"Not...yours?" The large man echoed curiously, tilting his head slightly to one side as his mouth curled into a slight smile. "Then where did you acquire it?"

The giant chose his words carefully, his icy-blue eyes regarding Jack with sublime interest.

"A person who I fought with used it, so I watched, wondered and tried it out."

Turning fully around now Jack revealed his front. His black and red robe still sat upon his body, sleaves ripped off. Bandages covered all skin apart from his face, which would be his arms and revealed chest. A black and red gauntlet lay on his right hand to finish his dressing off.

The man's left arm swung around to scratch his nose, a metal hand shining gently in the sunlight, before he placed it behind him again. "Mmn..." He murmured to himself, as if satisfied with the answer Jack had given him.

Walking forward, he approached Jack...before walking past him, moving to the area behind him and crouching. He seemed to be inspecting the explosion area, running the fingers of his right hand, his flesh hand, through the sand and scorched glass created by the explosive force.

"What else can you do?" He called back to Jack, almost as an afterthought.

Jacks eyes followed the man as he walked to an explosion crater. As the man ran his fingers through the scorch marks Jack watched with a wonderous look. Quite a different man this one.

"What else? Eh, a s**t load of things. Too much to say, even though I have all the time in the world to do so."

With all of these questions, thoughts began to form in Jacks head as they did usually. Deducting all the things the man either wanted a fight or something else, the fighting at the top of the list as usual.

"A 'shitload' you say..." The man echoed, picking up a piece of scorched glass with his auto-mail hand, lifting it to inspect it with those icy blue eyes.

"Can you differentiate between an annual or perennial tree? Could you paint a portrait? Perhaps write the great Gaian novel? Can you father children, raise them in your image, and feel pride at their accomplishments?"

As the man talked of children a glare formed on Jacks face. Jack has children who have grown up to adults, but they are his no more. His wife left him and took their children with her. So with just the mention of children an anger began to rise within Jack, as his emotions are rather unstable.

"So what the hell do you want? Just to ask pointless questions or something else?"

Though Jack did not yell, his anger was clearly shown in his voice. Rather Bi-polar.

The man discarded the piece of glass he'd been inspecting, tossing it to the floor with the deft flick of the wrist, before standing fully upright, opening his arms out wide and breathing in the sea air.

"I've been in a void for a while...going through some changes." He remarked, turning to face Jack, placing his hands behind his broad back once more, his warm right hand gripping the wrist of his cold metal hand. "Thinking about the myself...and the world i live in."

He smiled at Jack, casual, seeming to ignore the anger that had welled up in him. "And in order to understand this world again, i have found that it is best to start small, and work my way up. And maybe help some people along the way as i do."

He approached Jack once more, walking to stand beside him, turning to face he direction that Jack was facing. "This power you have...how does it work? Can you explain it to me?"

"A void..?"

Jack thought to himself before listening to the question on how Jacks 'power worked'. The way the power worked was unknown to Jack, it had been with him since before he could remember. Energy stored up within him then unleashed on his call. It was a strange thing that needed many questions answered.

"My power? Even I could not tell you that. I may want to, but I can't."

"If you don't understand it, then how can you control it?" The man asked, brushing a lick of hair from his face with his auto-mail hand before placing it behind his back again. "You don't enter the deep ocean before learning how to swim. You don't perform heart surgery without knowing intricate knowledge of the circulatory system."

The man turned his head to look down at Jack from the corner of his eye. "And you don't mess with spiritual powers without knowing exactly what it is doing to you. He looked forward after that, looking over the destruction that Jack had caused so far. "Personally, i don't think it's a good idea to mess with the spiritual at all...too annoying."

He found a need to explain himself. "For example, say this power you're using isn't infinite. Say you use a part of your soul every time you use it." He shrugged, lifting his eyebrows. "I don't know about you, but i don't know what a soul looks like. I cant feel my soul. So i wouldn't know it's been spent until its...gone."

This man before Jack did have some kind of a point though. Hundreds of years ago Jack did lose most of his memory in a rather bad assault with a war hammer. When he came to he could still do what he could do before and also gained powers as he grew and grew. Maybe before the war hammer attack Jack might of been an extremely strong fighter who could use the energy extremely well, but the advanced usages are still to come to him. But to this day life had been going well for him during the use of the spiritual energy, always has.

After this little mental wave Jack returned to the mans sayings.

"I don't know where it comes from or how it happens but it does. I've been using it all my life, well the life I can remember, so I don't really think anything is goin' wrong. s**t happens, but I don't care. Life is life and I've lived my good share."

Jack responded before stretching his arms about. Sometimes loosing memory can be a ******** pain in the a**.

"Life is life...and you've lived your good share." The man echoed, a touch of sadness in his voice, almost as if it was sad that Jack didn't care anymore.

Lifting his hand - his good hand, the normal one, the one closest to Jack - the man held his palm out, facing skyward. A sharp crackle began to sound as blue static slowly laced it's way down his arm to the palm, focusing on it, building slowly. It snapped and spat in the cool sea air as a ball of electricity formed, crackling and screeching.

"Do you value your life, Jack?" The man asked quietly, watching the ball slowly grow to the size of a soft ball.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 19, 2007 1:51 pm

"My life...I've lived a pretty ******** up one, done quite a bit. Some s**t has happened, and so I've started a new life. So yeah, I have a small value in my needless life."

Jack replied as he watched the man raise his arm and form a ball of electricity energy in his hand. But Jack didn't flinch nor did he care for the ball that was being formed, instead he kept his eyes upon the man. If he was to use that ball of energy to attack then Jack would retaliate.

"And do you value yours?"

"Of course." The man replied - before the ball suddenly shot forth with great speed.

It sparked and spat energy the entire one second of it's existence in flight - before hitting the sand and detonating, showering them with sand. The area where it had exploded sparked and screeched for a moment, melting some sand into glass, before everything died down, the only sound the quiet hisssss of the sand falling back to earth.

He lowered his hand, before brushing the sand off his shoulders and out of his hair. "You said you have a 'needless' life. Why do you value your life if it is needless? Are you existing simply because you are alive?" He turned his head to blow some sand out of the crooks and crannies in his auto-mail arm. "What do you pursue? Aside from your obvious martial skills..."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 20, 2007 4:43 pm

Well that was useless in some way.

As the sand showered down Jack did not move or anything but continued to watch the man. "I'm hoping for something better to happen then just seeing friends, family and lovers die around me. Out there in the world is a place just for me to be happy in, whether it be death or something else." Jack said then realised he had not yet gotten this mans name. Quite unpolite. "So anyway, what's your name then?"

The man smiled down to Jack. "I've had many name over the years...some good, some bad. You can call me...Donner. Thats fitting for now."

He lifted his right arm, stretching it, pulling it tight across his chest. "You're a rare beast, Jack. You've lived a long life, that much is certain. I can tell from your mannerisms, the way you speak, the way you act - but you have felt the years. You've tried for a normal life, you've fought to be as 'normal' as a person can be - but longevity and immortality is nowhere near normal. I cant believe how many immortals I've met who simply don't seem to care about the years."

Donner looked down to Jack again. "You've lost loved ones. You've felt the years. And, although I'm not completely sure yet, but you seem to have the majority of your sanity intact." His eyes narrowed, shooting cold azure into Jack's gaze. "...A very rare beast indeed."
