I don't make many of my characters have too depressing backstories anymore. I kind of got bored of the whole Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu sad story stuff after I made Adrian Darcy, who had a great childhood, but became immortal, and watched his family die off as he lived. Even my serial killer had nice parents, but killed his father at the age of thirteen because his father took his mother's attention away from him, the only child.

Yeah, I have like 20 characters in another guild since I am the vice captain and have to keep the guild active while the captain is gone, most of them had pretty decent lives, some crazy, and some a little sad. I try to mix it up a bit.

I don't like having depressing backstories. Other RPers always assume the worst when they do. That's why I always try to keep them somewhat normal. I'm captain and owner of two guilds, acting captain of two more, and a vice captain of I think two, and I try to keep all their individual characters unique to the guild, so I get the whole characters thing. But I find I get more offers to RP when my characters have interesting, and not wholly depressing backstories.

Yeah, I noticed that, It's why most my characters in that guild have interesting pasts but not depressing, they get noticed more like my happy little Italian I have there.

Or when they have interesting jobs. I currently have two Korean pop stars, both in a five person group. One is currently in a strange relationship that includes split-personalities, the other just became a guardian of a little boy no older than five or six with a terrible story to tell that wasn't supposed to actually stay in the story. He isn't with anyone yet, but he's just... he's a handful -.-'
It also helps that Lock is wonderfully outgoing and a successful ladies' man, whereas Ellery is his best friend with a serious, cynical, and slightly rude disposition and a socially awkward way of dealing with things.

Wow, they are complete opposites. But it makes sense that they are friends then, they would clash too much if they were too much alike.

Well, Lock does it to cover up the loneliness in growing up a wealthy child with working parents. He knows that he was lucky for what he has, but he hates that his mother always put work before him. Ellery's that way because when he was younger, his little brother ran away and went missing, and he lost all faith in the world for never finding him. To them, they're all they really have.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense then.

You know, maybe Michael and Ellery could meet each other at one point. I think they'd be pretty interesting friends.

Now, to decide when and where! Right now, he's about to go to bed, but the next day, he and Daniel will be all alone. They can meet each other then. What about the amusement park?

Oh no, wait, that's a bad place. Never mind. I'll tell you once Ellery and Daniel leave the next day. Anyway, it'll take a while, so don't worry too much about it.

ʗαʀιɲα♥ʗαʗєყ ~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~✿~ When Carina found and exit to the roof, she looked around and then passed through it. She didn't expect anyone to be up here, but she was too curious to resist. Plus, she soon found that she was wrong. There was someone else up here. And he appeared to be a teacher or something. Carina gasped a little, hoping she hadn't disturbed him. She watched him stare at the sky for a brief moment, realizing he hadn't noticed her yet. She wanted to keep it that way, so she quietly kept walking.{Exit to Roof Garden}
