Everyday, in and out, card clip there, clipboard check here.
"I hate it."
A plump C.O looked up from his desk, bagel half in half out of his face. "Mhats maat?" His words muffled and choked, himself still trying to shovel food into his mouth. Lev looked up, his eyes wide, a strange smile creeping to his lips.
"I hate it. And i hate you."
The Dashworth factory corporation had gone on for a good 20 years. A fine run for a business centered around computer hardware and design, but nothing big, not a juggernaut. No Microsoft to be sure.
Leviathan Cortez pushed himself calmly to his feet, others beginning to swivel their chairs, beady eyes once glazed to flashing screens now blinking, aware of something strange occuring. The executives room was a large, low ceiling square, holding over 42 cubicles, including three offices and two lounge areas. Electricity could literally be heard in the air, humming and vibrant, alive and flowing into so much hardware. The lights even seemed to breath, sighing in their own current.
So aggravating..
"I hate your fat a** Mr. Fernmark." Lev was an imposing man at 6'8, but Mr. Fernmark was head honcho for a reason. The bagel was even set aside Lev noticed slyly, the grin widening. Fernmark stood, waddling over to Lev, having to look up to get eye to eye.
The room had grown silent, and yet 67 people were on staff today, not a breath passing one's lips.
This was quality entertainment to be sure.
"Your fired Cortez. Get the hell out of my sight." Fernmark smiled, thinking to himself, 'That'll show this p***k. Wanted to find a way to fire him and here it is, the big gun show gone'.
Lev spit on Fernmark's shoe, then proceeded to knee him in the stomach. Fermark guffawed, and an entire room gasped in unison, someone yelling out, a few others rushing forward.
The lights flickered once, twice, out.
The darkness was thick, confused screams and muffled curses at work now lost clamored and lifted the black air into even more din chaos.
Chk-chk-chk-chk-CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK..
The only light source silenced the room for the second and final time this evening, Leviathan Cortez completely illuminated, his skeleton a blinding azure, his flesh almost aflame.
"I hate all of you as well."
Lightning filled the room.
--
Lev wandered out into the rain, letting it slap his face, his hands. He was steaming, and his throat was awful parched. "I guess it's time i move on.." Lev thought, walking on into the darkness, leading on into the nothing down the road.
The headaches had began the night of the meteor shower, only becoming more frequent, more rapid. Lev had to let it out, this anger, this build up of energy.
"What a fine way to kick the hay this evenin'!"
Fire engines passed him along with police cars, screeching and raising hell, but it was all for nothing, the Dashworth building already three stories down, ash cindering into the flash of rain, the electrical fire still raging, still burning.
Still killing.
"It's time we move on to bigger things Lev." Lev said to himself, rubbing at his neck as the rain slammed over him, beating into his brains a tempo."Time to be numero uno."
Lev's laugh crippled the night, rising against the rain like the column of smoke behind him.

Tansy paused. her eyes widened as she heard voices screaming into her head. Her vision of the guest room blurred as a building on fire came into view. She gasped as her hand reached out and grabbed on Gidget's arm. "There is a fire down town. The Dashworth building." She blinked rapidly as she looked at the young girl. "There isn't time. Tell your brother where I've gone..." She nodded to her as she turned and opened the window. Jumping our, she quickly spread her wings and took off towards the fire.

Lily Stinson

Lily smirked as she heard his question, she really didn't know how to answer it, but he was right, her mother hated all her activities. Everything she did was wrong and ill mannered for a girl of her stature to be doing. I wish you'd just accept the fact I'm not a princess. she thought to herself as she walked behind Ako, letting the doors fall closed behind her.

As she did, she noticed a fire truck siren roaring near by, it was a little too close for comfort, she hated when 'accidents' like these struck near her, it made her want to hunt down the siren and try to fight the fire with her bare hands. She sighed as she puffed a big sigh, causing her bangs to blow out of her face once again. "My mother thinks I should be pretty in pink. She wants me to be a pretty princess, and that's just not who I am. I didn't ask to be born female." she huffed as she walked to the counter to make her unhealthy order.

"Yes, I'll have a coffee black, and your biggest chocolate chip cookie." she said with a grin, pulling a small handful of bills out of her pocket. "Oh, and whatever Iron Giant is going to have too." she said with a wink as she put a 20 on the counter, knowing it would most likely cover the price.

As Lily waited for Ako to answer, she looked out the glass doors once again, she could see the flashy lights going around a nearby corner. A police car, this only added to her concern. What was going on out there? She averted her brown eyes back to Ako, wondering if he would have any idea what has been going on with all the recent chaos in the city.

