the machine so far. "...although you could have gotten better, you know..." she added teasingly upon seeing her friend's semi-pleased face.
"All right, then, let's see you try!" The brown-haired teen returned, playing along. She handed the sacred soul-bearer the drum sticks that came with the game and vacated the seat supplied by the arcade management.
"Ohh boy..." Ruri sighed mockingly, while beside her, Hiromi chuckled. "Here we go again..."
It must be said that among the four, Kei and Nia were the most competitive, especially with each other; one could always issue a challenge of sorts to the other, for acceptance of that challenge was almost always guaranteed. That said, Kei took her friend's place on the seat and slid a one-yen coin in, then hit the start button. Soon, her own game was underway...

in a little more then a second pasted before sho realized that the man's blade was in the air. The blade hit the pile with such force that the pile Shinja was on exploded sending bey peices in every direction. Cerebus come back. thinking to Shinja "so this i Zeo, let me get a look?" Shinja placed her self back on to the sheath as sho put his blade back. lining up with sho, she sent him a telepathic visual of the tall green haired young man. sho asked "So Zeo, your dad made you a new body uh?" "yeah, so are we going to blade or talk all day?" Zeo said with a cocky attitude three, two, one, let it rip a child yelled from the front row. drawing his sword as fast as he could. Again it looked like it just apeared in his hand. hitting in mid air the blades grinded with sparks flying all around. once landing in the dish they broke off only to go at it in a rapid low swinging spree. Backing off a bit Zeo summoned Cerebus. "Shinja, get Zeo now." Sho screamed in his head zooming past Cerebus's blade like he was invisible. Shinja went threw Zeo's body like a ghost threw a wall. as Shinja swung back to her blade Zeo's android suit fell lifeless with out a bitbeast's control. with out commands from his friend annd master, Cerebus just sat there in a dispair. Savering the moment shinja went to full size to crush and swallow the bit beast husk that was Cerebus. as if a dark cloud came over head and lightning struck all the veiwers. they all when silent for the longest time as if they watched a God die.

Miki was still chewing the lettuce until her brother’s voice rang through her ears and looked at him from the back of her eye. “Apple juice please” she said finally, almost forgetting her annoyance. Key word. Almost
She let herself have another helping of salad like her brother and got another piece of a croquette. She decided to put some more dressing on her salad and a bit on her croquette. Miki continued to eat her meal until she finally decided to ask her brother a question “Oniichan, no one still knows I am your sister right? What if everyone thinks I am just one of your fan girls who want to battle you and get to know you in person?
Kai returned to the table, bottle of apple juice in hand, and began pouring some into Miki's glass. In reply to her question, he said "...only Murphy, Hiyomura, and that Sayka know, but I'm sure they'll set anyone else straight..." Okay, the slate-haired teen wasn't that sure; in any case, suspicious - and probably jealous - fangirls would be the least of their problems once the tournament commenced.
After pouring himself a glass of apple juice, Kai set the bottle on the table, in case either of them wanted a refill, and went back to the meal.
-----------------------------
Diana muttered a “yeah” and placed the dish and glass on the rack and stepped out of the way for Houka to wash her own dish. Stretching her arm, she rubbed her eye and said “I think I’ll go and take a shower or something. Feel kinda sleepy even if it’s still early”. And with that she went to bathroom and closed the door.
Once the brunette stepped away from the sink, Houka went towards it, muttering a "Thank you," before proceeding to rinse off her glass.
"And go ahead," the sea green-eyed teen added without looking at Diana. "Its not like I'm stopping you or anything..." Moments later, the faint sound of a door swinging shut reached her ears, and she knew she was alone. In the kitchen, at least.
The dishes were done soon, and Houka placed these in the dish dryer before going back to the bedroom. She hunted down her casual - rather, indoor clothing (a pair of dark blue long shorts and an oversize men's shirt in white), hanging them from the back of the nearest chair when she found them. Afterwards, she lay once more on the bed and closed her eyes, listening to the rhythmic sounds of the city outside. Strange how it was actually kind of relaxing when she knew it was pretty much chaotic out there...
-----------------------------
"Thanks for the night out, guys. I had fun." Kei said, one hand on the strap of her bag, ready to hitch it up in case it started sliding down again - which it had been doing for the better part of the past half hour the group had spent at the arcade.
"Easy for you to say," Nia grumbled, but her eyes were sparkling. "You kept getting the highest scores on all the games we played..."
The amethyst-eyed teen stuck out her tongue teasingly. "Not my fault you're easily distracted or lose focus and forget stuff..."
This statement made Hiromi chuckle, and Ruri grinned. The most memorable part of their arcade trip was, perhaps, when they played "House of the Dead IV". Ruri had waved the gun in front of Nia's face; surprisingly, the brown-haired girl had turned and tried to fire at Ruri in retaliation, for some reason forgetting that their weapons contained no actual bullets, even to the point of exclaiming "Stupid gun! Why don't you fire?!" At that point, one of the personnel had approached them and said "Excuse me, miss, why don't you try pointing it at the screen?"
"...don't remind me..." Nia was saying now, a half-pout on her face. "That was sooo embarassing..."
Kei laughed again, then gave her friend a quick hug. "Don't worry; I'm sure they'll all forget soon enough. In any case, I think its time we all went home; I still have something of a curfew, and your parents wouldn't like it if we all stayed out late..."
"Yeah..." auburn-haired Hiromi added, giving a slight nod. "Okaasan can go a little batty worrying after me, so I'd better go before she flies the coop..."
"Okay," Ruri agreed. "But let's meet up again tomorrow, since Kei doesn't have training. Anyone up for rollerblading?"
"Sure!" Kei said immediately. "Just don't drag me down when you trip and fall, all right?"
In the few moments it took for the blonde to get her statement, Kei had turned and run off, laughing. Cries of "Kei, you get back here!", "Gyaah! Don't do that, baka!", and "Hey, you two, wait up!" resounded above the usual crowd chatter as Ruri, and then Hiromi and Nia gave chase.

