Never give up, never surrender! Nothing will keep her down for long, and to her, setbacks are merely temporary, transient things. So when she challenged an older doe and lost, she got right back up, trained incessantly, and watched the other for clues on how best to win next time. There had been a heavy rain the night before and the cliffs near the sea were loose. She should never have been there, but she could handle herself better than the foolish youngsters she'd found. Rocks were tumbling down all around her, all around them. She stood over the youngsters she had found in this precarious area and braced while they cried out in fear under her belly. Rocks slammed against her armor, slashed against her side and legs, but she had youngsters to protect, and though they were not hers, they were someones and she would do her best to ensure they got back to their parents. Eventually the rocks stopped coming and it was only pebbles now. Bleeding freely, she lowered her head to look at the frightened young ones cowering but unharmed beneath her. "Run home." She told them. "Don't you forget that you would be dead otherwise, and don't make this mistake again." The youngsters scrambled away on shaking legs and she stood alone among the rock slide, grateful to whatever luck it was that had kept the largest ones from hitting her.
