As the boo came by and charged at Mort, Shun was just about to attack the floating ball of FEAR, but stopped as Barth took care of it rather nicely. Relaxing, he found himself watching and listening to the others for a few. Being not too familiar with them, he hadn't spotted anything odd initially, but he soon realized that Freya was acting a little strangely. Perhaps it was the fact that he heard her say that she gave up, or the fact that she was now crying, sobbing.

Either way, there was once a sort of fire within her that he saw before that seemed to be missing. It was one similar to the one he saw within Hel.

Narrowing his eyes, the Reaper's gaze shifted over towards the cages. Terrible things must have happened in this tent for the Valkyrie to lose that spark. Grimacing, he stepped closer and wrapped his arms around Mitsu protectively. It could have very well been her in that position, and that thought disturbed him greatly.

He did not envy Herryk in this situation. Not in the slightest.

Herryk felt the tears splash against his skin, but he couldn't look down. He wouldn't allow himself to. It was far too painfully obvious that terrible things had happened in this room. His Freya would not have acted like this if it had been easy for her to cope. His Freya would not be a tearful, sobbing mess if the things that had transpired in this tent had been... had been simple. Easy.

They would need time to deal with all of this. None of Misery Inc. had made it through this event unscathed. They had all be traumatized in one way or another. It was no wonder that Freya was a wreck. It was no wonder that he himself was feeling as if everything was crumbling inside of him.

Sending Mort a small smile, Herryk turned his attention to Freya. He shifted her so that her head was resting on his shoulder. The draugr rocked her like a mother would her child. With the pad of his thumb he wiped away the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

"Herryk never gave up on Freya."

No, not ever. Not even when things had seemed so bleak and hopeless.

"Herryk never gave up on Freya because Freya is worth fighting for. Freya might not think so now," he brushed her hair back from her eyes, finally ready to meet her gaze, "but Herryk will help her remember."

Freya's limp form turned violent as she hurled herself up and tried to climb Herryk in an effort to look into his eyes, but only managed to get herself tangled up in him helplessly. "NO!" She screamed, her words punctuated by sobs. "YEHR WORTH IT, HERRYK! DON'T SAYS THIS TO ME, DON'T YEH DARE!"

She ripped herself away, tumbled back a step, and fell at Mort's feet, curling her legs in in anger. "I didn't gives up because yehr not worth it. Yeh can't say that. Yeh can't."

But he wasn't saying that, not really. Unfortunately, that was what Freya was extracting from his words. Her own worth was not in question, as far as she was concerned - she felt like the failure for giving up because he deserved better, and his own words were reminding her of it. He never gave up on her. All that meant was that she truly had dropped the ball.

Herryk squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his nose as he inhaled deeply. He hadn't been expecting her to get so upset by his words. Dropping his hand to his side, Herryk crouched down in front of Freya.

"Look at Herryk." His tone was commanding. He was not sure how to get through to her, but it was obvious gentle words and soft touches weren't working.

"Look at Herryk, Freya. Now." It was not a question. It was a demand, pure and simple. If she didn't, he would force her to. He wanted his Freya back.

OhJacknowshewascrying. Mort was quite happy to not still be entangled in that situation. Whatever was going on was obviously more than just the cages -

Oh wait. Now he was entangled. Or rather, FreyaAAAH was with his feet sorta. ; A ; Ohjackohjackohjack.

"Y-You're both worth it?" he offered to the pair. "N-No need for the crying . . ."

Freya did not fight the command. She looked up at Herryk with an anguished stare. "What?"

The tent was a mass of traumatic emotion. It was hard to ignore. The grief and pain were thick in the air and Mitsu really wished they had been able to get here sooner. How long had these students been caged anyway? She had honestly come into the tent expecting to see Lizzy, Lattice, and their group but...instead there was Freya, the Kelpie boy she had seen here and there and the boil who had run against Riley for president.

Brows furrowed as the strong emotions hit her hard and Mitsu was all to grateful for when Shun moved forward and wrapped his arms around her. It was like a comforting shield. He kept those overpowering emotions at bay. She had just started to snuggle into his hold when she took notice of the damage that had been done.

Sadly her eyes traced the cut across his chest, her hand reaching up to gently touch just below the area. "W...when did this happen?" She hadn't even realized he had been struck, apparently she had done a poor job of watching his back. Not that she was in much better condition. She hadn't taken nearly as much damage as Riyo but her hoodie was sliced open in a few places and there were angry red cuts beneath those areas as well as across her cheek from the whip.

Speaking of Riyo, Mitsu glanced up to see if she could spot their feline companion still troubled that Hel and Mot weren't with them. She truly hoped they were somewhere safe.

