James was pearched in a tree...Somewhere, he didn't know. He had just found the animal he'd been tracking for a day now. 'You're mine this time.' He let his mind creep to the animal, but stopped. 'It's looks like a deer, but something is off about it...Oh well, I'm sure it tastes just the same.' He snapped it's neck with a quick jerk of his head. He got down out of the tree and set a small fire. "Time to cook." He said to himself as he finished cleaning the deer. He set some of the meat on some branches and began smoking the meat. Soon the air was filled with the smell of cooking meat. He looked up and saw the smoke rising high into the sky. "Wow...I bet people on the mountains could see the smoke." He laughed a little. He'd been alone since he could remember, thinking of other people made him a bit uneasy...

He was in the process of a big stretch when a girl called out a howdy. He jumped a little and shot around the tree to hide. 'Damn, damn, damn...I knew it.' He calmed down a little and poked his head around the tree. She was still coming...Oh well. He stepped out from behind the tree and waved a hand in return. "You hungry!?"

- Shannon Silverstar -
The midnight black mare trotted on over to the man slowly, before it came to a stop a few feet away. Shannon grinned at the man there at his returned wave, that was enough to give her a sense of comfort knowing he wasn't going to try and kill her next! There were far to many strange people in this world so far! The young cowgirl slid down from Silver, and let her go graze in the grass. That horse was very loyal, she didn't need to be tied. "Why sure! What'cha got cookin'? I'll get some drink's made. We'll have a nice cook out in the wild. " She laughed, though it was't exactly desert, it was good enough. She went over to the saddle bags, pulling out two metal cups, and a package of some sort of mix, along with a larger pot and some water. Thank the heavens she had geared up before her adventures back at home. "I'm Shannon Silverstar, and this here in Silver. " She gestured to the black horse that was now eating at the grass. There was no hay around, but she still loved her grass!
((ooc: Yep, It's Aerith here. 'nother name I rarely used so changed it to this. XD ))

He smiled as she said her and the horses names. "James." He said softly. "And I must say, you have a beautiful horse." He looked to the animal he had cleaned a few minutes ago. "I'm thinking it's a deer...So I hope it's good to eat." He chuckled a little, more out of nerves than anything. He lloked again the the deer in question. 'Crap...There are no visible wounds...I hope she don't notice...' He walked the few steps to the meat and poked it. "Almost ready." He said as he flipped it with his mind...With the help of his hand.
(...How many do you have?...lol. And what I was trying to get at with the last sentence was that he flipped the meat with his hand, but he didn't touch it...I don't know if you got that...I'm not very good at explaining things...lol)

Shannon smiled as she sat down the items there on the ground. "Thank you! She is wonderful, very friendly too! Oh, and it's nice to meet you, James! You're the first kind person I've met yet." She giggled at that, then glanced toward the 'deer' there. "Hmm.. I don't think that's a deer." She looked it over a bit, looking for some form of a wound. She herself wasn't exactly a hunter or a fan of it at all, but...she did understand when you were out in the middle of no where, you did need to eat. So she wouldn't say anything! Thank the heavens she wasn't Azura. The blond watched curiously as he flipped the meat over without really even touching it! "How did you do that? " She asked as she began to set the water in the pot, and setting some coffee into the pot, then setting that over the fire with a portal little wrack she brought along with her, keep it away form the cooking 'deer' there so it could heat up.
((ooc: Hehe. To many. xD This name used to be Callie Briggs, and never ever used it so just changed it for this girl. And yep, I get it. ^^ At least I think so! Like they do in movies, moving there hand and a little telekinesis force moves the thing they want to move right? lol. ))

He sighed mentally. "Well since the cat's out of the bag already, I guess I can tell you. But you can't say anything to anyone, or I might be a target." He focused his mind and aimed high into the tree. He 'gripped' a branch and jerked back and the branch snapped off and fell into his hand. "I'm telekinetic." He focused again and the branch caught fire. "And pyrokenetic..." He smiled sheepishly and tossed the burning branch into the fire, intencifing the smoke.
(Exactly. Right on the head...Though I just remembered the term for that 'slight of hand'.)

He shook his head. "Not a gift. I learned it." He smiled a little, not meaning to brag at all... "And thank you." He sat down on the ground and watched as the meat finished cooking. He spied a rock a little ways away that looked big enough to split into two peices. He focused on the rock and it shimmied it's way out of the ground and came to him. He couldn't help but to show off a little. "Plate?" He asked and he slowly sucked in a breath. He felt the rock, feeling for a midpoint. Finding it, he struck. As he took his hand back the rock split into two slabs of fairly smooth eating surfaces. "That's kind-of a gift..."

An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw A-plowing through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw
Their brands were still on fire and their hooves were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky For he saw the Riders coming hard and he heard their mournful cry
Yippie yi Ohhhhh Yippie yi yaaaaay Ghost Riders in the sky - Shannon Silverstar - "Learned it? How? Can you teach me??" Moving things with her mind just sounded like far to much fun. Who got chances like that in her world? She was just a regular human, no powers, nothing but her guns and her horse. Shannon watched what he did with the rock, growing far more impressed with his abilities. Very useful! "Ah, nice! " She laughed some, starting to pour there drinks into the two metal camping like cups. "Yeah, I definitely hope this things safe to eat. So strange!"
Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred, their shirts all soaked with sweat He's riding hard to catch that herd, but he ain't caught 'em yet 'Cause they've got to ride forever on that range up in the sky On horses snorting fire As they ride on hear their cry
As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name If you want to save your soul from Hell a-riding on our range Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride Trying to catch the Devil's herd, across these endless skies

He chuckled. "I don't know how to go about teaching it, but...I do know where to get the same book I learned from." A sudden realization hit him like a two-ton brick. He was suppost to look for his family, not flirt and show off to a girl he's never seen before! The sheer anguish shown on his face, though he was quick to 'wipe' it off. He turned his hand over and floated a stick on fire absentmindedly.

"Oh! That would be a thing to buy, then. Maybe you can show me where or tell me where you bought it? " She didn't exactly know the area's, but she knew she could find it ether way, she was good at navigating and finding places! That was all she ever did after all, wandered around places until she found a area to explore or rest at, then start all over again. She glanced back at him, noticing the look of anguish upon his face. "Is something wrong?"
