Eradication. Etsali couldn't help but shudder at the thought. She'd seen first hand how willing the military could be to wipe out its own soldiers to kill the rebels fighting them, and for the first time it occurred to her that this could easily turn into the same sort of situation as the bombs falling on Old Hemisect all over again. But in these tunnels, there'd be no dusty little store to hide in away from the blast. They had to get out.
Was there anyone else to save? The thief tried to go down the list of who she even knew was down here, and found that almost all of them were already right beside her. Except for Vremea, maybe, but she hadn't seen the older troll since the last time they'd chatted. A 'Chief Health Director' would have been good to have, considering the state everyone was in, but she didn't want to leave the group to go look for her. Aside from her, that left...Keionx? Snorting, she shook her head. If she made it, she made it. If she didn't, well...She didn't. Everyone that mattered was right here, and she turned her attention back fully to watching their backs.
"His name's Ephias! He was with me during that Chittentown thing I told you about." She gave Luxara a quick smile, and then realized that Ephias wasn't the only one whose name hadn't been handed out. Scooting around so that everyone could hear and potentially see her, she began doling out introductions. "These two are Cerpin and Tevini, by the way, and this is Scuttle and uh..." She blinked at Blossmom, realized she didn't know the lusus' name, and decided flower chicken was rude. "Cerpin's lusus. And these are Forera and Luxara, they're Tunnel Snakes, and Anguis."
Ah, and one more very important group member. "And then we've got Wolly! Everyone, meet everyone, and welcome to the Tunnel Snake Caravan of Escaping!"

Forera liked the idea the redblood, whom she later found out to be named Ephias, gave. Watching him shove into a fight, Forera felt tempted to join him, but she needed to help out Anguis, so she simply returned the nod toward him and grinned at Etsali's agreement to continue walking. "Hella yes! We totally got this, just gotta like, keep movin'!" Her voice felt more confident now that she was with her friends and new trolls, feeling her body wiggle in excitement. Hearing the purpleblooded kid, Cerpin, speak his mind, Forera looked at him unsurely. "Tricked, huh... Sounds like what happened t'me and Lux last time we were with'm. It was totally terrible, like, really big bombs and everything." With a loud, wheezing cough, Forera continued. "Never been in these tunnels, like, ever, before. I just like, really hope the rebels know what's at the end." The tealbloods voice was still hoarse and raspy from the gases, but Forera didn't mind. She needed to speak. Maybe later she'd stop.
Forera almost stopped when she heard the redblooded kid, Tevini, expand on the royal's aim for the night, and she shuddered internally. "Fuuuuck. That's so rude of him, cowboy shithead Kursha." The pierced tealblood huffed to the group, adjusting the new weight on her shoulder properly. "Looks like we just need'ta get to him, like, fiiiirst!" Looking at the young curly haired redhead, she couldn't help but feel a little worry for them-- Didn't they know that they could, possibly, die because they joined them? She hoped they hadn't been jaded by the rebellion or anything... "I don't think there's anyone back there. The rebels probably totally know what they're doing!" Hopefully. This wasn't the time to get negative, though!
With a grin at Luxara, she rolled her eyes-- "Offf course we're okay and good! What'dya take me and Angs for!" She said cheerily, before hearing Anguis talk to her and nudge her shoulder. She smiled softly. "I'm glad you're okay, too, you dumb lunk," Forera said with a growl before shoving him softly. At Etsali's introductions, Forera grinned widely. "Nice t'meet'ya all! We'll talk more later! For now, lets KEEP MOVING!"
Vos was right, they had to keep moving. Her standing at guard had been helpful but they would be targeted soon if they kept where they were. She kept an eye on the outside as Reemus stood up, glad to see he could get up at least. Her heart ached at his injuries but there was not much to do. She did not have the skill to help him nor the time.
She shook her head at Vos as she moved back to the pair, saying "It hurts... less. Let's go. We'll be.. fine." There was a second when she hesitated then placed her hand gently on a part of Reemus' arm that looked okay. "I can support." She said softly, hoping that she would get across that if he needed help she could offer it while they moved. Her lungs burned less and she felt better, but her throat was still scratchy. It was easier to not talk.

Even while growing up in such a violent and turbulent environment, the consequences of death were still a heavy burden on the young. It was ingrained on them from the start of their birth, to fend for themselves and learn to fight, to fiercely battle others to win. Elidae, while still very young, was not a fool that didn’t recognize death was just a part of life. She had been a witness to many violent acts and many threatening outbursts. But to experience death in the face for the first time, to have it mark her freckled cheeks...
