It's just a summer reading program. You do it for fun. And you get free prizes if you finish reading this number of books or something (for kids, it's every 6 hours you read.).

They're like free passes, coupons, etc. They're okay, but every year, one prize is a free (new) book of your choosing from an indicated bookshelf. That's the only reason I ever participate xD
