Mindy woke up, her mind fuzzy from so much sleep, and blinked slowly up at an unfamiliar ceiling. She didn't remember... Wait... Kick a** and Daddy had been... and then she had gone in to... but.. it hadn't worked, so...
Images of their assault on the kingpin's home flashed through her mind, followed by impossible pictures of Arkham Asylum, Doctor Octopus, and a man in black. She didn't really remember much else. So... the main question was, had she really experienced all the crazy stuff? It was harder to draw the line when real life was batshit, anyway.

(If only Jinx {looking like Batgirl} wasn't waiting for Prof. Xavier, this would be perfect timing for her to walk in. mrgreen )
Oracle responded to Red Cardinal, "Alright, we'll round up who we can here at Xavier's to deal with the mad man. Do you have anything that you can patch in to me about this assassin. I might be able to help."
Nightshade tapped Barbara on her shoulder and whispers, "I'll go round up some volunteers for Central City, andI'll get you in the loop," then turning to Gambit, "You said this guys invisible? Help me find something to track this guy. I need to check on a patient first. Then, we'll see who we can round up."
Des headed out of the War Room and walked into the infirmary still decked out in his Nightshade costume. His young patient was awake, "Miss? How are you feeling?"

She blinked at him sleepily, then recognized him and averted her eyes at once, her expression guarded. "Fine," she replied shortly, sitting up. Actually, she felt completely healed. "Thank you," she added grudgingly.

Des chuckled, "I almost forgot about the properties of that biobed. Lord knows I could have used that thing many times in the past. I need to check your vitals and I'd like to run some x-rays to see how your healing took."

The child nodded curtly and immediately sat up, ready to let him run checks on whatever needed to be checked.

Des checked her pulse and breathing, finding nothing wrong. Then, the old doctor led Hit Girl into another room. He placed the young girl on a flat bed and pulled down a scanner, positioning it over her chest. Nightshade took several pictures, then looked over the x-rays, "Hmmm... Seemed like everything work. You now seem fit as a fiddle. But if you experience any pain, let me know. I'll take you back to your room and leave you to get dressed.

Mindy just nodded, her small face unreadable. Then something flickered across her face, and she looked up at him. "Um... About Doctor Octopus..." God, that sounded insane out loud. "I helped him escape. I didn't want him to kill anyone, and I didn't think that fighting him myself would do any f**king good, so..." She trailed off, her small face set in an uncertain frown.

Des listened and nodded, "From what little I've heard about Dr.Octavius, that's perfectly understandable. There's nothing wrong with surviving to fight another day. Sometimes, it is best not to fight, when it isn't advantageous to do so. In this business, use every advantage you can. It's too easy to get in over your head. The fact that you choose not to fight to save innocent lives.... That is admirable."

Obvious relief flashed across her face, and she nodded slightly. "I... guess I'll go change, now," she said finally. She wasn't sure how she felt about being undressed while she was asleep... but her costume wasn't really pajama material, anyway.

Nightshade walked Hit Girl back to her room, "I'm going to be gone for a little while. There are several of us that need to go stop a mad man with a bioweapon. If you need anything while I'm gone, there will be someone here. I'll check on you when I come back. Oh, is there anyone that I need to contact for you?"

Oracle shouted back through the comm, "Kai? KAI!?" Turning her head toward Gambit a moment, "The line's dead. Oh God, what now?"
Babs then took off her glasses and cupped her face in her hands -- stress and worry beginning to consume her.

"Orcale come in it's TK. The whole Jump City area has been consume into some type of dark energy dome. It's seems to be if Titans Tower is the center of it. Should I try to enter the dome or keep going to Dakota?" TK commed into Oracle.

Oracle began rubbing her temples, "Now what....." Babs put her glasses back on and picked up sent a transmission to TK, "TK, go to Jump City and see what's going on. Do not engage. I repeat, do not engage. Only see what's there and report back to me. Do you understand?"
