Sakuya Momoiro I got into Touhou when one day my youtube recommended for had Yuka's theme Gensokyo, Past and Present ~ Flower Land i checked it out just to see the image on the video and well i got hooked. I started finding a bunch of different Touhou theme songs till i googled it and found the wiki and pretty much became a huge fan in a matter of few days. It's funny when i first read that all the games mostly have a female cast i truly thought i would hate it expecting the typically cute girl girls that can can fight as far as the can throw each other, but boy was i wrong XD. I guess what i liked the most about it is a game that shows female characters in a positive light breaking away from the mold of a female characters ether being pretty and unless or sexy but a b***h. Welcome to the guild. Glad you don't find Touhou sexist, I DO! I mean just look how Reimu shaves her armpits to conform with the preconceptions of how a female should look in the eyes of...*with disgust* men. I'm just joking around. Much like most of the fandom, I got into Touhou thanks to the infamous and shitty Ronald McDonald Insanity and Marisa Stole the Precious Thing videos. Oh don't worry the second video i saw of Touhou ever was in fact Marisa Stole the Precious Thing and i have to say i hated it! Wotan Manasal Well, Touhou has a bit of everything. True, we have well thought-out characters, such as Mokou or Aya, but there's also, eh... you know... *points at Cirno* I tend to forget about Cirno i really have no idea why people go crazy over her it's like sure shes cute but besides that it's just ehh.

Sakuya Momoiro the second video i saw of Touhou ever was in fact Marisa Stole the Precious Thing and i have to say i hated it! Don't get me wrong, the "memetic" doujin circles (IOSYS, Silver Forest, Alstroemeria Records, et c.) and songs aren't that bad, specially if they're among the first Touhou-related things you learn about. But compared to actually good music, most of their works are worth nothing. Sakuya Momoiro I tend to forget about Cirno i really have no idea why people go crazy over her it's like sure shes cute but besides that it's just ehh. I don't really know either. I guess it's IOSYS' fault, maybe.

The thing about IOSYS to me is they have nice videos and maybe a handful of good songs but that's it. If it wasn't for there videos they wouldn't be half as popular in my eyes at least. Sorry to those that like them. D: By the way thank you for posting that amazing Border of life vocal :3

D: By the way thank you for posting that amazing Border of life vocal :3 ARM is a damn good arranger. He's a "jack of all trades" kind, though, which means his arrangements are "Good", but not necessarily "The Best" within a specific genre. Those of us who enjoy a wide arrange of genres rather like IOSYS, for this very same reason.

I for one like ARM a lot for that reason. Sure his arrangements aren't the best, but they're still very enjoyable, and he's very versatile which is a good skill to have.
Speaking of vocal arranges, I feel the need to post this. Listened to it while driving while there was a thunderstorm outside, and I found it quite fitting.

Sakuya Momoiro By the way thank you for posting that amazing Border of life vocal :3 You are welcome. Out of those three songs I posted, it's the one I like most. I haven't listened to much of Unlucky Morpheus' works, but after finding that song a couple of days ago, I quickly put their albums in my "things to download" list. Daughter of Tepes Speaking of vocal arranges, I feel the need to post this. Very nice. I find it very reminiscing of the Imperishable Night events... I have no idea why.

ARM doesn't even arrange that many songs in IOSYS. He generally is part of the arrangement of like a quarter of them, if that. A lot of people take for granted that IOSYS is a collaborative effort with a whole bunch of people working on each album. That's the main reason for the range in quality and style.
Also, nice to hear some variety in here, but when did this become the music discussion topic? xd