Miki gave a silent thanks to Kai and drank around half of her juice. She was almost done eating, just half a croquette and a few lettuce leaves with some crouton and egg slices. Before biting on the lettuce on her fork, she replied “How many teams are there exactly in the tournament? Did anyone tell or announce?”
Kai looked up from cutting his last croquette in half and shrugged. "By my reckoning, yours would have been the fourth to register, here in Japan. But as to the actual number, nothing's been announced."
The slate-haired teen swallowed the last of the croquette, and then his salad, putting his fork and knife down afterwards; he was done. "Gochisoosama desu," he said, the customary expression of thanks after a meal. Though he didn't show it at the moment, he was glad Miki was there. Who would have thought that, after all that had happened to them, both twins would find each other and start living a life with some semblance of normalcy? He certainly didn't; yet here he was, sitting across from his sister, feeling relatively content - a rare happening, to be sure.
-----------------------------
Diana was standing below the shower head, the lukewarm water spraying and pouring on her body. Her head was hung low so her dark hair draped all over her face. Personally, showers were her “alone” time. She liked to take it easy and think of the past memories she had stored inside her. Mostly bad memories and how to overcome it’s nightmare. She liked to think of the bad memories sometimes. Kind of weird since most people doesn’t want to remember them. But to her it was to help her realize dangers and plan how to react to them. Almost all her life, her activities were to kill, to steal, to monitor, and to protect. She killed because she was assigned to. She stole because she needed to. She monitored because she had to. She protected because she was told to.
Sighing and turning off the water, she dried herself and put on her sleeping attire. A white tank top and black shorts. Simple as that. She liked dark red, white and black clothes. It was always been like that. Her yukata in the dojos she was trained at were white. Her assassin uniform was all black. Her BioVolt status uniform was dark red and black. She was rather use to those colors more than anything. She did once wear a gray shirt though. Shrugging them at the back of her mind, she stepped out to join Houka in the bedroom and sat on the other edge of the bed, drying her hair.
Houka glanced up as Diana came in and sat on the bed, toweling her hair dry. "Done so soon?" she asked, then, not really caring if her question was answered or not - especially since she didn't mean for it to be answered anyway - the auburn-haired teen stood up, took her clothes from the chair and began hunting for her towel. She also changed her mind about the shorts, returning them and taking out in their stead a black boxers. If she was going to fall asleep at some point, may as well be in more comfortable attire.
With a final glance at her dark-haired roommate, Houka slipped out of the room and headed for the bathroom. It was her turn for some 'alone time' - well, more relaxing, at least, then just sitting on some bed listening to cars honking and other metropolis sounds...
-----------------------------
T-chk
As quietly as possible, Kei shut and locked the door behind her. As she'd expected, the house was still well-lit, despite her having told the househelp they could take the rest of the evening and the next day off - or was that the next two days? In any case, the brunette guessed both had elected to wait for her to arrive; while their concern for someone not even related to them (but their relative closeness could have rendered them cousins, at least) was touching, it could, at times, get a little irritating. Kei couldn't explain why; it just did.
As always when she suspected something of this manner, she said nothing, going upstairs and to her room immediately. They would leave soon after she got in, the amethyst-eyed teen was sure of it.
Oh, well... Kei thought, closing her bedroom door and making for her wardrobe to get her sleeping attire ready, even if she wasn't that ready for bed. After the day she had, there was nothing she wanted more than to soak in the tub - something that relaxed her, yet also energized her. It was strange that this was so, but the brunette had stopped wondering about it long ago; it was easier that way.

