Well that... Hadn't.... Worked....
... At all.
In fact, she had made the situation 10x worse.
Oh Jack, he was crying into her now. Riyo didn't know how to deal with HERSELF crying, much less someone else. Why did she feel bad now? SHE hadn't done anything wrong. DEACON was the one who deceived her...
So why did it tear her up on the inside to hear him sob? Did she pity him? Maybe.
And oh Jack Christof couldn't have come at a better time. when she looked up to see the hunchback standing over and reaching for the back of Deacon's shirt, she couldn't have looked more relieved if she tried. The ghoul mouthed a thank you before slowly sitting up.
Riyo wanted to look away from Deacon, but in all honesty she couldn't. It wasn't right. Her mind screamed you did this even if the boil HAD been the one to knock her to the ground. She'd somehow managed to bring this self-proclaimed macho to the ground sobbing like a small scareling. Shouldn't she be taking joy in this?
... No. The demoness did a lot of mean things, but she just couldn't find it in herself to stay mad at what was pretty much a sobbing heap of fur.
Her face screamed dismal as she finally stood. How did she fix it? "Deacon, stop crying... Please?" Her hands momentarily searched through her pockets for the handkerchief she almost always had with her, but realized it had been misplaced all too quickly. So instead, she took off her already disheveled tie and tried to dab his face with it. Hey, something was better than nothing.

The witch pulled out her card and looked at the little demon she had been paired with. "Well aren't you cute?" She told him, though she phrased it like a question and then pointed to a nearby table. "I chose... That one!" And with that, she bounced off. Meeting new people was such a delight! (Exit to Table 6!)

Anna had been leaning against a wall, scuffing one shoe back and forth against the floor, when Shibey suddenly jumped off her shoulder and looked back at her. < Come on, > he called back to her before setting off through the crowd. "Shibey? Hey, Shibey! C-come back!" Anna pushed off the wall and went after him, wincing as she tried to wind her way through groups of people. "Sorry! Sorry! Excuse me... sorry!"When she finally caught up with Shibey, he was sitting primly in front of a dry erase board. "What's all that about?" she scolded as she scooped him up into her arms. "Why would you-" And then she realized her name was on that board oh Jack why. Her eyes widened and she stared at the board as if frozen. "H-how-"Shibey... OwO'd. "You didn't - you horrible creature!" She shook him, making his little head bobble about for a moment, before looking back up at the board and squirming a little bit. She... this Yuki person would be lonely and... oh, False was here too... "... fine," she mumbled, shaking Shibey once more for good measure before trailing nervously towards the tables. "U-um, Yuki? Who is Yuki?"

Deacon hadn't realized that someone was coming to the poor ghoul's rescue until he felt a strong hand grab hold of the back of his collar and forcefully haul him off of her. He didn't protest much, although it took him a moment to realize that he should probably let go of her clothes before he ended up trying to drag her up in a less than effective manner.
Looking up to see who had come to Riyo's aid, he looked particularly worried to see Christof looming over him. He didn't look happy, either... Deacon, in response to the displeased look and grunt, paled. Oh, Jack. What just happened?
He was shaking, but the sobbing had barely eased up. Tears that Riyo might have doubted he was actually shedding moments before were running freely now. Later, when he fully realized that he'd had a breakdown - let alone in front of others - he was probably going to wish he could kill himself.
Not that he didn't feel pretty damn awful right now, though...
He was back on his feet, thanks to the igor, but his legs felt like they wanted to give out. His ears were drooped. His tail hung limp. He shook his head slowly at Riyo's words, sniffling.
"C-can't..." Deacon choked. She was dabbing at his face, now. That lifted his spirits just a little and he managed a deep but shaking breath as he tried to recompose himself. It wasn't as easy as he hoped it would be.
"I'm sorry... Th-there's something... I don't know what's wrong with me..."

In spite of her terrible loss at the last one, playing the games this time around left Shine in a particularly good mood. The self-proclaimed success she'd had with her last partner probably didn't hurt either, pushing her past an emotional line that had only previously been crossed by Rain. Not that it felt the same as her feelings for her ghoulfriend, but...nice nonetheless.
She searched for her name, worrying that she might have signed up wrong in the midst of her excitement. But there she was, right at the bottom, with Willow. Pretty name!
Head tilted, she searched the students with a hm. "Willow," she murmured, debating who the name might fit best.

The tigress had moved to the board hoping the crowd wasn't going to be too bad. Her eyes were skimming the board when she paused hearing her name. "Yes?" She looked towards where she thought her name had come from.
Another ghoul? Her eyes quickly trailed back to the sign up sheet and glanced for who was paired up with her name, "Shine?" She asked curiously her head tilted slightly.

Christof tentatively let go of the cat-boil, brows still furrowed as he glanced to Riyo, giving a fresh grunt and pointed to Deacon as though asking if he was bothering her. He'd be more than happy to escort him out if there was a problem. His finger slipped back into a fist with an ominous crackle to illustrate this before he lowered his hand, eyes darting back to Deacon.

Danny stared at the list, looking over the name Shun, then departed to her table. She didn't really do anything else because her writer is too lazy to create a real reaction.

With a little nod and an even tinier wave, Shine examined her new Question Game partner. She had such a pretty dress, and her hair was so lovely...if only she could keep hers as contained and clean. Coagulated blood just clung to hair in a way that was so very frustrating.

Grabbing Jericho's hand, Shehk hightailed it out of there before Israfel or Freya could say anything, tugging the dragon along with her.
"Yeesh, Israfel thinks everybody is love at first sight." Shehk laughed as she finally slowed down to a more casual pace, glancing across the room carefully, before she looked up at Jericho. "Did I scare you when I started growling....?" she asked finally, tilting her head a bit up at him. Because if she had, she needed to apologize for it.

Willow smiled at Shine as she was being examined, "Lets go have a seat shall we?" The tigress offered, and allowed Shine to lead them to whichever table she preferred.

"I've heard him shouting out those ship names in the past but that was the first time I've actually.. been on the receiving end of that," Jericho said while rubbing his head, casting a glance behind to make sure the two birds of a feather were not following them. They weren't. On that note, he glanced around to see if he was being followed at all by dangerous people. That was also a negative. "Scare? Well, it did.. alert me. I thought you might have picked up on something dangerous. That.. wasn't the case... right?" He was tensing again at the very thought.

"Just layer it a bit, I expect," Barth said, smiling very slightly at Junko.
The whole thing was his fault, but he couldn't have known Calder would take it...like he did. And he wouldn't have normally...during a date, he'd just been caught off-guard. The evening had begun very simply, and he'd hoped- but now everything was muddled.
Barth normally tried to avoid decisions like the plague.
Don't bother coming by at all.
How many more chances? How many strikes? How many ultimatums, and which of them meant anything? What would happen, exactly, if he showed up a few days later because he felt like it. And if that was the end of it, if she didn't want anything to do with him... he watched Calder.
Would that be so bad?
But he thought of her wrapped around him in the ballroom, and things grew fuzzy. He didn't know.
Trust was never wise for a demon, and love hadn't ever factored in his personal equations with Lilith, but....but.
"Calder what- what was it exactly that...upset you so much? Is it...is it being with her at all?" Barth asked.
