Haldia pointed at the snowman in Miyu's hands and asked a question in her own tongue.
"Yes, such as that," Aragost replied for Miyu. "And much, much more."
Haldia nodded thoughtfully. She thought it would be wonderful to see, to do those sorts of things. Winter, she knew, was still a while away. Perhaps after their visit to the Eastland, she would be able to see it.

Miyu smiled looking at the snowman, "I'm told the snow here is a lot, a lot more than we ever get back home."
Home was probably the perfect amount of snow, she wasn't so sure about being buried into it where she would be stuck indoors.

Haldia asked another question, and Aragost translated for her once more.
"She would like to know how much snow you get where you live," he said softly. "More than at Amon Darthir, certainly. Perhaps less than here?"

"Up to... ten inches on a good day?" Toshiro glanced at Miyu.
It really depended on the weather there, but to him that sounded about right.
"I think that's the most we've gotten in a day," Miyu agreed, "So... up to our legs but not to the point where we're stuck indoors."

Still, to Haldia that seemed an awful lot, especially as she had never seen more than a very light dusting. The snow on Amon Darthir had melted almost as quickly as it had hit the ground.
She grinned at Miyu. "Es goot, see," she said, trying to say that she would like to see it.

Miyu looked thoughtful, "Maybe you will get to see the winter here?"
She didn't know about her going to the Eastland and even she did, even Miyu would have to agree Haldia would probably make it back in time.

Haldia smiled widely and nodded. She spoke in her own language, and once more Aragost translated for her.
"She will be going with Lin, Earendil, and the others to visit the Eastland," he explained, "and then she will be spending the winter here. After that, she is not sure what she will be doing. She may return home, she may find a place to stay here somewhere. But she will definitely be spending the winter here."
Haldia added something else, and Aragost chuckled.
"She is hoping that someone can show her how to play in the snow."

Miyu giggled at that, she wished she could but who knows when would be the next time she would ever come back here?
"That sounds like fun," she murmured softly.
Lothiriel lived in the Eastland Miyu knew, she had not seen Lothiriel or Pen since the marriage of Elnara and Lore.

Haldia asked another question, and even Aragost looked curious now.
"Miyu," he said softly, "Haldia was wondering if you were interested in ever traveling. Perhaps not far, but ever at all."

"Mi?"
In truth Miyu hadn't ever thought about it before, and it hadn't occurred to her since she had so much trouble keeping her calm.
"I... haven't thought about it."

Haldia smiled and shrugged. It had just been a thought, after all. She glanced over at Aragost and spoke to him again, and he nodded. Haldia rose to her feet and smiled at Miyu, then waved at her and Toshiro and left the room, closing the door behind her.
Aragost smiled at Miyu. "She thought she would give us some time to visit in private," he murmured. "After all, you were here to visit me, weren't you?"
He chuckled softly.

Miyu nodded wondering what Haldia had been thinking before she left.
"Yes, mi... Grandfather and Grandmother came with the twins to surprise Auntie."
It seemed like a great fun thing to do, though she didn't get to see the look on Lin's face.

"I am certain that Lin would enjoy that," Aragost nodded slowly, turning his face towards the window. "It has been a long time since she has been able to spend much time with them. She was not home long before she returned here."
Time passed, and eventually Miyuki was ready for more traveling and visiting. Earendil helped Lin to get her ready to go again.
"How long has it been since you've seen Cindy?" he asked Lin as they got ready to go. "She didn't come outside yesterday when we arrived, at least not before we came here."

Lin thought about it for a moment, "Six years, since I came here to train after I grew my wings. So... six years and a few weeks probably."
Which was just about the normal about of time.
"The time between is probably longer for her though, I mean it's been over a year in Gaia since she went to help teach Rhea and Rhea was a kid! Now Rhea is going to get married."
Which said a lot to time differences.

Earendil smiled. "Well. She knows what she's getting into, and we know that she knows now, so I just hope that everything ends up the way she hopes it does. Honestly, I can't imagine a ruler like him, but ..."
Well, to be honest, he just couldn't deny the facts.
"Do you want me to take Miyuki?" he offered, looking over at Lin.