Miki finished around after Kai announced his response and did the same. She stood up and took her plate, fork and knife. She went to where her brother sat and took his as well. “I’ll wash the dishes Oniichan. You can go and rest if you wish” Miki reassured Kai, flashing him another of her smiles.
Taking off towards the sink, she put on the yellow apron once again and started to work. After what her older brother did for her, doing the chores was something she wanted to do to repay him.
Kai also stood up, uttering a not-so-audible "Thank you," - he was fairly certain Miki'd heard it - then headed for the living room. After collecting the blanket Miki had used, he went towards the bedroom. The slate-haired teen figured it was never to early to straighten up the beds or whatever - not because he or Miki were going to bed. It just looked neater - and to some extent, more relaxing - when it was made properly. At the moment, it wasn't, as he'd pretty much torn off the comforter getting the blanket for his twin.
-----------------------------
Diana muttered a “yeah” and continued to dry her hair. She was responded with a soft click of the door closing on her. Laying on the bed and throwing the towel on top of the lamp table in between the two beds, she laid her head down on her hands and closed her eyes to meditate for a few minutes.
Houka reached for her towel, wrapping it around her still-wet hair. She'd just finished shampooing it, and she didn't like it getting in her way when she moved on the rest of her body. Besides, wrapping it in something absorbent would help it dry quicker.
Now that she thought about it, it felt strange being back in Tokyo after living for several odd years bouncing from one place ot another - all quite far from the general Tokyo area - whenever there was any sign that Balkov had tracked her down. Even stranger to the auburn-haired teen was that she was sharing the place with someone; she'd gotten used to living alone.
Well, may as well get used to it, Kurozuki; you're not sure what you're doing after the tournament, anyway, so you may be staying here longer than you planned...
-----------------------------
Kei turned up the volume of her personal sound stystem, then popped in one of her CDs and pressed 'play'. Then she stepped into her bathroom and shut the door. As soon as she ran the bath, the introduction to Minagawa Junko's "Cruel" reached her ears.
It didn't take long - just that one song - for the tub to fill, and soon the brunette was leaning back against the porcelain, her hair up in a high ponytail so it wouldn't get wet, and humming along to "Sign", still by Minagawa.
It must be said that soaking in the tub was one of the amethyst-eyed blader's indulgences, because it afforded her some meditating, or contemplating time - or both, if it came to that, something she couldn't do properly when outside of the house and dealing with events as they came, which meant she couldn't think things through as thoroughly when compared to thinking them over at home, particular in the bath.
For now, though, the foremost question in her mind had nothing to do with Beyblading or the upcoming tournament - which had occupied her ever since the announcement had been aired on television. Rather, it had more to do with the scheduled outing for the next day than anything else - what else she and her three companions would do besides rollerblading. Her experiences so far as an actual member of a championship team - particularly those involving Kai - were there, as well, but Kei chose not to dwell on them too much.

