"Come on, Raku!" Iyasu said aloud as she gave him two firm thrusts along his side to indicate the horse to gallop swiftly. She laughed with glee as she lowered herself closer to the horse's neck to allow more air to pass by her. She hoped with her small frame that she might be a little bit faster than Kibakichi's steed.
Eventually, Iyasu had caught up with Kibakichi. She could feel her braid beginning to unwind and it only excited her more to speed up the process. She loved to feel the wind blowing through her hair for it truly reminded her of home.
"Sayonora Kibakichi-san!" Iy-chan called out to him as she sped past him by a good foot or two.

I watched her pass, laughing I instinctively lowered my body closer to Toto's neck, and I gave him another thrust, with my heels, along his side. I felt Toto straighten out and speed up. We closed the distance between us and Iyasu and Raku, and pass them. (Continued Here)

The geisha watched as Kibakichi's hair was set free from a low tree branch. She wished her own hair was looser than it was, so it too could be in the breeze. Alas, to no avail. More pressing matters were closing in faster than she had anticipated; the forest was breaching and the stables were coming into range.
Iyasu leaned forward, as if her own eye sight was deceiving her, to see the stables. Her hazel eyes blazed with a small hope of at least tying with the fellow. It seemed that the ronin had this in the bag.
'At least we did not wager anything . . . I would have been in a world of hurt if there was a wager.'

I gave Toto a final kick with my heels as we exited the forest. I roared triumphaly as we crossed the finish line, and that was when I noticed a group of well-dressed men, garthered around the main cottage. I pulled back on the reins slowing Toto to a slow walk, I gave them a cold stare as we went by them towards the stables. They had swords at their sides and the crest on their yukatas was that of the Yakuza. I got off Toto, took his reigns, and saddle off, then with a pat on the rump I send him towards the meadows. Toto first drank as much water as he could hold then went on his way. I came back out and saw their horses tied to the stables. I walked towards them putting my hair back up into a ponytail with a spare strip of cloth from within my juban. I smile even though everytime we meet there's always trouble, and greet them with a bow. Good day gentleman. Is there something I can do for you? They return my bow.

Iyasu followed after him, slowly she brought Raku to a trot. They entered into the meadow just as the ronin let a victorious yell. Just as she was about to congratulate him, Kibakichi seemed to be intrigued by a group of men all dressed in similar yukata. Leisurely, she hopped off of the saddle with curious tension building.
'I wonder when they got here . . .' Iy-chan thought as she gently removed the reigns and saddle from the stallion. She placed the items on a near by fence, before returning to Raku's side.
"Thank you for the ride." She giggled as she patted Raku along the neck. She lead him over to the water and let the stallion off to do as he liked. Iyasu gingerly walked over to Kibakichi's side toward the group of men. She bowed to him and greeted them kindly, though cautious about revealing her name.
"Kibakichi-san, may I speak with you?" She asked him aloud, "Alone, perhaps?"

One of the men stepped forward and looked at Iyasu when she spoke and said mockingly to me, but loud enough for the entire group to hear. Including Iyasu. Oh look Ronin's got a new lady friend. Is she another whore you picked up off the street? I growled silently, as they laughed, my upper lip went up, but I put it down as I raised back up. Not taking my eyes the group of men. What is your business here? And if you insult her again I will kill you. I said fiercely to them. I gestured Iyasu to step back as the group surrounded me. The one who insulted Iyasu stepped forward closer to me and said as he circled me. The boss wants to hire your services again, as an assassin. You'll be paid well. I exhale sharply and said calmly. I'm not interested. Give your boss my sincere apologies.

Her eyes blazed with disgust as she cruelly glared to the fellow that insulted her. Only those with such crude behavior came from the under world. However, the gears in her mind began to turn at the reference the loathsome gent coined from Kibakichi's past: 'Ronin's got a new lady friend.'
While in thought, she was ushered behind Kibakichi as he threatened the group if they were to insult again. She smiled inwardly and kept her safety behind the one she cared for most. Iyasu was not thrilled by the events that took place after. She had heard about assassins in Kyoto, even a female one known as Linea Alba. Never, in her wildest dreams, did she think that she would fall for a killer.
"Kibakichi-san? I think we should attend to the horses." The geisha, the artisan and preserver of traditional life, whispered gently into the samurai's ear.

I hesitantly turn my back on the fool who insulted Iyasu and whisper to her. I'm sorry to get you involved in this mess. The man behind her suddenly grabbed her around neck, pulled her back into him, drew his katana, and placed it against her neck. I growled in protest and whipped around, and felt the tip of a sword at my throat. If you want the girl to live you will agree to our demands, and come quietly with us. The guy who insulted Iyasu was the supposed group leader, I guess. My upper lip was raised, revealing my enlarged canines and I growled fiercely at him as my glove-jewel begins to glow. My glove-jewel suddenly releases a bright flash of light, blinding my now opponents. My first concern was Iyasu, not my own, so I spun around to my left, and ludged at the guy holding her hostage. With a fersome roar I grabbed his right hand and pulled the sword away from her neck. Quickly, run, go hide in the stables!!!

She smiled softly to him, "I choose to come down here. You've done noth --" Before Iyasu could finish her sentence, the one who insulted her ruthlessly snatched her away from Kibakichi. The Yakuza held her firmly around the neck, as he drew her back to his chest. She kept her breathing steady and calm, as the familiar sound of unsheathing metal echoed from the gangster's side. Her eyes widened as the cool, grey blade came into view and sluggishly it was pressed against her pale neck.
"Well, aren't you brave? Using a woman to hide behind to force another to help with your master's dirty work." Iyasu scoffed, despite the katana against her throat.
After she spoke, a blinding light appeared from Kibakichi's magic gloved jewel. She took advantage of the blinding effect and elbowed her captor in the groin and then into the stomach. The katana's blade was removed from her throat as she obeyed the Ronin and ran into the stables. Swiftly, she dodged up into the hay loft and buried herself into the hay.

