It took a few minutes for Feng to realize the ground under his feet wasn't shaking anymore. That's probably because his knees were weak and his entire body was shivering from cold. He felt like he'd been out here forever. Solid ground was a definite improvement though. He didn't even look back. He just kept walking in a straight line, hoping the cracking wouldn't catch up with him.

Ami groaned and slid off the titan, hitting the ice with a hard thwack. She expected to feel the uneven shaking, but for once, she didn't. Everything was calm, the ground steady below her feet.
In the distance she saw Feng struggling to even walk. He really did look pathetic out there. What if he raped her or something? God he was such a creeper!
... But she couldn't just leave him out here like this. It just didn't feel right. Underneath Ami's icy exterior, she really did care for people in a motherly sort of way. Even with that out of the way, Ami couldn't let a fellow hunter go down like that.
She ran over to him as fast as she could and said, "Hey idiot, base's that way." She was using her sarcastic quips to ignore what had just happened. Though she'd only heard rumors of H, really, no part of what happened to him seemed fair. That, and they'd lost the artifact, meaning it was still in the hands of some foul beast. s**t.

Feng jumped, startled by the sudden presence. He had honestly though he was all alone. Figured it would be Ami to prove him wrong. He was surprise she bothered to help him at all, honestly. He was still positive that she didn't like him. Still, he turned and headed in the direction she mentioned. Not without questioning her though.
"How do you know it's this way?"

Clerise stared blankly at the hunter who was their rescuer. She followed the group to the portal, shrugging.
All well, what can you do. At least they were saved.

Help. It actually came for them.
Sherry was tired, hurt, and cold. And so thankful for that help that she didn't know what to say. So, she simply followed silently.
[To the portal!]

Once Sasha was able, she wrapped an arm around Jerry's waist, plastering herself to his side. Turning towards him, Sasha buried her face against his side, her free hand moving to clutch his scarf. Having secured herself to him in a way that left little room for separation, Sasha shuffled along with Jerry back to the sled. Only then did she climb aboard, reaching out to help him up once she'd gotten herself situated. [exit ffff]

Jerry merely smiled weakly, moving on auto pilot as she guided him down to sit.
A hot shower would be a good start, he thought distantly, But it might be crowded. Coffee. A slightly more feasible alternative.
In the meantime, there was the warmth of friends. Right. He settled back and let the Killzone apparition carry them forth to hopefully warmer things and less thought processes.

Ryan followed the rest back home, eager to dig out the blanket he had tucked away for his return. He didn't want to think about the events that had happened today, nor what they might face after that. His friends were safe for the time being and that was good enough for him.

Otto was so happy to go back that he shuffled the whole way.
Only he didn't, but that Killzone dude was kind of cool!

Killzone. It was probably the first time, (possibly the last) that Marcus was happy to see the sun hunter. Back to camp. Back home maybe? Either way, the further from that giant thing the better.

Wilson breathed a sigh of relief when help finally arrived. He looked back one more time before he shook his head and made his way back to the base.

Sighing, she threw an arm under Feng's and said, "C'mon."

Dakota blinked as he saw Ryan and Wilson pass before getting the text message from Clerise.
Time for some TLC.
"I think I see my brothers. See ya back at Base Jordan." Dakota saluted the older sun hunter before following the crowd back, "Get some rest Boss." The teenager patted the man on the back.

He appreciated the help. Really, he did. But he really truly hoped that this didn't turn around to bite him in the a**. Would she think he was even creepier for needing a girls help. He wasn't creepy! His experience with Ami was just a series of unfortunate events.
<You're over-analyzing again.>
Shang was right. Feng accepted the help, not that he could do otherwise, and let her lead him back.

"See you there, dude." Jordan blinked in surprise at the nickname, though, not used to being called boss by anyone besides his Phoenixes.
You did order everyone around, Ferros pointed out, sounding amused.
I guess I did. Jordan pulled his coat tighter around himself; he still needed to make sure everyone was here. He'd follow the group with the last stragglers.