Miki smiled to herself as her brother’s response of gratitude reached her ears and continued to do her chore. Once done, she quickly dried them and put them back at their respective places, and proceeded to the table to put the remaining food in containers to store in the fridge. After placing the salad bowl inside, she took off her apron and massaged her neck. “Never thought I could get a stiff neck after sleeping” she thought to herself.
Rubbing a tired eye, she went towards the bedroom to meet her older brother, fixing the bed. She looked from side to side and then asked “Oniichan, do you have a spare towel? I was hoping to take a quick shower before going to sleep.”
Upon hearing Miki speak, Kai looked up, and then gestured towards a small beige cabinet in the corner in reply. "All the spare towels are in there, Miki; use whichever one you like. Oh, and feel free to go ahead and use the bathroom first, if you want."
The slate-haired teen stepped back and decided to leave the bed as it was - with the corners of the comforter and coverlet both left untucked under the mattress. If Miki was going to sleep, she may have wanted to use the bed, as she'd used it the night before while he, Kai, had used the pull-out bed beside it - or should that be 'under it'?
-----------------------------
Diana continued her meditation and her eyes popped open again. She forgot to put her “alarm” on. Focusing her energy, she once again got a tap of both the twins living next door. She already told herself that she needed to guard both of them. If Miki was in danger, then Kai will be there and he is sharper than her.

Miki nodded and proceeded towards the cabinet as instructed. Opening one door, she took out a large white towel and a medium sized one. She then came to her bags and rummaged through the contents, her hand digging for a specific type of clothing. Finally pulling one out, she took out a pair of black shorts and a deep blue t-shirt and went inside the bathroom and closed the door.
Kai, meanwhile, went back out to the living room. He stood at the large-panelled windows, gazing out at the thronged streets, filled with vehicles and people rushing here and there. It was already quite dark outside, and the slate-haired teen had noticed it just then, with all the flashing signs. Little noise reached that floor, but Kai knew it was getting to be a bit loud down at the street level. He heard the bathroom door shut, but didn't bother to look; he already knew who'd gone inside.
He found it a bit...strange how he'd adjusted easily to having someone in the apartment with him. Of course, it could have been because he and Miki were related and practically grew up together (discounting their separation years) and therefore were familiar with each other. It would probably have been quite a different story if it was not Miki who was sharing the apartment.
-----------------------------
Using her elbow - which was a little awkward - Houka jiggled the doorknob, then nudged the door open; her hands were busy hanging on to her soiled clothes and keeping the towel on her head from flopping forward and falling to the floor. The larger of her two towels - the one she'd used to dry herself off - the auburn-haired teen hung on the armchair in the living room, leaving it to air and dry out.
Upon reaching the bedroom, the slightly tanned blader tossed her used clothes on top of her satchel, pleased when they landed more or less neatly where she wanted them to. And then, after drying her hair a bit more - it would have to stay a bit damp the rest of the night - Houka hung the towel on the back of the same chair where she'd placed her clothes while waiting for Diana to finish earlier.
Speakin' of Diana...Oh. The sea green-eyed girl turned to find the brunette already lying down, most likely asleep. She shrugged, then lay down herself. "Might as well..." she murmured, closing her eyes and tucking her hands behind her head, as she had earlier. "So bored anyway, I'm bound to fall asleep sooner or later..."
-----------------------------
"Haruka todoku kimi ni chikatta kotoba ga itsumademo kagayaite boku no mune no naka ni..."
Kei re-entered her room singing along to 'Chikai' - still by Minagawa Junko - quite possibly her favorite song by that particular seiyuu. Just for fun, she sat on her bed, several feet away from her open hamper, and began tossing her clothes in.
Yes! she thought, ecstatic, when all five items of clothing landed in the large woven basket - her best record so far. Maybe its the accuracy training from Beyblading... the amethyst-eyed teen thought, a small smile on her face, heading for her towel rack to - what else? - hang up her towel. Afterwards, she went to her desk and brought out her sketchpad. She was pretty much relaxed now, and as such was in the mood to draw.
The question was: what did she want to draw? She sat there, tapping her chin with her drawing pencil until, a minute or so later, it came to her, whereupon she laid the drawing pad down, leaned over slightly, and began to sketch, the scratch of graphite on paper backdropped by Minagawa's slightly rock-ish song.

