NaoyzOrioN haha..its a very interesting point indeedMeh, everyone likes Nuriko.He have the 'sister'ly and 'brother'ly feeling. I can't bring myself to re-read the part where he died. Even Chiriko.Looking at Tasuki crying is really tearing me apart..... o.O Tasuki cries? I don't remember that part. It's been forever since I read that manga. n.n"

Yeah, when Nuriko died I cried. It was so sad. Nuriko is my absolute favorite tied with asuki and Chichiri. You can go to youtube.com and watch music videos and stuff people put together. There were a few of Nurioko. Showing when he died. You all know how he died right?

After Ashitare stabs Nuriko in the chest and Nuriko "kills" his human side the bolder is blocking the entrance to the shentso pao Nuriko picks it up and moves it. If Nuriko hadn't moved the boulder he wouldn't have of died. Because the other warriors would have made it there in time and Mitsukake would have of been able to heal our dearest Nuriko.
At least that is how i see it. He could still be alive.

So, I was talking to my fiancee a few days ago about FY and he asked me what all the Suzaku seshi's powers were. I went on saying how Tamahome can fight exceptionallly well in pretty much any fighting form and later can do his own verserion of the street fighter fire ball, Hotohori is an excellent sword fighter ect...
And he pointed out that the Suzaku seshi don't really seem to have any powers... and when I thought about it... he was right. Really Mitsukake is the only one with real powers, everyone else really just has heightened abilities.
Chichiri learnt all his monk abilities from Taiiskun, Tamahome learnt how to fight by his master, Tasuki got his fan (the power he's most known for) from the old bandit leader... really when you think about it, the Suzaku Seshi are the weakest (and so far the only ones who needed upgrades)
I mean, yea, you can say Nuriko is extremly strong, that's his power... but really look at what Tokokai has: Teleportation, great martial artist... and all the Genbu Seshi have atleast two abilities each.
Uruki: Contol wind, change into a female, good fighter
Tomite: Control ice, excellent marksman, good fighter
Hikitus: Control water, some freezing abilites, animal empathy, the ability to re-awaken forgotten/suppressed memories
Then you have Tamahome: He can fight good
Tasuki: he can fight good
Hotohori: He can fight with a sword good
Even the Seiryu seshi had powers you could actually say were real powers
Nakago: controlling chi, telekinesis
Soi: control lighting, manipulate men
Tomo: create illusions
Makes me wonder at times if the Suzaku seshi ever really awakened their true powers, or if they were just plain hozed

I've been reading Fushigi Yuugi for about 3 years now. It was the first manga that ever made me an avid reader.
And I'm almost done! whee
I miss Nuriko, I wish she was still a major character.

Their powers,in fact all Warriors powers, are based on their Chi. Maybe, the Suzaku seishis all are just unknown towards their real powers and they have never use it before, especially Tamahome,Chiriko,Hotohori and Nuriko. They didn't even think about being able to meet the Priestess and to use their powers. I'd say Mitsukake has always uses his powers. ^-^ He's one cool dude.Lay off the censored part in the OVAs.Heh.. Chichiri.Hm...I think,even if he did learn so much from that old hag [quickly hides o.0], he do have his own powers,such as using his chi to create a barrier, and shooting chi balls. Tasuki....He learnt illusions from a master and got that fan from his master. That guy..is cute for sure...Haha..I guess he doesn't really have his own powers but, his chi is the one that enable him to control the harisen's power. Hm..basically, I think all the warriors depends on their chis to produce their inner powers. Lets just say that the Suzaku Seishis are caught off-guard. ^-^;;;

Yeah, But the fact that they don't really have any powers makes them even more lifelike and cooler. Man I had found this really good deal on all nine of the FY DVD's. My dad said I could get if my mom said I could. But she said no.

But the powers, what I'm saying is, Mistukake seems to be the only one where we can really say he's got powers we see. With Chichiri, we don't know how much of what he can do is his power, and how much is actually from training. Tamahome get's that chi blast...but that's only after the upgrade.
It's like all they really have is hightened normal abilities for the most part.
