The usual, Dag is a hazard to any and all furniture I have and had the audacity to bringa woman home, and the others are off working on their own missions. The elf is turning out to be a real boon to the group... and Im afraid you have a new sibling. Dag'll most likely get to him before you this time, and the poor boy is no doubt going ot end up worse for wear but still... I have high hopes.

*Without even asking Ice, she ordered two pint of vitae and when they came, handed one to Corbin*

I assume they're feeding you right? Nice threads by the way... minimalist, but suitable... I approve.

*Again, there were undercurrents in her moves and tone. The Fang held botjh good and bad memories for her and seeing Corbin stood where she once had, in the same situation.. it made her head reel, and seemed almost unreal*

"That all sounds about right..Except, let me guess. 99, right?"

At the pint of vitae, Corbin looked down into the rippling crimson, before glancing up to Ice, not wanting to foul with orders, and go back to the ice chasm. He looked for a sign that it was alright.

"What of the mission to Mexico?"

((I didnt break any furniture.))

((Doesnt stop you from being a hazard))

Yes, 99. Iden DeSeer, on record. The poor boy.. he was cainite before I happened to him, but no one had taught him anything... with luck, he will turn out just fine.

*Meanwhile, Ice nodded to Corbin. The effect that simple exchange of permissions had on Roan was marked, as her claws dug into her own hands and made them bleed, while her tone stayed even*

Mexico was cancelled - the Sabbat seemed loathe to come against us again after it, and restoking hostilities would not benefit any of us. Besides which, I have 99 to train. He is physically weilding Kuni now and you know how I feel about HIM...

*Her eyes flickered to Ice. Pure HATRED smouldered in her gaze, but she did not move, only drank her own drink, leaving bloody hand prints on the outsid eof the glass*

"I thought as much. After assimilaiting with O-Kuni, it was only a matte of time. I have high hopes for the runt. he is starting out the same as I did, after all."

Nodding his thanks to Ice, only slightly irked that he had to act this way in front of Roan, he took a long sip, before continuing.

"I'm both dissapointed, yet relieved about the Mexico matter though. Dissapointed its all been danced around, yet relieved we can avoid what would have been a large war, which would include more of the Camarilla then simply us, i'm certain."

In the long run, prehaps, but there are other factors I will discuss with you once you come home.

*She stretched and shook off her melancholy. For all that she feared what Corbin had been through, she was DAMN glad to see him alive and well and focused on that - the last thing he would need would be to see her worry all over again*

Now listen up childe. I got a LOT of money resting on you. You better win this thing... otherwise I may have to sell your bike.

*She grinned and lit a cigarette*

Corbin smirked, showing a touch of the old cocky nature.

"I'll win. So far its as if all of the on-lookers are kine seeing a Cainite for the first time. If thats anything to go by, i'll be fine. Meanwhile though..Touch my bikes, and i'll melt down the lotus and have it beaten into number plates for bikes."

That is assuming you win your real test boy. You gotta be able to come home to do that... so dont disappoint me.

*She exhaled a smoke ring... but she couldnt leave the subject of her car, though she tried*

... and for the record? Even BREATH on my car and I'll gut you like the guttersnipe you are and string you out to dry. Your sinews will be strings for my bows and your bones handles for my daggers... capiche?

*She smiled. Maybe Corbin wasnt as damaged as she feared*

Stay safe... I want you home soon. Its not the same without you.

*And then she turned and made her way back through the crowd*

Vengeance is nothing if not thorough... I rather fear the lady will try and scalp me one of these days. Seat yourself Corbin. You will be gawked at a whiel onger tonight before we close Im afraid.

"Heh, i've known that threat since day one. I'll see you soon, mistress."

After watching Roan leave, Corbin came at Ice's request and took to his knees once more, sipping at his pint with some more dignity, rather then gulping it depserately.

Enjoy that Corbin... it'll be your last for a while.

