Kal attempts to leap from the shadows and strike the otherworldly creatures from its backside!

1 Minor damage to the shade, Kal is left off-balance, the other shade lashes out and drains more strength from the halfling.
2-5 Moderate Damage to the shade. Bringing both to critical condition.
6 Critical Hit. The shade dissolves as its unclear vital areas are pierced by the magical dagger.

Results:The shade shrieks in pain as its insides are ravaged by the halfling's magic dagger. The shadow creature fades into nothing as it departs this world. One shade remains.

The rumbling from the audience chamber began anew, this time a hundred fold. As the room shook, the door at the end of the chamber splintered into thousands of wooden shards. From behind the darkness revealed an enormous skeletal monstrosity. It stood a good ten feet tall with scythe-like bone hands and dead black eyes..



A Bone Golem...

A piece of splintered wood flashes by Erron's right ear as the Bone Golem literally tears the door at the end of the audience chamber apart, he peers over the shoulder of the distracted shade who watched as it's second brethren dissolved into nothingness and his eyes widen at the spectacle.

He looks at Tjaden and says "I don't think closed quarters is going to be much good against that thing unless walking into a blender is conventional strategy."

He looked at the final shade and aimed what he hoped would be the finishing blow carefully, the oncoming golem would not be an easy opponent on its own and with a shade hanging in the sides it could certainly make things difficult

Tjaden watched with grim dissatisfaction as the other end of the room was torn to pieces by the abomination's entrance. He had never heard of a blender, but considering the monstrosity's apparent ability to destroy whatever stood in his way, he figured Erron was referring to something dangerous.

As the last shade dissolved, Tjaden raised his sword high,quickly looking around them to see what they had to work with in the audience chamber. He also stepped forward, shield before him so that he was closest to the creature.

"Unless a more effective strategy can be presented, may I restate my earlier plan of withdrawing into the staircase?" Tjaden asked tentatively.

Kal nodded and ran back to the staircase, his Blur still in effect.

Erron nodded and started backing towards the staircase slowly so as not to startle the golem into charging at them, he quickly said loud enough for the people behind him to hear.

"Ronus, we're probably going to need some holy power on this one, aren't the no-longer-living-but-still-amongst-us your specialty?"

Selce had moved to the stairs when Tjaden first mentioned it. It would afford her a well enough view to help, and still be safely back. But as she started to mount the first step her foot slipped and fell. The last thing she remembered was the blackness taking her. A loud roar woke her up in time to dizzily stand up and look behind her. A monstrous golem made of many skeletons. With a grim understanding and not hearing the fight with the shades to the sides of the stairs she brandished her staff and pointed at the golem. She cast a FLAME ARROW spell at the thing and leaned heavily on the right wall. As far as she could tell she wasn't hurt except for a small headache.

Kal watched the boney beast run towards Ronus, uncaring if it ran him over. There wasn't anything Kal could do to save Ronus anyhow, but Kal knew that right now, his main objective was saving his hide and getting to that ball thing to hopefully finish the job.

While Kal stood down Erron sprung into action, running at the dwarf he leaped, throwing all of his weight as he grabbed Ronus by his collar to hopefully get them both out of the path of the golem. (Roll or dont?)

Erron shouted as he ran. "Selce. you're going to need to cast something with a physical impact! Think of this thing as a slightly larger pile of bones!"

Selce nodded her understanding and began another spell. She didn't have a spell that would cause a direct physical impact except for a fireball, and not wanting to immolate Erron or Ronus, she instead cast a lightning bolt. She hoped the bolt would do some damage this time.

Tjaden was a split second slower to react than Erron. The beast began to charge Ronus and though Tjaden wished to help, he knew his interference could cost Selce the shot. He had to keep the lines of fire open. He instead kept his position where he could intercept if the creature charged the steps where Kal and Slece where or rush to help Erron if the rescue did not go so well. He kept the light stretched high so as to illuminate Selce's shot and prayed that it found its mark.