Sin happily leaped free from her cage and sucked in a few deep breaths, oh thank Jack. She never ever wanted to be behind bars again! She looked at Alcie and Julian to be sure they were alright and nodded softly to herself. It was okay, they were okay, Calder, Barth, even Christof was there and everyone was okay. She could have laughed or cried, she could have hugged everyone, but she didn't dare waste her time.

"Let's just...get out of here." She told Julian and glanced at Alcie hoping the water demoness would agree. Sin strode out of the tent determined to give the first fake reaper she saw a little payback.

((Entering the tent, condemning Bul to DEATH))

As soon as he stepped in the tent with an eager look to please; Bul sighed at the sight of blubbering tears and happy liberated faces.

Looks like if anything he'd be giving post-trauma-relief.

[Omg, work, why you take up all of my time? orz]

It was a good thing that Yuki wasn't the only one who had made it into the tent, because in extremely short order of him arriving he'd become useless. He'd begun looking for a key to help rescue everyone, really he had, before the emotional atmosphere within the tent started to get to him.

And by get to him, it sent him into a spell of dizzying nausea that left him unable to do more than ever-so-slowly make his way through the absent Hunters' belongings to try and feel around for anything that just might assist them. All the while trying not to get sick over the sheer amount of negative energy around him, something he couldn't get away from without abandoning the other students that clearly needed all the help they could get.

It was a good thing that the gigantic blade hadn't crashed down where he eventually decided to rest for a minute, because he never would have gotten out of the way in time.

Even as it seemed that their side had been victorious, with the generator destroyed and cages open, the increase in not nearly as negative emotions wasn't helping him feel much different. At least, he supposed, he shouldn't feel much worse now...

If Astra looked for him, the fae would find the ghost crumpled next to a (hopefully harmless) piece of equipment, a few shades whiter than normal and looking very much like he wasn't taking in anything going on around him.

Remaining silent, it wasn't until Mitsu spoke up that he said something as well. Glancing down, he saw that she noticed the cut he acquired outside of the tent. It still stung and the area around it was still likely rather tender, but it wasn't something he couldn't deal with. There had been worse injuries.

"I thought I might be able to sneak past the whip hunter when Herryk was showing off to them," he explained while taking her hand gently, "It's not a very deep cut."

Bringing up his other hand, he carefully placed it over her cheek that had been nicked as well to give it a better look now that the danger was seemingly gone. It didn't look too bad either and he figured it should heal up alright.

He glanced up briefly towards the entrance as he saw Bul walk in.

Frowning a bit Mitsu gave the wound another once over. At least it wasn't deep, much like her own cuts. Her hoodie was what had seen better days.

Feeling the warmth of his hand around hers Mitsu curled her fingers down over his to give his hand a little squeeze. With any luck this was the worst of it and they would get to leave soon.

"What should we do now?" From what she could tell the Hunters had abandoned this area, the students they had captured, and their equipment. The mechanical devices in the area looked rather thrashed so she wasn't entirely certain they would be salvageable. Still though, she had to wonder if any of it would be useful to keep. Would it give them a better insight on what the humans were doing so they could defend themselves?

Then her eyes settled on the clock...no...not a clock. It didn't seem to reflect any normal time. This was a timer. But what was it for? Thinking the equipment was fairly beaten and useless Mitsu pulled away from Shun for a moment to go investigate.

Shun gave Mitsu's hand a gentle squeeze before she pulled away, turning around as something seemed to catch her attention.

"I guess we could try to find things in here that might help us against the hunters," he suggested. It looked like Christof was already on that case. Or at least he was doing something with the generator. Even so, there had to be more in this tent other than cages, the generator, and the tube thing.

Turning around, he walked after Mitsu before staring at the screen that she was approaching.

Was it counting down? Suddenly he wasn't feeling so relaxed any more.

"My eyes aren't just playing tricks on me and this thing is counting down isn't it?" he said with a hint of apprehension in his tone. Letters and numbers had a tendency to look mismatched and whatnot to him but not quite in this fashion.

Okay...things in the tent were getting a little too personal.

Natalia silently watched as one ghoul broke down into the arms of another, a particularly large (and oh so very handsome) boil. Something had shaken obviously her, but having only just arrived left the monster without the slightest clue. Opened cages didn't seem to reflect students having once been in them.

In fact, nothing in the tent seemed to make any sense to the ghoul who stomped angrily through it. She gave the interior another look, turning about slowly to try and make some sense of things...but when she faced the growing crowd once again, the only thing she had noticed was the countdown near the back.

Countdowns were never good.

The beast groaned and whined, fur lifting for a second time in her discomfort, coming close to Mort (and, if they still lingered near him, the two vikings as well) to whisper. "I think we should gooooo.... Her whines grew louder, eyes trailing toward the clock as if trying to alert each and everyone of the students still left standing.
