Arrival of Mike Keenan in 1994 made for stormy times in St. Louis as Hull's personality often clashed with fiery head coach/GM. Keenan would later strip Hull of his captaincy durin' 1995-96 season.

One of NHL's most anticipated, but short-lived scorin' duos was created on Feb. 27, 1996, when Wayne Gretzky was traded to St. Louis by L.A. Kings. Gretzky would sign with New York Rangers after season.

Representin' U.S. in 1996 World Cup of Hockey, Hull was team's leadin' scorer (7 goals, 4 assists). His two tallies against Russia powered Team USA into best-of-three final where Americans upset Canada. Hull even sang a version of Aretha Franklin's R-E-S-P-E-C-T on bench.

One of great disappointments of Hull's time in St. Louis was that Blues never advanced beyond conference semi-final round durin' his 11 seasons. His last playoff hurrah came in 1998 with Blues sweepin' Kings before fallin' to defendin' Cup champion Red Wings.

Declinin' an offer from Blues, Hull signed with Dallas in July 1998, eventually fulfillin' his quest for a Stanley Cup (n', not surprisingly, doin' it in a controversial manner). He departed as Blues' all-time leader in goals (527), hat tricks (27), GW goals (70), power play goals (105), n' shots (3,367).

Here's my list of 10 best QB-Coach Combos (remember this is just opinion-based n' not meant to be written in stone, ye can express what ye feel should be right, what should be left out, n' other various conditions) 10....Bud Grant--Fran Tarkenton In his 2nd stint in Minnesota {1972-78}, Tarkenton played 7 seasons for Grant, winnin' consecutive 6 division titles n' reaching Super Bowl 3 times. Vikings lost all 3 of their Super Bowl appearances -- to 3 AFC powers, Miami, Pittsburgh and Oakland -- but Grant n' Tarkenton together won 69 regular season games n' 7 more in playoffs.

9....Jim Kelly--Marv Levy Though they never scaled NFL's highest peak, there's room on my list for this underrated pairin', which led Buffalo to 4 consecutive Super Bowl trips in early 1990s. Kelly n' Levy won usin' Bills' K-Gun no-huddle offense, which featured multiple formation calls that confused defenses n' did not allow them to substitute n' match up against potent Bills.

8....Mike Holmgren--Brett Favre Holmgren n' Favre were together for 7 years in Green Bay, 1992-98, never once missin' playoffs durin' that span. They won a Super Bowl in 1996, n' were denied back-to-back titles in an upset by Denver in 1997. But definin' legacy of their time was how Holmgren managed to tame wild mustang of a quarterback that Favre was when he arrived from Atlanta before 1992 season.