She remained paralyzed, her bile sack churning. The fresh blood that stained her face began to run cold, mimicking her own unclear emotions overpowering her. How was she to feel? Or was she to feel… nothing? Was this… good? Should she... feel happy?
Suddenly, a shadow cast over her, a larger figure blocking her view of the body, breaking Elidae from her stupor. Mechanically, the little yellowblood lifted her head, her little nubs focusing on the words proclaimed from whoever came to her. A purpleblood, a tall and noble one, with an aura of light surrounded her. Her savior's speech reached Elidae deeply; she felt safe.
Transfixed on the purpleblood’s face, Elidae blinked repeatedly to hinder back warm tears beginning to form at the corners of her eyes. Her blood pump swelled in her organ cage as Tamiya wiped the blood from her face, breath heightened by the small, but careful act of kindness given to her by someone who could so easily overlook a little yellowblood. She was truly blessed to receive such care...
“I… I… high...?” For once, Elidae struggled to speak.
Abruptly, her tiny body began to tremble violently. Ladydad reappeared, fluttering around for a moment and baffled by the sudden prescence of a dignified highblood, before carefully resting on Elidae's back to coo her to calm down.
She managed to mumble a quiet, “Th… thank you…”
Elidae regretfully knew Tamiya would return to battle, but the unexpected compassion from the highblood would never be forgotten.
Sypon
This actually sets a little up for her affection for highbloods! Thank you! :3

"Well, I certainly wasn't careless! I just. Wanted to... have a better view of the fight." Eridia huffed, knowing that was a lame excuse. She scratched her horn, feeling a bit overwhelmed of everything. The smell was getting to her and felt a bit nauseous.
"Yeah, luckily I can't hear you very well either!" She couldn't help but give the other a toothy grin. Honestly, the highblood didn't care if Psy heard her or not. Heck she probably did.
Scanning the battleground, Kursha sucked his breath in through his teeth. His forces were losing morale. Battered and bloodied as they were, a number of them looked close to giving up. That or dropping dead on the spot. The number of corpses the rebels had left in their wake no doubt preyed on their resolve. He clenched his jaw. Not everyone had his degree of determination.
“What the hell?!” Kursha barked, breaking through enemy lines to join his forces. Damn the risks. They needed some encouragement. Wielding his rifle like a staff, he warded off any oncoming melee attacks. “Is this really the best you can do? We’ve got them exactly where we want them, and you’re just going to roll over and die?” Snarling, he aimed a kick at a foe who strayed too close. “Pathetic! No one will mourn the ones who died here, but you can be damn sure everyone on Alternia will know our names by the time we’re through. So, if you won’t fight for the glory of the empire…” He fired off a shot. “Then fight for yourself. Because we’re not… gonna... lose!”
Byakko's Allies
The rebels were overwhelmed. Even with the advantage the fortified tunnels gave them, they were outnumbered and morale was running low- especially so given the circumstances of the battle. Slowly but surely, the military was gaining the upper hand.
This was not lost on Byakko, who kept a sharp eye on her forces as she led both armies deeper underground. It didn't look promising. Surveying the chaotic battleground over her shoulder, she silently hissed curses to herself. Many of the rebels looked close to collapsing.
"We're almost there- keep running!" Byakko swiveled to address her forces, bellowing out words of encouragement as they raced by. Bracing herself to ward off any incoming attacks, the mutantblood resolved to hold her ground until each of the rebel sympathizers had passed. The royalists washed over her. "There're no limitations but the ones you imagine. Don't let them break you, don't give up!" She elbowed a royalist in the face, spinning to passionately pump her kanabō into the air above the sea of horns.
"NEVER give up!" She vehemently believed in them. They could make it out alive- they just needed to grit their teeth and make it a little further.

This round will continue for 3h, then we will pause the battle to take stock of hp, and post up the very last round of this fight! Do try and stay alive, won't you?
There are 16 drones collapsed from fatigue! Byakko takes 83 extra damage! 18 drones get back up, encouraged to keep fighting!
Please post the boss you are attacking in your initial post, and edit immediately for damage done! If posts do not have damage filled in within 10/20 minutes they will have to be overlooked.
If you have not posted in the previous rounds: Now is your time to decide what team to be on. Your first attack will decide what group you are fighting on, attack Kursha to be on the side of the rebels, and Byakko to be on the side of the royalists.
All posts must have minimum two sentences of writing in them to count towards growth/meta rewards.