Already done and dressed, Miki went out and continued to dry her hair with the medium-sized towel she took out a while ago. Thinking of the past events were rather tiresome, she was already tired anyway. She was rather looking forward to the next day. She loves sunrises, even if she never got up to see one before. Looking for her brother from outside the door, she smiled and continued her business inside the room.
The soft patter of feet on the carpeted floor made Kai look away from the window, turning in the direction of the sound. Miki, coming out of the bathroom. She was looking more or less refreshed - tired, yes, but refreshed...and probably ready for bed.
"The bed's made if you want to use it, Miki," the crimson-eyed teen said after a while. "Or would you rather wait for me before falling asleep?" This last was an allusion to when the blue-haired girl refused to get into bed without her brother to 'guard her', as she put it. She'd been afraid of the dark and strange, unexplainable noises and didn't feel quite comfortable if the two of them weren't together. Kai couldn't be sure if this was still the case now, of course, but it never hurt to make sure.
-----------------------------
Diana blinked and continued her energy transfer to both the twins, not caring if Houka was in the room. She does her business, Houka does hers. It doesn’t really matter. She knew her memories and nothing more and she doesn’t need to intrude her anymore. Unless if necessary.
Uncomfortable.
That was how Houka felt at that moment. She wasn't used to lying in bed this early - at least, her body clock was telling her it was too early - and she was somehow more alert than ever. I thought having a bath was supposed to relax you... she thought, finally getting up and padding into the living room. The auburn-haired teen decided to leave Diana to her slumber - or whatever she was doing in there - and somehow muddle through this bout of wakefulness.
Flopping into the couch, Houka swiped the remote from the coffee table and aimed it at the television, making sure to tone the volume down so only she could hear it. Perhaps if she watched a boring TV program...

Miki blushed softly. Her brother still remembered her childhood fears. Even now, she still was used to sleeping with Kai being there by her side. Lowering the wet towel to her lap, she raised her head with her slight blushing cheeks visible and gave a soft smile “Well…I didn’t want to disturb you Oniichan. But I am rather tired from what happened today.”
Miki couldn’t really say anything actually. She was rather embarrassed, how couldn’t you if you are 17 and still needed someone to at least be with you while you sleep? Pathetic. She felt really ashamed asking her older brother such a thing. But she was rather used to sleeping alone anyway but, she still felt insecure if she didn’t know the presence of her brother was there.
He had guessed correctly; Miki's face - flushed cheeks and whatnot - and her hesitant tone said it all. "I get it," he said reassuringly, gesturing towards the bedroom; He'd stay with her until she fell asleep. A bath could wait. Besides, though he'd never admit it, he'd feel more at ease if he made sure Miki was safely asleep in the bedroom than if he'd let her alone, and then be uncertain as to her whereabouts later on.

"Bye bye mama no kawari nara hoka no dareka atatte yo..."
Kei stretched. She'd been bent over for the past fifteen minutes - evidenced by the change in song artist from Minagawa to Nanase Aikawa - and she was starting to feel the strain.
But at least I got something done... she thought, glancing at her sketchpad. Placed roughly in the center of the page, was a phoenix that looked like it was rising up out of somewhere to catch a fox, who seemed to be about to pounce on the phoenix.
A bit self-centered, subliminally, but the brunette liked to think of it as another interpretation of the taijitu - or the symbolic 'yin and yang'. The tiger and dragon had already been used before, and she doubted her ability to draw a chimera, let alone a tortoise entwined with a snake, in order for the concept of opposites to work. It looked all right, in her opinion; however, even if she wanted to finish it, she was feeling a bit tired, and perhaps that was enough drawing for the day.