((*time skip in progress...*))

*Time passed swiftly enough - the following evening the final two match ups between the last of the first nights 10 winners were concluded. Only five now stood between Corbin and the belt - the four other challengers, and Malkis.
Yet, the next rounds would be vastly unfair. A two week reprieve from battle was announced... as the next rounds called for the competitors to be starved. Slowly, the audiences of the Fang became more prevailant with Cainites watching, news of the developing battle between one of the great clans and an equally feared tribe spreading. The underground circuits who knew the DeSeer name all wanted to know who would win, and the kine were dissuaded from attending as each night got busier.
Of them all, only Reinholdt remained. He and Roan would sit off, night after night, in VIP seats near the ring, taking part in something of a battle of wills, sparing Ice the hassle as he and Corbin simply became the mediums for the chaos.
Two weeks of starvation later, and the competitors being kept in the cells below were showing the strain. Ice had yielded to popular opinion and with regret even from himself, placed extra restraints on Corbin, to ensure enitehr his wicke dclawes nor dextrous tail would be brought to bear against the spectators shoudl he frenzy. Through it all, Roan looke don, angry, yet prideful. Her emotions conflicted. After the first night she had not come to speak with Corbin again, for both their sanities. She'd even managed to keep he rpeace when she had found out from ice that eh had volunteered for Corbin to be the one to fight two battles in this round, as Malkis was not due to fight yet and the number of competitors was uneven.
Eventually, the reprieve ended. With starved and ferocious combatanats on view, the club pulsed with undead life, crowded around the arena, waiting for the next bout. First up woudl be Corbin and a Lasombra cainite.
Ice looked to Corbin, ready to take him to the ring like some prized pet, but unsure of Corbins mental and physical health after the strain of starvation*
PostPosted: Tue May 01, 2007 11:19 am

After being starved for two full weeks, Corbin was at the stage of the sickly, not completely present of mind lunacy. Whispering to himself, chuckling like a mad child under his breath and moving with a much more wastefull, liquid like exageration.

"Its ok..Its ok. We can feed soon. Soon. Flesh, tendon, muscle, fat...BLOOD. Feeeeaaasssst."

With a completely white eye, no pupil and a red iris, Corbin looked far more fitting to the suit of a homicidal, criminally insane jester, rather then an upstanding, powerful Cainite warlord. Corbin had the hands up in this round even. Even if he couldn't use his tail or claws. He had his jaws, and they compensaited well. He was an 'accomplished' Diablerist, after all. He would have one feed up on his second opponent.

Deceit. I'll deal with this if you dont mind...

*Corbin's first bout was about to begin. In the arena, the door to his opponents cage had been opened, but no one came out. Two red eyes in the darkness were all the signified that the creature within still lived.
Roan did not trust Corbin not to attack the easiest meal he could on his way to join battle - it was nature, and instinct, and the bonds holding Corbin were far too fragile even to her eyes. TO that end... she would make sure any easy meal suddenly seemed all the harder for her being next to Corbin.
Taking the leash from Ice's chair, she laid a hand on her son and pierced his gaze with her own*

Food is waiting for you, in the ring. A sticky, sweet shadowy Lasombra. All you have to do is get there... and kill. You have no restrictions in this battle. Use your skills if you feel you can waste the blood, fight with whatever you desire... but you must not harm anyone else. You even have permission to Diablerise.

*Then she took hold of the bonds holding his wrists behind his back and led him down some steps to enter the ring at its floor level - no leaping railings this time.
Guiding Corbin, she ran a hand over his cheek before he door to the ring rolled up, then kissed him lightly and removed the wrist, elbow and tail restraints. Save for the unleashed collar.. he was free to fight as he chose*

Win.

((Do as you please with this woman too Corbs smile ))

This was what he was waiting for. This was his real chance to show off exactly why he was going home, champion. As Roan had before him. As he was set loose from the restraints his tail cracked viciously and with the gold tips at the three points of its arrow head, carved deep slashes into the floor, and wall behind him.

Catching the gleeming red eyes in the cell opposite him, Corbin rolled his shoulders forward and widened the spacing between his feet as black finger nails grew along with the length of his ears, and his headwings slendered before stretching out behind him.

