I think it might be the title. If it was a Merlinian style academy or something, it would be called something else. I can't see an old sagely Wizard going 'Welcome to our MAGICAL School! 4laugh ' A magical school would be... a magical school. .-. If they had said 'School of Magic' it would conjure a different image. Gee, thanks, that makes me feel better. xD Well you need to remember, these are just basic planning idea's. The name of the ball won't simply be "magical school" Just like last year's wasn't "books come to life". A real name won't be added until the plot gets hammered out and a little closer to an actual plot. After that it will get a fancy name that matches it even better. If that idea get's picked maybe you can nudge that along though. Your welcome! I mean, not the title of the Ball, the title given to the idea. The wording of the theme, I guess. Well that's what I was reassuring you about. The title is just a placeholder at the moment, and Magical school is the most basic form of anything so it gives everyone an idea of what to expect from it. A school of magic. "medieval university of arcane arts" would be too complex at our current stage to be able to come up with a super creative idea for it. It's a university in medieval times on arcane magic. You can't change the idea around it too much. Where as "Magical school" can be any magic from any school at any time. It can even be turned into the "medieval university of arcane arts" at a later time after the plot is worked on/
I mean I definitely know where your coming from. A more descriptive title definitely would help with voting on one thing over another, that's for sure.
Hey, I already have a thread looking for art here, I also already have a female version of my avatar. Not to mention mine's inspired by .hack//, so anything magical girl would ruin it. Don't be mean

No, after we pick the theme with this voting, the plot committee will run with it. They will expand on the idea and make it run three days long. However when they work on the plot for the theme, they also give it a more fitting name. Just because an idea is picked doesn't mean it'll be used word for word. Ideas have to be expanded upon, rooms have to be thought out more (and even more once the room hosts take a room) and the whole idea gets a giant makeover.
So right now we are picking a theme. The plot committee works on turning that into a story. Is that a little clearer?
lol I wasn't gonna be, but your too late! I'm already getting cute chibi art that won't turn me into a girl.

Yeah, I understand the general process. But the idea was supposed to be one thing, and generally they won't turn it quite around to something entirely different, right? It'd be like picking an entirely new theme. It's not like you can't have more free art. .-. You sure you don't wanna be magical? Lol
