It's been all over the news here in the UK as well. It's actually on the front page of every newspaper tomorrow. It's awful; my heart goes out to everyone involved.

I thought there were 2600 students not 25,000. Idk, maybe I heard wrong.
I agree Lara, with the 2 and a half hours between and no one was warned. E-mails went out at like 9:30 and then it was too late. You hear some of the student's stories, like the girl to pretended to be dead, the guy who stopped the gunner from entering his classroom, the professor who died saving some kids. It is terribly awful.

It is terribly awful. They though it was just a domestic issue and acted upon the information they recieved. they wanted to investigate it first. They did shut down the building. Maybe they should of sent out an email like an hour earlier though.

I feel bad for the people that died and their loved ones but i really could care less about this whole situation. Does that make me a bad person? And a funny story some one who lived in one of the apartments at my college was found to have 2 newley assembled guns in his room with ammo in his car, no clue if he was gonna use them but he said he collects guns. What makes this better is that my friend lives next door to this guy but I only use him for booze.

He was diagnosed to be mentally ill and with this diagnosis came the revelation that he could be of harm to others. Guess the docs were right about that.

That guy is scary. His photos and video was scary. I'm afraid to read his writings. I heard they posted them on the internet.

my global teacher gave us a really good lesson the day after the shootings...that was the first time that class has ever been a bit enjoyable or ever will be xp
we started off talking about tv & websites, and then we got around to american idol. She pointed out to us how we find pleasure in the humilation of others sweatdrop and what she said about the shooter being a loner or the victim of bullying was true....so moral of the story is the golden rule....
and we went on about sanjaya, who got kicked off yesterday. I'm sad because i was hoping he would win, as a fellow indian. if only he had worked a bit more on his vocals... crying

How do you feel about NBC releasing the tape and other information?
I don't know what to make of it myself. Should they have withheld it? Who is the press to decide what the public should and shouldn't see? And would it have been better if they hadn't shown it? Do we have a 'right' to know?
I don't know. They're complex questions. Journalistic ethics can be a bit scary sometimes, I'll admit.