Miki continued blushing, but decided to lie down on to the bed and placed her head on top of the pillow. Covering herself with the thick blanket, she kept her bright crimson eyes open to watch her brother made his way to the room. Trying to stay up, but her eyes gradually was taken over by sleep and her soft breaths echoed silently through the room.
Kai watched, silent and calm, as Miki settled down for the night, her eyes fluttering closed as sleep won her over. After making sure the blue-haired girl was comfortably tucked in - he remembered their father used to do the same thing - he went and retrieved his towel and, of course, a change of clothing, then headed for the bathroom.
The crimson-eyed teen came out after around seven minutes or so; it had been just a quick yet refreshing shower, after all. Like his twin, he was in his sleeping attire - black shorts and a loose dark blue tank - and his hair was still slightly damp. Casually flinging the towel onto the back of a chair so it could dry, even just a little, Kai made his way back into the bedroom, where Miki was - to his relief - still sleeping soundly. As quietly as possible, he set up the pull-out bed, flicked the lights off, then went back - he knew his way around the entire apartment in the dark, anyway - and lay down, spreading the blanket only to around his waist before tucking one hand under his head and closing his eyes. Hopefully, sleep would come soon...

Houka stifled a yawn, then switched the television off and tossed the remote back onto the table; it clattered quite a bit, but now... Boring television programs or not, she was still feeling decidedly tiree - more than she'd been feeling earlier - to the point that she didn't care what noise she made; forcing herself to stay awake through one TV program after another - around three, by her count - had done the trick, she guessed.
The auburn-haired teen made her way back to the bedroom, and lay down once more on the bed, noticing on the side that Diana hadn't moved from her earlier position. She couldn't help wondering if that was natural for her roommate, but didn't dwell on it too much; it was inconsequential, anway. In minutes, sea green orbs had drifted shut, Houka's breathing evened out, and her entire silhouette seemed more relaxed.
She was well and truly fast asleep now.
-----------------------------
Despite feeling tired, Kei didn't want to go to bed just yet. After putting away her sketchpad and pencil, the brunette retrieved one of her favorite manga - specifically the first volume of Toujou Asami's "X-kai" - from her bookshelf, and then had flopped onto her stomach on her bed. It was her favorite - and by far the most comfortable - reading position, which she adopted for casual reading. If it were a reading assignment for school, she'd use her desk and bookstand; anything else and she was on her bed or slumped against the pillows with the book propped on her knees.
She'd already read that particular volume ten times since she'd bought it the previous week, but she never tired of it, especially when Kaito - the protagonist - unofficially adopted a kid he named Renge. It showed a different, dwindling side of human nature, a side that one was hard-pressed to find in modern society. Halfway through the volume, however, Kei stopped, marked her place, then went back to the bookshelf. She was back on the bed in a few minutes; this time, several other volumes from other manga were set in a neat pile near her. She planned to literally read herself to sleep; she was more relaxed when she did that, for some reason...

Time seem to have passed by quickly when you suddenly hear the soft chirps and songs of morning birds. Diana felt this when the light of dawn touched her eyelids. Blinking softly and focusing her gaze upon the window, a smile forming on her lips.
Tugging out of her blanket, she took out a brush to take out some tangles and such out of her hair. Once done, she took off her clothes and changed into a long sleeved black shirt with gray lines along the sleeves and black jogging pants.
Putting on a pair of rubber shoes, she took out her katana and proceeded to write a small note for Houka to know her whereabouts. She decided the best way was outside the window. Standing in front of the glass pane, slid it open and jumped down. She landed on the pole and then on the awning, then the ground. Simple as that. And she was walking along the empty, silent streets of the soon to be awakened city.
-----------------------------
Miki, who was also brightened by the light of dawn, opened her eyes and blinked them several times. Wiping some sleep off her eyelids, she rummaged through her bag to get a pair of clothes and went inside the bathroom to change. She came out, all dressed in a pair of dark jeans, a long sleeved navy blue shirt and some sneakers. She decided to head to kitchen and make some breakfast for Kai for a change.
Setting to work, she whipped up some eggs, a few strips of bacon and toast. Nothing too special since she will eat with Kai anyway. She looked high and low and finally found some juice and made a small pitcher full of the orange liquid and set the table with the plates and glasses.
Warm.
Comfortably warm fingers of sun carressed his cheek, causing Kai to blink several times before sitting up, fully awake. The first thing he did, aside from brush back the bangs that hung in his eyes, was look as the bed...and find Miki gone.
Sounds from outside the bedroom, however, alerted the slate-haired teen to where his sister was, reassuring him that all was well. He stood up and went out, making his way to the kitchen, where the sounds were originating. Sure enough, there was Miki, bustling about like last night, only she was preparing breakfast - bacon, eggs, toast, and orange juice. "Well, someone's a busy bee..." the crimson-eyed blader said, by way of greeting.

