[[Good night. nwn]]
Haar stared dumbly at Alti, his voice lowering considerably as he lowered his arm. He had been very close to strangling the poor mage, of course he would never do such a thing to a friend...but he had been tempted to at least threaten Ceris. Red eyes darkened to an almost marroon shade as he listened to the teen's snappy little comments.
"I'm so sorry I was wasting my energy on finding out if my apprentice was dead or not," the man snapped right back with a heavy frown, turning a sharp glare towards the teen. Averting his eyes, the man glanced at Ceris once more before continuing, "And Ceris, I blame this completely on you."
Blue eyes fluttered slightly, pale features turning towards the rather loud noises around him. What was...?

Mie-tanuki Jillian almost regretted his question, but it was too late to take anything back and he wouldn't have even if he could have, anyway. But they're conversation and the talk he and Treza had been sharing had his mind working furiously - what could have made the prince change? He was caught off guard when Faryn changed the subject. "I - what?" He followed Faryn quickly. Surely the prince couldn't want him to meet his father, not after Enoth had nearly taken him. If Jillian hadn't woken... He shuddered slightly at the thought. Clacking sounds dampened as the smooth floor became rough and Faryn led Jillian through the smaller, darker hallways of the castle. Down the stairs and to the right, he guided the other teen directly into the dungeon where, sure enough, the cell containing Enoth was apparent. A pale hand pushed against Jillian's back, with intent to force him closer to the cell. Success didn't really matter. Silently, Faryn nodded at the base of the sole staircase, implicating to the guard to move himself and prevent exit. After a moment of allowing his dark eyes to pass from Jillian to Enoth and back again, Faryn spoke up in a clear, but impatient voice, "He's your father, right, Jillian? Why don't you start with saying something to him?"

Jillian stood, staring at his father, for some moments before he turned away, shaking his head. "I have nothing to say to him," he said softly. His eyes had darkened at the sight of his father and his pale skin shone out even more in the dark room with his black and near-black hair framing it. Enoth made a sound that was somewhere between a cough and a laugh. "Prince, your efforts are in vain. He won't speak - he never has."
**
Alti frowned. "I meant your efforts were wasted in such a useless fight. By all means, check on him, but I was thinking more that he" - he gestured towards Ceris - "had more pressing issues to return his energies to." He shrugged. Why did he bother getting caught up in these irksome matters? It bothered him, showing humanity - especially his own. His thoughts came to a hault by... noises. He turned around, looking for the source.

It wasn't everyday that he woke up to an almost ubearable stabbing pain in his upper leg. Groaning as he sat up, Peyton clutched at the stab wound in his leg. Although it was rather deep and should have cut off most of the pain he was currently feeling (due to severed nerves and the like) Ceris had explained before he fell asleep that whatever Xel had done to his lance was making some sort of reaction in his gash... Somewhat of an allergic reaction, he had supposed, but he still wasn't sure and had said he'd need to whip up some truth serum to get the other soldier talking.
Fingers digging into his pant leg, Peyton frowned heavily as he glared up at the bickering men. "C-ceris, can you please...do something before I rip my leg...off," he muttered, in extreme pain at the moment, a heavy wince gracing his unnatually pale features.
Two pairs of eyes instantly sunk downward, red eyes widening slightly. "You're okay?" Haar asked, leaning down to examine the boy to the best of his abilty.
"I'm...wonderful," the blonde forced out, hissing as careful fingers prodded the tear in his pants. "That hurts, Shay," he struggled to get out, forcing himself to let go of his leg in order to shoo the commander's hands away from him. Ceris nearly shoved Haar out of the way, fresh bandages in hand, "Go get your guest an escort," he ordered the commander, who looked almost baffled at the prospect of someone else giving out orders for a change.
Haar took a few steps back, his temper cooling to a controllable state, "I promised I'd explain a few things to him before he left, you'll be joining us in our little conversation," he replied towards Ceris who was currently trying to lessen the poor squire's pain.

Alti watched from the shadows, feeling particularly out of place in this situation. He was used to being separate from others, but the difference was broadened by the lack of familiarity between himself and this entire kingdom. He stepped forward slightly tentatively, a pensive expression on his face. "Do you think there's a way I could - I don't know - get my mother here? I can perform telleprtation magic - it's one of my strong points - but I'm not sure if I can do it with someone else... It's probably possible, though..."

"Nothing?" was the response from the young prince to Jillian's unenthusiastic response. Faryn crossed his arms and frowned. What was wrong with the silver-haired teen? He couldn't understand why he'd even bothered with this. What should he care if Jillian had a connection with his father or not.
Enoth's noise only irritated him. His arm grew dark with ill intent and he stepped closer to the cell. "Nothing, Jillian? How about a goodbye, then? I'll let you choose. I kill him here and now. Or you take the keys from the guard by the staircase and set him free yourself." Black whisps of magic encircled his arm and he extended it toward the bars.

"Faryn, don't... please..." Jillian said, his voice pained. It wasn't, however, in concern for his father - but for Faryn. And, now that he thought about it, Treza. He didn't want the prince to shorten his life for... this man. And he didn't want the girl lose someone she loved. He instinctively reached out to grab the other's arm, but recoiled as the dark magic whirled and eddied around his fingers like whisps of smoke. He didn't want Enoth free, but he didn't want Faryn to shorten his life... He sighed, unsure of what to do.