The pale skinned Diablerist was looking like an angered wolf almost, snarling viciously at his prey. Corbin's fingers on both hands moved sporadicly, knuckles and joints popping as they wriggled stiffly, fists clentching then releasing over and over in suspense.

The red eyes then began to move. Bobing up and down ever so slightly, slowly, indicating the foe was starting a slow and steady approach. Corbin wasn't about to wait, however.

A single deep, liquid red circlet appeared in his eye and opened, shifting out from the Iris to where the pupil border would be, if it was visible. With a quaking, guttural roar the crimson that stained the pit floor and walls was lifted from the surfaces and dust. Regardless, and indescriminate of how old the blood was it became fluid once more and quickly rushed to form a thick rounded edge ring that floated in the air and spun violently around Corbin's waist.

The red eyes of Corbin's opponent went wide at the large amount of blood now before him, bending to his foe's will and the approach quickened. There was a brief moment as the Lasombra appeared from the shadows, revealing the woman's physic to Corbin, though this was short lived, as solid tendrils of vitae suddenly shot out from the ring around Corbin, forcing the Shadow Cainite back into the darkness.

A loud beastial cry rang out, and the tendrils of vitae sprung back. Corbin then willed the blood to close in on him, and in that moment, caked his physic. His entire body surface was layered with a hide of vitae, though not for long as it was soaked up, the entirety of the vitae vanishing into his body through skin pores.

With a little more tactical mind recovered now, still though with a beastial nature to him, Corbin hissed at the dark cell, daring the Lasombra to show herself. She oblidged.

Stepping out from the shadows with all but hell about her starved appearance the raven haired Cainite glared at Corbin with rage, sporting a hole where her left shoulder should have been. A hole that could easily pass a tennis ball through, though her mind wasn't of the wound, rather the oppertunity to feed, and then heal.

The Lasombra rushed forward, lunging at Corbin like a large cat with all fours, however she only met with a raised boot. With his knee up at his collarbone, Corbin let the Lasombra's chest hit the sole of his boot, before giving a ravenous growl and shifting his body weight forward with a large forward step. Ribs and sternum snapped under the weight as Corbin stomped down on the step, the Lasombra woman under his boot.

As she wriggled in anguish beneath his boot, Corbin leaned forward, putting more and more pressure on her broken chest, letting bones scratch across her internal organs, and weight strangle her heart. She hissed and clutched his calf, digging claws in and ripping at the muscle, as Corbin paid no mind and lowered his shoulders and head, his other free leg nearly taking to its knee on the floor as he dropped his right hand down to grab a handfull of raven hair, roaring so obstreperously in her face.

In retaliation, the woman had no choice but to waste blood, since the mutilation of his calf muscle was baring no fruit. A solid column of shadow shot out from the cell she had come from. Raising his head at the last second, Corbin bore the blunt impact on his chest, and was pushed back, back against the wall with an enraged bellow.

This offered the Lasombra woman barely the time to shakily stagger to her feet, clutching at her chest so full of nothing but broken shards of bone, rattling about in the cavity that was her torso. Blood vessles, arteries and veins had been crushed, torn or strangled, making circulation of what little vitae she posessed suffocating, and it showed as she grimaced horridly.Though this deprived expression of desperation was advanced upon, as her shadow column was torn apart, and the reek of death, blood and flesh rose ten fold in the building.

With an aura of crimson steam hissing around him, Corbin held an open maw with nothing but predatory enamal from his lips to his ears, as his head wings lost their corporal appearance, turning to a mixture of wildly shaped wings of burgandy and blood red steam and liquid like aura.

His mangled calf muscle rappidly regenerated on the spot, muscles, tendons and flesh reatatching and healing in seconds as he gave a guttural growl to the sensation of his canines changing. The enamal was growing thicker, which forced the teeth around them to slide back along his jaw to allow the growing size, serated undersides chipping into all but his canines. His upper lip was forced to jutt out by the expanding gums, and finally the Diablerist's canines showed through truthfully. Long sabertooth fangs that fitted to his chin, sliding down from his upper jaw, over his bottom lip and the ends dangling down just an inch below his pointed chin. Grooves were then laid into the undersides, like highways for blood to flow through up into his gaping maw.