Miki turned around as soon as she was pouring the juice on the glasses. Smiling, she said “Ohayou Oniichan. I hope I didn’t wake you up”. Miki was done with pouring the juice and set them aside on the table.
Taking off the yellow apron off her body and placing it on the hook, she smiled again at her brother’s sudden greeting “You did ask me to be the cook here, Big brother.”
"That's true..." Kai replied, entering the kitchen now - earlier, he'd been standing just outside, watching. "And you didn't disturb me, Miki; I'm used to getting up at around this time."
Almost immediately, the slate-haired teen fell silent; he wasn't sure what to say at that moment. He had to wonder, though, at Miki's relative cheerfulness; she was always cheery, that was true, but she seemed...more excited, somehow. She was happy about something, but what?
The phoenix blader racked his brains, and then it hit him: his 'date' with Diana. "Na, Miki," he began, moving to sit down at the table and motioning, at the same time, for the blue-haired girl to join him. "Does Murphy know what's happening today?"
-----------------------------
Diana continued walking until she finally reached her destination in the park. It was rather quiet; well no one was still awake anyway. She had it all to herself. She took her katana from its scabbard and started to meditate for concentration. Breathing in and breathing out, she started with basic defense moves and swings.
-----------------------------
Meanwhile, back at the apartment, Houka blinked, then sat up. Was it morning already? And she felt like she'd barely gotten any sleep.
"Murphy, you up for breakfast?" the auburn-haired girl asked, rubbing the sleep from one eye, and then turning to the side of the bed Diana had occupied the night before. "...oh." She was, of course, greeted by empty space. Looks like she was going to spend at least that morning alone. Not that she was bothered by it; she had, after all, lived on her own practically half her life.
Breakfast for one today... Houka thought, padding into the kitchen. She spied the note laying on the table and caught it up, sea-green eyes moving back and forth as she read the short, terse lines written on it. And Murphy's gone to training... She put the note down and proceeded to look over the available food supplies. Finally, she got two slices of bread from the pantry, some cheese, two green onion leaves, and a slice of ham. The bread she popped into the toaster, then she took out a small pan and set it on the stove. While waiting for it to heat, she chopped the onion leaves into small pieces, and then cracked the egg into a bowl and began to beat it to a yellow froth before adding the greens to it, along with a pinch of salt.
Ham-egg-and-cheese sandwich. A fairly simple recipe and a favorite of hers. Besides, she wasn't in the mood for anything else.
-----------------------------
Kei sat up with a start when her alarm went off. Wait, no, she didn't sit up. It was more of 'raised her head up'. The brunette had to smile at herself; her tactic of reading until she was too tired worked a bit too well - she'd literally fallen asleep over her books.
A glance at the clock told her she had just enough time for a shower before she was due to meet up with her friends again, this time for rollerblading. And shower she did, coming out of her bathroom less than ten minutes later, dressed in a loose black-and-gray striped long-sleeved shirt, over which she threw another loose but short-sleeved red shirt - one she'd swiped from her dad's closet (he wasn't using it much, anyway). Blue-gray cargo pants and gray sneakers completed the outfit; her skating gear - elbow and knee pads, gloves, and of course, her skates - she threw into a camouflage-print satchel. The amethyst-eyed teen then made her way downstairs to the kitchen for a quick breakfast - probably a peanut-butter sandwich or a granola bar and some milk.
