Julian finished the first book and set it down. He picked up the cat.

After the song was over, Zai turned it off. Standing up, she yawned and stumbled a bit, then walked outside the room to where Julian was. After a moment her eyes opened a bit wide, "Wow kid, ya already finished it?"

"Er..." She walked back in, within a moment was back out, holding a large box, and sat it down beside him. "Already gave ya the best books on gems, these are on basics that lead up to that study, how it can be used, what is related to it, ext. If ya are still interested in it..."

Zai leaned against the wall, and sat down next to him. "Good, don't want ya to be stuck doin' something ya don't want to for a living. That would be aweful, yeah."

Zai thought for a moment. "Hmm... don't know. Guess it was 'cause I remembered how hard life was without a place really, didn't want cha to do into that any more."

She turned her eyes to him, then closed them and let out a sigh, it was a shame she had to wear that mask, because it always hid whenever she smiled. Zai let out a silent sigh, then looked back at him. "More than happy to do somethin' right."

Julian brought his knees up to his chest and hugged his legs. He rested his chin on his knees. "I guess I'm surprised by that. I always saw the world as an evil place that never let anyone in."

Zai took off her mask. "People do that when they are either scared of themselves or others, in some way. More than one kind of fear, however. Fear some one will get in the way, or hurt them, or change them... Sometimes ya need to force your way in, as long as ya have a desire to do so, it will only hurt if ya don't." She said, looking down at the mask in her hand.

"If it was simple, we would be bored out of our skulls kid. People gave one thing for the other, ya know? We arn't exactly simple, ya know..." She then had a thought. "Just... realized.... I hate simple mainstream fashion....." Her eyes were a little wide, then she smiled and scratched the back of her head, a little embarassed. "Er, see...? That's an example kid, ha..."
