What do you like about drama?
To be or not to be...! Drama is everything!
Save the drama for your mama.
I like watching performance more than reading it.
The characters make drama most interesting.

I have seen Wicked, Mean Girls, Phantom of the Opera, and In the Heights in person. I enjoyed all of them. Musical dramas carry a great amount of emotion for the characters. I am always envious of the extreme talent of every actor/actress on Broadway.

I have very little experience with opera and ballet. I have seen a production of the Nutcracker and a few children’s ballet recitals but that is it. It is my goal for the future to see both an opera and a professional ballet production.

One musical I have seen both in person and the movie version of is The Phantom of the Opera. Both formats were incredible. In person tends to pull at your emotions more but I always feel more invested in the plot of a movie. Movies can do more with scenery.

I haven't had the chance to see any musical dramas in person, and the only one I've watched on tv has been Hamilton. I really want to see Hamilton in person one day, hopefully in the near future with my family. Word count: 41

I haven't had any experience with any operas or ballet. I've honestly just never been interested in either, and paid no attention to them. The only times I've been exposed to opera itself has been on TV commercials for performances at theaters, but I've never seen one myself. Word count: 48

The only film adaptation of a play I've seen was West Side Story as part of one of our units in choir during high school. I enjoyed it a lot because it felt engaging to see what would normally be performed on a stage, to be performed out in the open in actual locations. Word count: 54

1. Have you ever attended a professional drama performance? Which type of drama was it (play, opera, musical, dance)?
Yes, I attended a Broadway touring performance of Wicked a few years ago. It was a musical, and the production quality, music, and costumes were amazing. It was my first professional theater experience, and it made a big impression on me.

2. What is the last play you read? Did you enjoy it?
The last play I read was A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry. I really enjoyed it because of how powerful the story was and how it dealt with real-life issues like race, class, and family. The characters felt very authentic, and the conflicts were still relevant today.

I have seen lots of professional drama performances, three I can mention are: Hamilton, Wicked, and Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Hamilton, Wicked, and Radio City Christmas Spectacular are all musicals. I hope in the future to see an opera for the first time, and more musicals/plays.

The last play I read was Hospice by Pearl Cleage, and I did enjoy it. I think the play was an accurate reflection on mother and daughter relationships, particularly ones that have a lot of conflict and resentment. The raw conversations between the mother and daughter is very entertaining.

Yes, I have seen a musical drama live before. The first musical drama I remember seeing was Mary Poppins. It is a musical performance from its original film. I do enjoy musicals. They brought me a lot of joy and excitement seeing them as a kid.

I don't have much experience with opera or ballet. But my favorite movie is the Academy Award winning 'Black Swan'. The movie is about a professional ballerina who gets a lead role in a major production called Swan Lake. This movies the only major experience I have had with ballet.
