"Thank you," Lin ran her fingers through her hair, "We might have to think on what to write though. I would like to tell them we're fine but warn them ahead of time what to expect."
She wasn't sure how to do that without worrying anyone, that didn't seem possible. Lin was sure the first bad reaction would be from Dareon, and then it would go all down hill from there.

"Uruloki could always tell them himself," Kyrie pointed out with a smile. "Answer any questions they would have. Though that does bring up that other subject we discussed yesterday ... about whether you would want to do what Wren has done, and receive the gift of languages."
Earendil blinked. "Eh? What did Wren do?" he asked, not understanding what Kyrie was talking about.
He hadn't seen Wren yet, and of course had not been present the day before when she'd received the drop of blood from Kasal.

"When we were hiding, Mari, who has a dragon partner by the name of Kasal gave Wren a drop of her blood," Lin explained knowing that he was very out of the loop.
To be fair, they hadn't really a chance to catch up on what had happened since he was captured.
"While this was happening, Kyrie and I had a talk. While, hopefully nothing this extreme will happen again, I do admit there is an issue with the fact there are a lot of countries where we won't know the language," Lin explained, "So there had been talk of accepting the gift of languages for safety reasons."
This went against the kind of learning she and Earendil did, but having everyone in their party being able to communicate with those around them was becoming very important.

Earendil nodded thoughtfully. "It would be helpful," he had to admit. "And you're right, for our safety it would be best if we did know the language of the countries we're going to be visiting."
Part of him knew that his pride was going to be bruised if they did take this shortcut, but on the other hand if they passed on it simply because of pride then it could one day cost them their lives.
"I think ... that considering how many other challenges we're already going to face, languages aside, it might be very wise of us to take advantage of the offer," he murmured thoughtfully.

Lin nodded, "And that is something else we'll have to relay back to the others as well."
Dareon, Kaito and Shiro were on the list of people who would need that gift. Even with Shiro's brilliant mind and Kaito's equally brilliant mind (when he chose to use it), they both needed somewhere to start from before they could even get a handle on a new language.

"I can give them some blood when I bring them your message," Uruloki spoke up, draping himself along Kyrie's shoulders. "Then it's done, no need to remember later on. Not that Iorlas will need it."
Kyrie smiled softly. "True. But if you want to take some time and think about what message you'd like to send, I do need to get back to Mari. Preparations to make. This afternoon there's to be a parade through the city. You're welcome to come if you like, but it's only going to be a military parade, nothing special. Just to introduce Mari back to the city."

Since Earendil probably wouldn't be able to attend, Lin didn't feel like going.
"Thanks, I think I'll stay here with Earendil though, but the children..."
She glanced over at the two children to see what they thought. Miyuki shook her head.
"Now that we know we'll be here a while, I would rather have everything set up proper," Miyuki replied, "Ai will probably give birth while we're here and..."
She tugged at her sleeves, they were already long, but it felt weird to have them short and she could feel in places where the clothes were just a tad tight.
"I'm going to have to do something about my clothes first."
After all, they would probably have to establish a new schedule since they would be in one place. Her and Andarien could work and study interrupted in a situation like this.

"I'd like to find a forge, if I can," Andarien said hesitantly. "Mi was right, I shouldn't give up on making things just because I don't have anyone to make them for. If we're going to keep going places, who knows? Maybe someone will need something I make eventually."
Kyrie nodded. "I'll ask Mari and Maravel about it. See what I can dig up for you guys. If you're interested, though, you'll probably be able to see at least part of the parade from the windows - actually, the conservatory balcony gives the best view of the city. It's easy to find - go to the stair at the end of the hall here and go all the way up."
She glanced at Miyuki. "Do you need just material, or do you need someone to help you make the new clothes?"

"I'll need someone to help me make new clothes, I don't know anything about that craft..." Miyuki admitted.
Her clothes had always been made by the people in the place she was staying or by her uncle. She knew how to repair clothes, but not to make them from scratch.

"Pity Iorlas isn't here," Earendil chuckled softly. "She learned about tailoring in Caras Galadhon."
Kyrie laughed. "Well, it's good to hear you've still got your sense of humor," she grinned. "Anyways, I'll go see Mari and Maravel and see about everything. Clothes for Miyuki, a forge for Andarien, and breakfast for you all."
"And don't forget to think of what message you want to send to the others," Uruloki added as Kyrie turned to leave.

"We will," Lin promised.
Though she had no idea where to start with their message at all. Something that wouldn't worry anyone too much.
Once Kyrie and Uruloki were gone, it was family time to come up with a message, and that would keep them busy until someone came with breakfast.

Earendil's thought was simply to say that the country had been rescued and they were resting and helping out until everything was stable again. Sure, it left out that he was injured, but he didn't want Daeron to pack up his family and bring them all here for nothing.
When their breakfast was brought, there was also a message for them: if any of them wished to go anywhere specific, whether in the castle or outside it, they simply needed to ask one of the guards outside their door.

Since Lin wanted to stay with Earendil, that left the children with the choice on whether they wanted to go out or not.
Miyuki, wanted to set things up in the tent for a permanent stay, since they would be staying here for a while. She supposed once she was ready (and once Lanceriel was ready) to ask for more lessons. She was getting along in her illusions and she could figure out runes well enough on her own.
Though after everything they had been through, she wondered if she should focus on one more branch of magic. Maybe an element? However, MIyuki wasn't sure what element to focus on at all.
"Maybe I'll go ask Lanceriel later," Miyuki murmured thoughtfully.

"Ask Lancaeriel what?" Andarien asked from where he was sitting at the desk in the study he and his sister were sharing as a bedroom. He had various gears and tools spread out in front of him, as well as his notebook and pencil, and he was once again working on different designs for a pocketwatch.
He had gotten an idea for a useful pocketwatch, one that could carry things as well as tell the time, and that could keep the item secret. He had a rough idea of how he could lock the compartment, but he needed to work out the details before it would work.

"What other branch of magic I should focus on, I was thinking of an element, but I'm not sure," Miyuki admitted, "I mean, I know there's still a lot possible between illusions and runes, but maybe learning an offensive branch of magic might not be a bad idea."
Even though she would rather now, she quite liked the idea of scaring people too much to want to attack.