While his eyes had previously been set upon the potential victim, Faryn's attention was drawn back to his arm as he noticed strands of the rising death curse gravitate toward Jillian's outstretched limb. It angered him that Jillian was so indecisive! It angered him that Jillian had judged his relationship with Treza five minutes earlier. A lot of things angered the youth, but what angered him the most... was that this man attempted to wound Jillian and the minty-haired male was defending him from the prince.
Faryn let his cursing arm hang limply at his side before gazing accusingly at Enoth. However, his statement was directed at the other teen. "I'll tell you, Jillian, that I would like nothing more than to kill him in your presence after what he did. Everything he did to y--" Faryn dropped his gaze to the floor for a fleeting moment and cut himself off. Did it really bother him so much that Jillian had been used like that as a boy? It wasn't as if it really ever impacted Faryn's personal life. There was no reason for this knowledge to change his opinion of the other. But it was slowly changing. "What do you want to do?" he asked quietly, "Tell me." He turned his head and looked at Jillian. "I'll let you decide. If you set him free and he comes for you, though... don't ask anything else of me."

Jillian's eyes were down cast. "I can't allow you to shorten your life because of something that doesn't concern you," he said at last. He didn't want Enoth free, that he knew, but it was prefurable to losing Faryn even if that wouldn't be for many years - that was, if he was able to pull off his end of the bet. Otherwise he would lose Faryn at the end of this month. He raised his eyes to meet his father's cold ones. "Although I don't particularly wish him free, I don't want you to waste anything of yourself on him."

Ceris looked thoughtful. Haar looked incredibly hesitant. Peyton wasn't really listening to anyone at that point, he was simply begging for Ceris to make the pain go away. Haar turned his red gaze towards Ceris, "Is it possible?" He asked him, trying to drown out the blonde's current pleas.
Ceris looked up from his work, shrugging, "Of course it's possible, theoretically," he murmured, attempting to heal the stab wound, but his magic didn't even seem to do anthing...which was much more concerning than the mage would like to admit. Turning his amethyst gaze towards Alti, he continued, "I'm just worried...the fire kingdom and storms kingdom aren't even connected, not to mention they're quite a ways apart...w-wouldn't that make it even harder?" he asked, hands tightening their grip on the edge of the bed as Haar made a noise that sounded something like a snarl.
"You said you were from the darkness kingdom," the young commander spat with a sneer at the teen, his suspicion rising.

Alti shrugged. "I lied. I have a deceitful nature, after all. But that's not really important, now, is it?" He turned back to Ceris, his mind already beginning to work. "It would be hard... But, I think it could be made easier if I first sent her a message, explaining... Her forte is healing, yes, but she has strong magic for telliportation, as well. It's natural for our kingdom..." He frowned. "But what should I tell her? She'll be reluctant to come, I know... Hmm... maybe I should say that if she doesn't come, Haar will allow me access to swords..."

Haar visibly paled as he waved off the idea in an almost frantic manner. "I don't think I can allow myself to threaten your mother, even if it-" He had given Alti that daggerish sword to use earlier...and seeing as he had been incredibly worn out the previous day and he knew he couldn't have possibly remembered everything the teen said but... he swore he didn't ever think that the whole sharp object issue was that big of a deal. What in the world could Alti have done to make that threat mean so much to the boy's mother?
Ceris shook his head at the prospect, "I think it would easier to get your mother here but...safer at least, but I don't believe that would be the best way to get her here. I understand that she may be reluctant to come help a squire no less in kingdom so far off...but...could you try to think of a different manner of persuasion? I don't think that sort of threat would be helpful," he murmured with a slight shrug, hoping that maybe a more powerful healing spell would help the boy... He still wasn't quite sure what was keeping the wound from healing properly...

This was taking far too long. Couldn't Jillian just decide? What was so difficult?! He despised inefficiency.
Faryn released an aggravated breath. "You don't like the options? Fine. What do you want me to do with him? I want an answer right now. He's your father, not mine. Normally, I wouldn't even bother asking, but I was interested in your opinion. You may kill him yourself. You may watch him die by my hand. I could have him hang in the town square-- yes, I know that's not typical anymore, but I don't care. I could exile him to a different kingdom and let them deal with him. There's a lot of things you could do with him. You could talk to him before making a decision too. Perhaps he has something to say to you? He's already answered my questions." Faryn looked over at Enoth. "He wanted to take you back with him once free, right, Enoth?"

He shrugged. "I suppose you're right. She'd probably think I was faking, anyway... Although, now that I think of it, I would like a sword or two as souvenier... Not that I'll get one," he grumbled the last part. "Hmm... So then... Just tell her... someone's sick and needs her help? I mean, she's a healer, it's her job to help people... And if she doesn't come, I'll disown myself. Well, let's at least start with some paper and a quill, or whatever you use here."

Jillian's eyes widened slightly and he shivered. "Back? I..." He paused and then said, finally, "Just... exile him... He'll go back... We won't see him once he's gone home..." It was true. The place that had once been Jillian's home was very far from the Kingdom of Death - so far, it had taken Jillian over a year of traveling on foot to finally reach it, although that kingdom had not been his original destination.