Ako didn't have much time to think over what she'd said before he'd heard the sirens. His first thought was that they were heading to Mr. Ray's destroyed HQ, but that was stupid. That fire surely would have been contained hours ago, and those sirens were speeding like a fire had been lit directly under them.

"Sir..."

He knew he should try and follow them, or go get the others. Maybe they could help. He personally might not have the best powers to help, on that note, neither did Annie, or Gidget, but maybe Garret or Tansy could be of use..

"Sir!"

Ako turned to the voice to see it was the barista looking straight at him, and a line was starting to form behind him. "Oh, sorry. Uh, just uh, just gimme some tea."

The barista looked at him for a second before fetching him a cup of steaming water and pointing to the line of containers filled with different flavors of tea. "Oh, thanks."

Gidget chases Tansy toward the window and shouts, "Tansy wait!" She bites her bottom lip and goes running into the kitchen. "Garret, Shane, Tansy just jumped out the window saying something about a fire at the...oh what was it...Danish building."

With technical swiftness, Shane pulls out a pocket PDA and within seconds has the location of the fire. One of the many gifts he has received from the organization he works for. He rolls his eyes and looks at Gidget, Dashworth building, goober. What does she hope to do on her own? Damnit, Gidget you're coming with me. Garret, take my cell phone and dial the first number on the contact list when you make it to the scene. I hate to do this to you, but I need you to be my eyes and ears. Do whatever you can to get there as quickly as possible. I'm sorry...c'mon Gidget."

Gidget looks at Garret quickly saying, "Be careful Garret." She turns and follows after Shane to wherever it is he was taking her.

((lol. I feel like such a drama queen.... ))

Tansy followed the smoke to where the building was. She aimed her flight and closed her eyes, flying through one of the windows. She rolled along the ground before she jumped to her feet. "Hello?" She called out as she covered her mouth with her hand to keep herself from breathing in to much smoke. She blinked, her eyes burning. "HELLO!" She called out louder as she moved through the smoke. She let out a small squeak as she felt the building move under her feet. The whole place might go down. She frowned as she stopped and closed her eyes for a moment. She imagined herself moving floor by floor looking for life. 'Please God, I don't want to die.' Tansy's eyes opened as she looked for where the voice came from. Without though, her feet began to move, and she let them. Moving to the stairs, she ran down two flights before she came to the elevator door. She looked at it for a moment. "HELLO!" She called out as loud as she could, before pressing her ear to the door.

"Oh God someone is out there."
"Please, get us out!" Someone began to pound on the door.

"It's okay. I'll get you!" Tansy looked around before she grabbed onto the doors. She let out a grunt as she forced the doors to open, her arms shaking from the pressure. "Stay low to the ground, and crawl out one at a time, but be quick, I can't hold these open for too long."

As Annie walked out of the building she heard sirens through the pounding rain. "Seriously," she muttered under her breath, her accent heavy, "It's raining."

As she stepped into the rain, she glanced down the street to where there were a dozen coffee shops and then her eyes followed the sound of the sirens to the smoke. She heard a group of students talking- two girls and two guys, maybe a double date?- "Did you hear? First that building owned by Charles Ray comes down and now the Dashworth building..." "Terrorist, it could be terrorist." "God, don't be so melodramatic."

Annie raised an eyebrow overhearing the conversation and spoke up, "Do you know if anyone is in there?"

They looked at her strange, "How the Hell should I know?"

"Right," said Annie walking off. After a split second she decided to follow the sound of the sirens, her pace was almost a light jog as she pushed past the few people braving the rain on the street. She turned the corner, noticing the smoke getting worse, she sped up, practically jogging, ducking her head from the rain, when she hit solid muscle. "Oh my God!" Annie said, "Ouch... that hurt like the dickens..." She glanced up and up... how tall was he? Over six and a half feet at least...

She quickly said as she began to push herself up, "So, sorry sir... I was rushin' and... I'm just an idiot. Are you okay, sir?"
PostPosted: Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:42 am

One by one they crawled out from the elevator. After checking one last time, she let the doors slam closed and turned to make sure they were safe. She couldn't see them anymore, but that didn't mean anything. "You guys okay?!" She called out through the smoke. Her lungs were burning now, and her eye sight blurry from her own tears. She closed her eyes and searched with her mind once more. Hey, it worked before. She bounced from mind to mind, watching them run out the front door. She sighed softly with relief when something else caught her attention.

