Accepting a bounty didn't necessarily mean you were going to be the one to complete it, especially since there were multiple people getting the messages whenever they arrived on the cellphones connected to the demon network. That said, there weren't many people who could get to prey faster than Bel, being the man of many resources that he was, and another demon fell to his particular hands as Bel snapped his fingers and caused an explosion that rocked the room with enough force to cause a lesser and worse-made building to collapse instantly. Luckily he took those things into account, and so the battle was over in an instant as Bel sipped a bit of tea and took a bite of an apple like an ever bigger a*****e than before. Hey, he was doing this for money after all, so why would you think that he was the good guy in this story? That was a mistake, and he was the kind of guy who loved capitalizing on your misunderstandings while they were still fresh in your head, so there you go. Bel rubbing it in a little. Soji Seta was now one of the most important people on the entire planet. It might have sounded like an insane notion, or he might have tried to deny the weight set upon his shoulders as he attempted to buck the responsibility that now rested within his control, but the fact was he held one of the only candelabrum capable of putting an end to this war. It was that Candelabrum which could grant untold power to the user if he had a heart pure enough for it to recognize, and even the holder of many of the strange and powerful artifacts would have no advantage over someone who held one, and pursued a worthy endeavor with it in due course. Having a weapon meant nothing, if you were incapable of wielding it properly, and Soji was one of the optimistic few who had the skill to draw out the power laying dormant inside of the Candelabrum. He now gathered many people who merely wished to see the world returned to the way it was, and although Bel wasn't sure he agreed with that sentiment, he knew that it was a better fate than what the powers-that-be had in mind for humanity. Soji had the will, and the way, to alter the course of their currently dismal future...and that made him more important than he could possibly imagine. And, if Bel dared say so, that also made him a friend.

Of the three biggest factions seeking to claim the future, the one that was by far the most cunning and resourceful was the Nihilo. They were demons who sought a world of stillness, where nothing would ever change and as a result, there could be no strife and difference that led creatures to fight one another. It was strange that such a stunted group was capable of being so conniving, but it was why they were able to lay so many traps for the humans who sought to interfere with their plans, and even Bel had to admit that their struggle to defeat the others was a bit impressive. The fact that they lacked the killer instinct, that desire to evolve that lay at the core of all living beings, was why they would never succeed if the feud was left to continue as is, but at the same time they were one of the perhaps more respectable groups of all of these futile, ignorant teams. It was for that reason, of course, Bel sought to deliver a clean "end" to them.