(Domo.) I watched her as she ran to safety, though I wish she would watch me fight, anyway back to the problem at hand. I twisted his wrist, making him drop his sword. I introduced my left fist to the bridge of his nose, hard, you could hear the nose break when I made contact with a loud kiai. He fell to the ground unconscious. I heard footsteps coming from all around me. The flash of the light had worn off, I turned did a backwards handspring out of their way. I turned to the left, dodging a incoming sword with no effort at all, and responded quickly. I kicked straight up with my left leg, my shin hitting his elbows, driving his arms up. I struck him, quickly, several times in the chest and mid-section with my fists, then ending with hard round house kick, the top of my foot, connecting with his temple. As he fell to the ground, I raised up my right forearm, defending aginst the next challenger's attack. His sword clanged against my armored guard, I struck him in the armpit with my left hand, and moved in behind him, and gave him two kicks to the back of the knees. He fell to his knees and I finished him with a hard chop to back of the neck. I turned to face the rest of them, assumed my fighting stance and asked with grin. Who's next?

She could hear the crunching of bones and the yelling of pain from below. Iyasu winced at the sounds and kept herself hidden in the hay, but she could not help wonder how Kibakichi was doing. She prayed secretly to herself that he was safe.

(EDIT) I had no time to dodge as one of remaining Yakuza, ran up to me and pulled an English flint-lock pistol out from underneath his belt. He aimed and fired, the gun went off with a loud resounding bang. I cried out in pain as I felt the lead ball slam into my chest, sending me flying backwards and onto my stomach. My weighted Juban took the brunt of its impact, though it still went through it and punctured the skin, but it was unable to penetrate my thick muscles. I felt my warm blood against my skin, but I didn't move. The group gathered around me and begun to attack me, kicking me in the ribs and stomping on my head.

Gun fire and a cry of pain shattered the defensive crunching of bone and groans of agony. Iyasu scrambled through the hay to peer out in an ajar door from the hay loft. Her hazel eyes scanned the ground below despartely searching for Kibakichi. When her hues finally fell upon him, a dismaying gasp passed by her lips with her hand to cap it afterwards.
'Kibakichi-san!' Her mind screamed and lips mouthed it, not a sound came forth. The shock of him lying there on the ground was still on the tip of the ice burg.

My anger began to rise as I lie there, taking there attacks, my muscles on my sides flexed instinctively whenever their feet made contact. Wait! Let's flip him over and finish him. The one who shot me said. The rest shouted in agreement, I closed my eyes and halted my breathing as they rolled me over. I hear the sound of a sword being drawn, then felt the cool blade on my throat. Then he said. After this, we'll kill that woman, after we have some fun with her, if you know what I mean. We won't be blamed, we'll just say he raped, accidentally killed her, then out of grief, killed himself. That was the last straw, my eyes sprung open when I felt the steel leave my throat. I sprung onto my feet, made a series of gestures ending with my left fist in the air. My glove-jewel shined in the sunlight, then suddenly light exploded from it, covering me in the silver liquid. It hardened quickly, exposing my blue and silver exotically style armor, a set of three tanto-sized blades angled at 25 degrees on the sides of each of my forearms. My katana at my right side, my eyes were the only thing exposed, as the flash faded, revealing myself to the Yakuza and unfortunately Iyasu. I lowered my fist, threw my head and roared. My assailants jumped back at the inhuman sound. I could the sound of blades being drawn around me, in response, I pulled my katana out from underneath my belt, locking my sword within my scabbard; the scabbard glowed and became a bokken, and I assumed my fighting stance, my right foot forward, my sword pointed backwards. I saw them raise their swords to attack, and I surged forward towards the man closest to me. I swung up diagonally; you could hear his bones break as I struck him in ribs. I ducked underneath a swung blade, from someone else, and tripped the man I was working on. As he fell down I struck again, breaking his right arm. He screamed in pain and I coiled my legs beneath me, and sprung into the air. As I fell, I brought my bokken straight down on the crown of the nearest guy’s head, he crumpled to the ground. I backed up defending against the 4 remaining men, then in several quick strikes three of them dropped their swords and fell to the ground. I unlocked my hilt and drew my sword, dropping the bokken scabbard; the cutting edge glowing dim blue, and with a ferocious roar, I charged the last remaining man. Our swords connected and I pushed him all the way to cottage, and slammed him into the wall. In a flash my sword was at his throat. Take your men and leave, or blood will be spilt. Tell your boss, that he tries to get back at me for today. I’ll hunt him down and kill him, and anyone foolish enough to get in my way. Understand? I growled, he shook his head frantically in response. I released him and watched him load his injured or unconscious allies onto their horses, and they took off. I walked over, picked up my scabbard, and sheathed my sword. The bokken scabbard changed back as I slipped the scabbard underneath my belt, went over and picked the pistol, examining it. I could feel the bullet, still lodged in my chest, it didn’t bother me during the fight, but it was beginning to ache now.

Iyasu watched as the rest of the group fled, however she was curious to see who this being was before her. He did not seem like Kibakichi at all, in yet he oddly was. Cautiously, the geisha headed down the hay loft and toward the opening of the barn.
"Kibakich-san?" Iyasu called out, though softly.