Quote:
Royal Drone Forces: 83/120 The amount of remaining Drones is the amount of extra damage Byakko takes at the start of every new round, starting at round 2. Kids can either sic their Lusii (or unleash tumbling ball deaths) onto these drones, or cheer them on from the sidelines, encouraging them to get back in the fight!
Rebel kids: At each half hour, roll 1d4. That is the amount of drones that you have taken out through whatever tactic you chose! They truly are the storm troopers of Alternia. Royalist kids: At each half hour, post a flavour text of your troll keepint out of trouble's way and encouraging the drones to keep fighting in their own special way. For each kid that posts their cheering, a drone will re-join the battle!
Cracks were starting to show in the greenblood’s composed and confident façade. His voice had turned snappish, and his mouth was fixed in a snarl. Blood ran down his sides, staining his clothes. He barked out orders to his assigned task force. “Don’t you dare give them an inch! We’ve got them! You!” Whirling, Kursha turned on one of the drones. “Of all the incompetent… Give me that!” With a growl, he tore the weapon out from the drone’s fingers: an automatic crossbow. Seizing the drone’s supply of bolts as well, he slammed one onto the deck. The metal began to glow deep red. Then it settled into gold. “Let’s see how you like this… Eat lead!”
If you rolled a 1, pain explodes in your side. You’re surprised to find a hot bolt protruding from your gut. You think maybe it struck an internal organ. The thought is enough to make you sick. Take 6 damage, and 1 extra damage for your first three half hour turns. If you rolled a 2, you press yourself flat against the side of the tunnel in hopes of making yourself less of a target. Unfortunately, a bolt still nails you in the shoulder… more specifically, it nails you to the to wall. Bracing yourself against the pain, you yank the missile free. Take 5 damage and deal no damage this attack. If you rolled a 3, you dodge the first bolt that comes your way, but soon after a second one buries itself in your arm. Take 4 damage and deal 1 less damage on every half-hour attack this round. If you rolled a 4, through the chaos, you spot Kursha taking aim… at you! Instinctively, you duck. You feel a chill as the bolt whistles over your head and scatters shrapnel all over you. When you look back, you see that it has embedded itself a good three inches into the rock wall... Take 4 damage. If you rolled a 5, there is a certain rhythm to ranged combat, a rhythm which you find yourself adapting to. Moving in time, you duck and weave through the crowd, dodging the artillery with uncanny precision. In no time at all, you find yourself face to face with the marksman. Show him you mean business. Take 3 damage and deal +3 damage for this attack. If you rolled a 6, horrorstruck, you watch as a troll in front of you goes down, a bolt buried deep in theirchest. They were however, the only thing standing between you and Kursha. Invigorated by your sudden fury, you lunge towards him in a blaze of speed. Wrenching the crossbow out of his grip, you launch into a flurry of attacks, holding nothing back. Take 3 damage. Deal +1 damage on all successful attacks, including this one, for this round.
Half hour options: Fight! Teens and up can choose to attack Kursha once every half hour, as normal. Teens and up can also attack trolls on the other side as though they were fighting in a normal battle thread, however they will not be able to attack children as their Lusii will shield them from harm. If you want to attack other trolls, please read the PVP rules below to keep the battle controlled, fair, and friendly. Assist! Kids can roll 1d4 every half hour to get their lusus to take out some of those annoying drones! Whatever number they roll is the amount of drones they take out with their lusus-jitsu.
The stretching tunnel system the military was pursuing the Initiative through abruptly widened, opening into a grotto riddled with pitfalls. The floor became dangerously jagged and uneven. A steep chasm, swirling with murky water cut across the length of the cavern- on the other side, the only path out. Byakko was nothing more than a mutant pink blur. Ignoring her limp she sprinted at full speed across the lone wooden bridge, ushering any lagging rebels across. Blood trickled down her face, running into her mouth. She twisted her neck down to spit down into the moat. Where the bloodied glob landed, the water began to churn and bubble. "Why don't you go for a little swim?" Byakko snarled, slicing through the ropes with sharpened claws. One end of the splintered bridge whipped down and sunk into the water, disappearing into a mysteriously violent froth.