Her eyes snapped open just in time to feel the floor under her give way. She screamed as her wings shot open to soften her fall. She coughed violently, her body shaking. Her feet back on somewhat stable ground, she could hear coughing from somewhere else. Moving over to the pile of rubble, she threw it off piece by piece to find a man. "I've got you Sir, hold on." She removed the rest of the burning log from him, wincing as she did so, and scooped him into her arms as gently as she could. He was a big man, and if Tansy wasn't stronger then the average person, she wouldn't have been able to do so...

"The whole place to going to come down!"

Tansy frowned. With the man in her arms, she ran, full speed towards the window and jumped out. Her wings instantly began to beat, the rain pouring down cleaned her feathers, which had become almost black. She heard the sirens, and the gasp from the people below her. She had exited from the wrong side....

Quickly, her eyes scanned the group below her, but she already saw trouble. A news van. Cameras... damn it. She had very little of a choice... She had to get this man medical attention. She could just fly him to... YES! She zoomed off, hoping that the camera didn't get a good enough shot of her face.

Garret pocketed the cell as Shane brushed past him with Gidget. He went into the bathroom and searched the medicine cabinet. He found just what he wanted but only it wasn't one of those plastic cases. A mini first aid kit. He checked in it and found the basic medical necessities: Gauze, bandaids, a little tube of iodine, some tweezers and a suture. Satisfied with his find, he jogged to the window with a fire esape and opened the window.

He made his way down the fire escape as quickly as he could, taking the stairs down in jumps. He reached bottom of the fire-escape and ran down the sidewalk keeping an eye out for Annie. He fingered the cell phone as he dodged a biker and couple holding hands. They reminded him of his parents. He pushed it aside and tried to focus on the now. He spotted Annie and ran quicker to catch up with her, only to see as he got closer that she ran into a very tall man. Garret looked up and saw the smoke rising. 'Oh no! I have to hurry.' He was closing the gap between him and the fire. And Tansy. He hoped that whatever she was doing, she would make it through alright. Without being seen.

Lily Stinson

She watched as Ako froze in hesitation, it was hard to tell if he was simply deciding, or going back in time through his head. Which ever it was, a strange look crossed Lilies face as she heard his final order. She could help but crack a smile as the barista pointed to the small line of flavored tea. Good enough reason for me not to drink it... I would be just as lost. she thought to herself, she knew her father was a tea drinker, along with a hearty cup of coffee.. Oh what was it he use to drink.. Gah, remember Lily!

As she thought about what her fathers favorite cup of tea was, the barista handed her change back from her 20. Wasn't much, everything in these small coffee shops where always over priced. After all, five dollars for a cup of black coffee? For that price she could of went and bought a can of coffee that would of made over 100 cups. "I'm going to sit down, 'Kay Ako?" she said with a smile as she went and took her seat in the middle booth.

Grey Earl.. That's his tea! she thought with a smile as she stirred at her coffee. Even though it didn't have any creamer or sugars in it, it was always fun to stir. She watched as even more emergency cars sped past. What ever happend was beginning to look like a serious event. "Speeding in all this rain, that cannot be a good sign. Wait.. When did it start raining?" she asked herself as she watched the translucent drops fall pass the window. It must of been recent, because when she came inside the clouds had just covered her head. Strange how quickly a storm can form.

Tansy sighed as she watched the man begin placed on a stretcher from around the corner. She had placed him close enough to the hospital without being spotted to get him in right away. Although a few people had staid behind to look for who had dropped him off. She nodded to herself as she jumped back into the air and flew back to the burning building, coming from behind as to not be spotted again. She landed on the roof of a building not to far away and mentally searched once more. She didn't feel anything, nor did she hear a voice crying for help. She relaxed. If there had been anyone left inside... try would be gone by now...

She stood in the rain, her hair plastered to her face, as she watched another two floors of the tall building collapse. She turned from it, starting to walk away when she heard someone cry out from the street. "He's going to jump!" "Get the stretcher!" "There's no time!" And a gasp from the crowd. Tansy ran back to the edge jump as the man jumped from the window. her eyes widened as she took a few steps back and jumped off. She dove to catch up with him, and grabbed onto his arm. Time was running out. She pulled him to her chest as she adjusted her wings to swoop along the road. She landed a few feet away from the crowd. "Sir.. Sir are you okay?"

Ako made his tea and took a seat across the table from Lily, trying to ignore the sirens. There was a feeling on the back of his neck, one he'd never had before. It was similar to the feeling he got when he was near a power station, or anything using high voltage, but it was different. This signature was more powerful, and it was... moving.

