Reese was quiet for a long while, leaning back against the side of the building they stood behind. He seemed lost in a battle between two parts of himself. Finally, his eyes focused again, and he looked at Regina. "Do you remember this story...I heard it as a kid. About a turtle and a rabbit. The rabbit too things really fast, but the turtle was really slow about thing, and the turtle ended up winning in the end? I think I should be like the turtle."

Reese nodded and they left the alley, heading to a little chinese restaurant down the street. "Oh," he said as they walked. "You're going on a camping trip with your new friends?"

Regina nodded as they walked, scuffing her shoe on the ground. "Yeah, it's more of a mandatory thing but I don't mind. It's to meet each other and learn to trust each other. Or something like that... I like the idea."

((ooc: sorry it took so long to respond!! sweatdrop my computer's a baka *stomps on the screen*))
*Ruka looked at her for a moment*
Ruka: Ruka Kekanna....are you a.."mutant" too?
Kurt: well, all of us are mutants here
Ruka: everyone?!!....woah....

Brightness... darkness... light... oblivion... vision... blindness...

Pietro awoke, his mind in a daze. It had all happened so fast last night, and for him, that was saying something. It was as if out of nowhere all the rage that Wanda once held for him was violently thrust back to the surface, and the result nearly cost him his life.

Obsidian was huddled next to him, obviously having nursed him through the night. Apparently, it would be their last night together for a while...

Where were they going? What could have possibly shaken Wanda up so badly. Who could... oh God...

"Father..." Pietro whispered, realizing what was going to happen. Wanda was really going to try and kill him this time. And Noko and Obsidian were going with her.

With a grunt of pain Pietro forced himself out of bed and got dressed. Wanda had to be warned. There was no way she would be able to touch Magneto. At least... not by direct assault. That route was certain death.

"Yeah well, unfortunately, everyone in the brotherhood has their own agenda at hand." Regina said bitterly. "I don't mean you, but you haven't been there long. Soon you'll see that everyone is off on their own little tirade most of the time. The only time they work together is when they're forced to. Maybe that's what annoyed me most and why I left... But besides you and Noko, no one will really miss me there. I wasn't part of the group ever really..."

She looked at the ground as they walked. It was just like being in school all over again where no one noticed her. She was glad to be making friends with the Xmen, they at least saw her for a person. Not just a worthless addition to a team that didn't exist.

The two of them spent a good five minutes hitting her repeatedly until the smallest fished out a pocket knife and flicked it open, "We'll teach you not to mess with us, mutant freak."

Yukiko's eyes were wide open, staring at the weapon in fright, and her breath hitched in her chest. She saw him draw back his arm as he prepared to take a shot at her creamy flesh, his friend was busy holding her pinned to the wall.

"No... wait..." she whispered uselessly.

He dove for her stomach and at the last moment she was able to free her arm. She attempted to parry his attack but only managed to protect her vulnerable spot by letting him pierce her hand. The wounded girl grit her teeth in pain and clasped her hand around her enemy's.

"You... you've drawn first blood... You shouldn't have..." her voice quivered in shock.

The small man screamed as his hand was slowly turning into ice at the contact of her blood. The now frozen penknife broke in half at the pressure she exercised and when she was sure his hand had an extra nice chilblain she shoved him down.

The second one released her, "What the ********? You b***h!"

He had time to knock her to the side where she landed badly on her shoulder. He was about to ram into her but she kicked his legs under him and slapped his face with her bloody hand. The imprint made him howl as her blood seemingly ate away his cheek.

"W-what did you do to me?" asked the one with the handle of the knife stuck in his frosted hand.

"My mutation caused me to undergo some physical changes. Liquid nitrogen instead of blood is one of those."

The young mutant stood up clumsily and assessed her injuries. A busted lip, a dislocated shoulder, a right hand covered in silver-bluish blood, a few scrapes and bruises, and her feet were in need of a glass removal session. Smoke was rising into the sky from where the nitrogen had surfaced on her skin.

Yukiko started to limp out of the alleyway when, "This doesn't mean we'll stop pursuing you, freak."

She turned her calm yet angry blue eyes on them and responded, "This doesn't mean I won't kill you next time, a*****e."

She left to find her compatriots.