Throwing his hands out at his sides, and his head down and forward, he roared thunderously. The game was over, and he was ready to feast. If the onlookers were awe struck by his devouring two thirds of a head..This would sit them down real quick.

Storming forward with quaking stomps the diablerist snarled, red steam plooming out from his throat into the air around him. The Lasombra had little left for her to try, aside from praying what disciplines she had the capacity left to perform, would be potent enough to force the ravenous monster before her, back.

Thus she opened up her 'Obtenebration' discipline. Leering at her would-be destroyer, the woman invoked her arms of the abyss. She would try and mutilate the monsterous form before her by holding it back, and at the same time, send parts of his body to the abyss.

A tendrils of shadow emmerged from the cell behind her, just the one due to her weakness, and whipped out past her at Corbin. This however only served to highlight HIS abilities for the crowed even more.

Corbin invoked the exact same discipline, and corrosponding ability, his attempt however, bore more fruit from its labour. The viral markings on his left arm twisted and writhed under his skin, before then two snakes of oozing obsidian goop rose from the markings and hissed at the oncoming tendril. One snake had risen from his shoulder blade, and arched over his shoulder, opening its mouth wide . In a collision between 'arms of the abyss', Corbin's came out the victor, having taken a form that could by design, devour the Lasombra's. As the serpent endlessly devoured the tendril, swallowing length after length of it, the second serpent weaved through the air like one of Engel's bullets, before tightly coiling about the Woman's right leg, and opening wide. it then bit into her thigh just above the knee, however instead of biting out a bloody chunk of flesh, its maw simply melted through the limb like a hot knife through butter, severing the leg and sending the woman into the floor once more.

As her discipline gave out, both serpents returned to idely sway about Corbin's left side, flicking their abyssal tongues over and over, as they leered at the woman with barely distinguishable eyes.

Snarling at the whimpering mess before him, Corbin towered over the wretched creature. He used his tail to scoop up the severed leg first, and with it dangling above his head, he rolled his head back, and opened his jaws. His tail then lowered the disembodied limb into his open jaws, where it rapidly decomposed over his tongue, crimson steam billowing out from the maw, as the whole leg was devoured.

Corbin then closed his jaws, showing a vicious grin as he leered down at the woman. She, in turn, went speachless. Even a starved, mad beast could know terror, and he had taught it to her.

As Corbin's hand loomed down upon her, like death's cold stiff bone fingers, she invoked a last ditch effort. A desperate move that would serve only, to entise the diablerist even more. She used the skill 'possesion', pertaining to the discipline 'Dominate'.

She had just this one last prayer of a skill left. She would attempt to take over Corbin's mind, and body, and force him into suicide. She could only get so far however, as getting into his mind. That, is where she stopped. Her eyes grew wide with absolute horror, as Corbin let the full wrath of his chaotic mind fall down on her own, like a grand piano on a small infant. Her blood curdling shriek lasted only a second, before her eyes were shook violently in their sockets, and turned ivory white all over, her whole body turning limp, and her mouth dropping open.

Hissing in delight at the outcome, Corbin quickly crouched down over his prey, and started with the head, devouring her down to her one remaining foot, all the while crimson steam hazing the pit, maggots, millipedes, large roaches and the like swarming out from the grotesque display to infest the pit. He had won the fight, and this granted him a prize. In the next bout, he would practice this new prize. 'Dominate'.

Ladies and Gentlemen... the Diablerist.

*From above the pit, Roan turned her eyes to Reinholdt smirking as the insects swarmed out of the pit. While many tried to move back, she extended an arm and allowed teh bugs to swarm over her, where they promptly disappeared.
She then valuted into the pit herself, landing by Corbin as he finished his meal*

You are still too low on blood to be trusted by those above, and even if you werent... they're terrified of you. You're going to have to let me bind you again Im afraid. How are you holding up?