"Something feels wrong." He said quietly so only she would hear. "Like it's not just a fire. Something, someone caused it. And not just a normal arsonist." He took a drink from the cup, hoping to calm himself so he could think. This plan backfired, however, when he realized the tea was still hot. He swallowed hard and brought a hand up to his throat. "Ow."

Lily Stinson

Lily sighed as she looked at her coffee and muffin. She knew her mother wouldn't agree with what she was about to say next, but the girl had to do something, it this guy thought something was wrong, and it sounded a little crazy, but she had already seen what he could do. So really, what was crazy anymore? If there is a God, don't let my mother know about what is going to happen next.

"It's hot, but that is beside the point. If something is wrong, and it's someone like.. you... Then we should really go and see? What would be the harm? If it is a normal fire, then no harm no fowl, and if it is something more, then I don't want to be responsible for it happening again. Come'n!" she said almost to quick for understanding, but before long she rose up on her feet and ran out the doors.

It wasn't moments she was up the street three cars, a bubble gum pink Pocket Bike: AS-PB-26 was locked up nice and tight in the free space. It had along with the pink paint a sweet series of purple bubbles, defiantly a chicks bike, the only reason she had it painted the way it was so people would know that it was a chicks bikes. All her bikes but one was this way. She looked down the street to see if Ako was coming or not.

As she waited for him, she bit her lip. Her mind crossing over to what she was about to do. She was going towards something so dangerous her mother wouldn't think twice about bringing her home and making her live a life of constant supervision. Saying she is far to immature to be on her own. She could hear the sirens close by, even hear the shouts of working men trying to save those inside the burning building.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 04, 2010 9:51 pm

It actually took Ako a second to process what she'd just said, and before he could voice his protest, she was already out the door. People started to look towards him, probably wondering why the attractive girl just had to run from the shady looking guy. With a sigh, he stood up to follow her, leaving his tea still steaming on the table.

He didn't want to fight so soon after the battle last night, he was more of a thinker or lover than a fighter. The lesson he'd seen in the few comics he'd read seemed to be true, though; he and his friends had powers now, and so did other, less honorable people who needed to be controlled.

He saw the bike Lily was sitting on and sighed again. "There is absolutely no way I'm fitting on that thing." He said. She had a point, though; any kind of bike would be faster than walking. He saw another bike, a Yamaha, close by that might be a better fit. "Let's try this one, and I'll drive." He went over to the bike to get a better look, quickly tracing the electrical system to find the starter motor. He wiped the rain off the seat and got on, reaching down to give the starter a jolt. The engine started right up, and he now became aware of the power it must have.

He knew it was dangerous to ride in the rain, especially when he'd never ridden before, but he'd learned to drive a car just from reading about it, and drove for the first time in the rain without hitting a thing. Within a day he'd gotten the nerve to get the car up to and over 70 on a 30mph road. He figured he was actually better prepared for the bike, having ridden pedal bikes since he was four, and ATVs since he was thirteen. He knew handle bars, he knew balance, and he understood how a clutch worked.

Besides, it was raining. He could feel the energy in the clouds overhead, and he knew he could do anything.

Lily Stinson

Lily idly let her fingers drift over the handle bars of her bike, sighing, he did have a point. But this was grand theft Auto, it was a crime. Realizing this, she began to look around rather alertly, biting her lip even harder, and here her mother thought she was bad. "This is GTA! Are you kidding me!?" she asked as she tossed her hands to her side to make her point.

Thought she had to admit, if he was right, then he would have to stop the guy. There was no way she was going to miss this. She groaned, tossing her shoulders back and stepped closer, hearing the bike roar to life. Her eyes widen as she looked around, feeling as if the owner of the bike would be coming to claim it soon.

"You have never ridden a motorcycle before. What makes you think I am going to let you wreck something prettier then your face?" she joked, she couldn't let him drive for the first time in the rain, that was suicide, there was a reason parents hated seeing their children ride these things, they are death traps. "Don't argue it with me. I've been riding since I was fourteen. I can get us there quicker and safer then you." she said again, trying to get her point across, no way did she want to get on the bike with someone who had made it clear earlier he had never ridden a bike before.

However, her comments where going on deaf ears it felt like. All she could hear was the thunder and drumming rain. She couldn't even hear herself, much less him hear her. So, shaking her head she climbed on the back of the bike, tossing all fears aside. whats the worse that can happen, right? Stop being such a coward now, Lily, it's not a big deal, he's ridden ATVs... They are similar.. Four wheels instead of two, but yea.. she thought to herself trying to be reassuring. A failed attempt.
