Maybe I like the idea/game of the thing more than a movie adaptation because they can't do it right?

The Thing (Carpenter) works because of the gloomy paranoia that permeates the setting, the characters work and the Thing itself is a work of art. The remake fails, the game fails even more.

Head-butting an immortal guy to death. A guy of stone trying to rape a poison ninja. An army of mooks being cut to pieces by the hero who has a hbsod episode. We're watching Akira tonight. sweatdrop