If you rolled a 1 along with everyone else, you tried to jump the crevasse. Even with your running start and majestic leap, you didn't make it even remotely close to reaching the other side. Dozens of tiny little mouths with tiny little razor sharp teeth nipped at every possible surface as you plunged deep into the water, now dyed your blood hue. The piranhas feasted that night. Take 6 damage, and 1 extra damage for your first three half hour turns. If you rolled a 2, bounding over the pitfalls, you glance down to realize the bottoms of most of them were lined with gleaming metal spikes. You barely manage to catch yourself from falling into one such trap. Scrambling back up over the edge in a panic, you promptly topple over into an adjacent pit. The unforgiving spikes pierce through your measly exoskeleton. Take 5 damage. If you rolled a 3 unluckily enough, you were on the bridge when it snapped. Clutching onto dear life as the freed end thrashed downwards, you were dunked into the swirling water. The finbeasts made a nice midnight snack of you before you managed to drag yourself out, mostly unharmed, but covered in bloodied craters. Take 4 damage, and deal 1 less damage on every half-hour attack this round. If you rolled a 4, rebounding off the head of one of the trolls splashing around in the invested waters was the only way you could keep from plummeting into them yourself. You were pretty sure they were a royalist? Oops. Take 4 damage. If you rolled a 5 the excitement of battle had your pump biscuit pounding in your head. Sparking a burst of energy you didn't know you had in reserve, you leap over the cavities in the floor with ease. With one final burst, you tackle Byakko, getting in a couple good hits in before she scrambled away. Take 3 damage and deal +1 damage on all successful attacks, including this one, for this round If you rolled a 6 the rebels might have been fast, but you were so much faster. You were the alpha. Charging across the bridge, you closed the final gap between yourself and the rebels before Byakko had cut its ties. Moving in for a decisive strike, you pounce on the rebel leader in a flurry of melee attacks, showering yourself with mutant pink blood. Deal an extra +3 damage, but take 3 yourself.
Half hour options: Fight! Teens and up can choose to attack Byakko once every half hour, as normal. Teens and up can also attack trolls on the other side as though they were fighting in a normal battle thread, however they will not be able to attack children as their Lusii will shield them from harm. If you want to attack other trolls, please read the PVP rules below to keep the battle controlled, fair, and friendly. Assist! Kids can cheer their team on, encouraging the drones to stay in the fight! For each 5 posts (between all kids, not individuals) one drone that has been knocked out of the fight will get back up and fight on.

PVP rules:
PVP is separate from boss mechanics, and you do not need to wait half-hours between each attack. You can also continue to attack the boss at half hour intervals.
If you want other trolls to attack your troll, or if you want to attack other trolls you must put this code in your posts whenever you are ready to join the player vs player fray - once you have put it in you must keep it in for the rest of the battle! There is no off switch. Welcome to the ride. By putting this in your post you signify you have read, are aware of, and will follow the rules below to keep things in the battle organized and smooth. Rule breakers will get suspended from the meta so please make sure to only use this option if you are prepared to pay extra attention during the battle.
1) Only attack other trolls with the PVP TROLL sign in their posts. 2) Do not ignore people who have attacked you. You can choose to not attack back, but your troll must be aware of, and react to attacks from others. 3) Once you have attacked a PVP troll, do not attack any other PVP troll unless A) in response to someone else attacking you or B) the person you attacked has replied to you. 4) If the person who you attacked did not attack you back in their reply you can not attack them again, and may either wait for an attack or find a new target. 5) Do not attack someone who has not posted in over 3h unless you have received prior permission from them to engage. 6) Always quote the person you are currently attacking.
ZEFFER ATTACK THAT DANK KURSH Things were getting down to the wire. Zeffer had known what was up ahead, and rushed ahead alongside Vremea, praying that it would do more to deter the Royalist forces. Byakko's invigorated yelling filled him with hope, and he snarled as he cracked his baton against the head of a drone that tried to flank them. Kursha was once again making a racket again, and Zeffer growled, wondering what tricks would be deployed next.
Bolts flew past, whistling dangerously and ricocheting off rocks, sending rubble into Zeffer's face. He shook himself off, and kept pushing, making a path for the healer and keeping an eye out for their greenblooded adversary.
"There he is." Zeffer snarled, barely managing to avoid another bolt as it zipped past to hit a stalagmite jutting up from the floor. A drone charged in, but Zeffer was on them in moments, clearing a path for Vremea and her formidable scythe. "Get him!!"

"No worries, it was meant to disposed of." Vremea said and nodded afterwards at him before adjusting her hold on him. "Sure thing. I apologize. I promise he will be safe in my hands." However, before Vremea could continue she heard Byakko start yelling words of encouragement, which invigorated her spirit. Faster, she ran down the tunnels with Zeffer, before hearing... Of course, he had to pull out another weapon. This time, it was a... Cross bow? Oh no, no no, they needed to move! Vremea was thankful for Zeffer's help and continued moving, body feeling the adrenaline pump her body faster and faster. Hearing the blueblood snarl in anger, she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose in disgust and felt a surge of energy ignite her strength. "On it!" Shielding Maneki from any blows, Vremea kept him very close to her and quickly ran toward Kursha, getting up-close and personal with him with a wide and powerful slash at the a*****e. Quickly she returned, not taking any chances with the kid in her arms, not wanting him hurt in any way. "Let us go!"

The quick introductions were a pause in moving and they gave Anguis a little more time to balance himself and feel better. He felt a little more grounded, better on his feet, and he took some of his weight off his sister and Luxara. Not all, since he knew they'd probably try and drag him back, but what he could.
The commotion from the fight caught his attention though and he watched as Kursha grabbed a new weapon, something that had him panic again. These times had been disastrous and he did not like what had happened but it looked like a simple crossbow, surprisingly. One like Luxara's. That was more manageable, right?
Then Luxara was shot by it.
Straight horror coursed through Anguis as she watched her begin to bleed, the bolt sticking out of her body. That was it, they absolutely had to move, no matter what. Luxara didn't deserve this, not from Kursha at all.
Pulling his arms down he bent to pick up Luxara, gasping out "Lux, Lux, I got you just hold on. We're getting out of here, we have to." He tried not to jostle any of her injuries as he cradled her, pure adrenaline coursing through his system.
As introductions ran on, Luxara was stuck considering the royalist plans one of the children somehow knew. How did kids know those details? Whatever, she was a smart tyke herself who figured out the OHC agenda on her own; it all lined up. They weren't taking any prisoners. She, her friends, little Maneki...these kids, too! There would be no mercy, they were rabbits cornered for slaughter. And that ******** kissed me on the mouth.
Kursha seemed to be losing his cool. About time. He wasn't invincible by a long stretch. "Gan should've crushed your throat more so you'd shut the hell up!" Despite her position, she grabbed her crossbow again, loaded, shot. And he was switching out for a weapon like hers? The ripping off piece of-
Thunk. Luxara choked. She had to take a wavering step back to steady herself, and looked down. There was a bolt, much like her own, sticking out of the side of her gut. He got me, she thought as she started to bleed out. For a moment, she could only stare. Her shaking hand touched it, gripped it. It was there all right. Moving it sent spasms of pain up her side. If she removed it, she'd bleed out more.
She thought...she thought she might barf. It was hard to stay up straight. Something was wrong.
It might be more than a flesh wound.
Oh god. Oh ********. No, no, don't let him get me like this. Not here. Not now.
All she could do was let out a panicked squeak as her eyes watered. HP: 5/20 Attack: 2 + 1 = 3 Inventory: Agility trinket
Etsali's head turned as the shouts of both sides' leaders rang out, and she tensed anxiously as she waited for the battle to take its next turn. She didn't have to wait long. Kursha's bolts rained down all around them, and she had just enough time to register one striking into Luxara before she had to leap aside to avoid the same fate. As she rolled to her feet, she let out a scream for the kids to find any cover they could. Then she pulled a knife and prepared to throw it.
There was a sudden white-hot pain and a delicate thud as her knife hit the floor. She had to blink away tears as she looked down, and staggered at the sight of the bolt still lodged neatly through her right arm. The orange seeped into her glove.
A loud snarl ripped Forera's throat as she saw Luxara get hit, anger pooling in her veins. "You <******** d**k!" She shrieked, grabbing her weapon and throwing it violently at the nearest drone, the metal knocking them out with one hit. "Don't you <******** dare hit my friends!" Her anger was uncontrollable, almost like a tantrum, and Forera ripped away from Anguis to run toward Kursha and show him what she was made of. She punched him straight in his disgusting, sweaty face with her metal hand, anger bursting from her body. Then she realized she didn't have a weapon. She punched him again, anyways, then rolled back to the group, anxiously searching for a replacement.
hello my name is alifax bunsem and i would like to attack byakko mawiya for 3 damage 8/20 hp unused power using defense b trinket thanx - this hit has been nullified military grade weapon thx
Alifax pushed forward with his meteors but he had to admit that the sight of water made him...well, at least a little distressed. Water doused fires, after all. He leapt as nimbly as he could over the crevasse, and cleared it easily - well, okay, not as easily as he'd thought. Something sharp and vicious bit at his ankle, but it was too tenacious to be shaken off ********. Well, this didn't matter. He had to keep following that mutant.
