Nazuki felt alone once again as she arrived in this foreign land. Not that she ever had too many friends, being a prodigious criminal in the past. But now she was (thanks to the mizukage) dressed nice and clean, with several visas and a few techniques of her own.
Never one to be focused, Nazuki wandered around aimlessly, hoping that she could exchange her currency for something to eat atleast. She knew that she didn't exactly blend in to society right now, and tried inconspicuosly to not bump into people. Which is exactly what happened. She slammed straight into the back of a blond girl...who turned around and said in a strangely masculine voice:
"nani..."

"I'm sorry..." said Nazuki, trying to adopt a sorry facial expression. What came out was something between confusing and pity. Nazuki looked into her/his eyes and noticed that one of them was strangely metallic. The other one was strangely insane. eek Nazuki met his/her stare defiantly until a low sound came from her stomach and she longed to look away.
"you're not from around here..." started the person. "no...but you are a shinobi, or kunoichi, I suppose." the guy continued. "you're clothing is very artistic, and you have many ribbons in your hair. Yet your expression does show a disdain towards art, which means..."
Nazuki knew then that he was nuts.

The man promptly pulled out a string of dull white beads that looked like a puppet of sorts. Nazuki jumped to attention instantly but there was no need. The guy just kept talking:" You know...should you where this around your neck, it could probably have explosive effects on the people around you...but then you might find it a bit too extreme if your own head was blown off in the process."
Just then Nazuki caught a little twitch in the chain of beads and realized what it really was: A large centipede. Made out of clay? Yet able to move? She was interested despite her hunger. The guy took notice at once:"So you like it eh? I knew that one day some idiot is goona admire me for my art...so..."

"would you like to learn it?" asked the guy excitedly. Nazuki felt immediately like she was in the prescence of a five-year-old. But why not? What was a shinobi with out techniques to back them up? But first things first. "Yes..." said Nazuki demurely, "but first you must treat me to lunch." She expected his smile to waver just a bit, but it didin't. "of course!!!" he answered. "that will build up our stamina for the tasks ahead..."
Nazuki was led to a bar where the guy asked for something incomprehensible. The waiter handed him too round buns wrapped in some kind of leaf. Nazuki took one hesitantly and bit into it with her eyes closed, not wishing to see what was in there.
"barbecued pork buns..." thought Nazuki as she chewed. somewhat dissapointed.

Fate is inexplicable...thought Nazuki as she followed the guy into a steep canyonland. Her powerful sixth has led her once again to a sensei, one that was probably alot more mentally instable than even kagerou. For the moment, Deidara(for that was his name) looked harmless, but would constantly smile and mutter things to himself. One thing was certain: Deidara was not a pervert and indeed regards Nazuki with the neutral eye of an asexual creature.
"Now...the first step is to make Deidara's special clay!" said deidara with pride as he scooped up some of the bleached dirt on the canyon floor. Rolling up her sleeves, Nazuki followed suit.

"alright...so first you put in just the right amount of water...let's say as much as 1/4 of the clay."
"okay..."
"then we knead it until it has a a firm texture but still soft."
"alright..."
"then we infuse our chakra with it..."
"what?"
"use an extension and knead it into the clay..."
"I see..."
"make sure it reacts to your signature handseal..."
"uhhuh..."
"then put it into the mouth on your hand."
"what...?"

It was odd to see the pair together, even odder to see the pair watching them from a distance, a full grown Spartan in full battle dress, a spear over his shoulder and a round shield strapped to his back and a young genin from the Cloud village stood the younger one wearing a set of short swords and daggers in his belt and the other two belts that crisscrossed his chest. They bore no distinguishing marks, at least not anymore, they had been forced to abandon any marks of allegiance to their former villages when they had been resurrected. Deidara might recognize the Grey uniform the younger shinobi wore as that of the conquerers of the land, the Alchemists, but the young girl would have no idea who they were or what they were for that matter. Neither would know that the Grey uniform of the smaller shinobi marked him and his partner as high officers in the vast armies of the Alchemy nation, they were powerful enough Shinobi to be included in the Fuhrers personal guard.

Nazuki watched as Deidara took the lump of clay into a scar on his hand, now revealed to be a fully funtional mouth. Trying not to pry into his personal affairs, Nazuki prepared to put the lump of clay into her own mouth when deidara stopped her.
"No...you'll blow your own head off, just try some other way..."
More than a bit shaken now, Nazuki molded the lump of clay in her own hands until it formed the shape of a butterfly...a badly maligned one. The clay started jumping around feebly and then started glowing. Deidara took the butterfly and threw it at the cliffside.
There was no sound...just a nice white explosion and a gaping hole on the surface.

"hmm...nice quality..." muttered deidara as he dusted off his hands. Nazuki just stared blankly, wondering why her play-dough had just exploded and made a very sizable hole in the cliffside. "your clay..." said deidara as he kept on chewing his piece with his mouth, "lacks control, exploding shortly after it was formed, but it was soundless...meaning your chakra control is adequate."
"So it was meant to blow up?" asked Nazuki as she held the destructive play-dough in her hands. "why certainly...art is a bang, don't you agree?" replied Deidara. And then his face grew serious again. "Yet you must control it so it can move by itself...for one cannot be destroyed by his own creation unless he wills it."

to prove his point, deidara whisked out a bird-shaped piece of clay and made a handseal. There was a gigantic puff of smoke and then silence. The tiny piece of clay was now magnified in size and flapping its wings as if animated by some dark art known only to clowns. Deidara was lifted gently into the air, and the prideful smile on his face indicated that she should pay some respect to the bird.
Nazuki gathered up some clay and molded it slowly into the shape of a dragonfly, having no such mouth on her hand to do the molding. She waited for the telltale white flash that would indicate an explosion, but nothing happened. Nazuki applied a handseal to it and the dragonfly doubled in size...standard henge.

Nazuki gave her creation a mental order and it started buzzing its fine clay wings. Dragonflies are one of the best fliers in the insect category, and if she could master controlling these things, she would be virtually uncatchable. She already could fly with Azure wings, but now she could fly AND crash on people. Yes...it sounded just as fun as it was intended to.
The dragonfly gave a half-fearted buzz and fell on to the ground. Nazuki picked up its limp body and gave Deidara a puzzled look. "Give it more chakra..." responded Deidara as he flew lazy circles around nazuki.

And for the next couple of hours Nazuki loaded more and more of her chakra into the clay, but progress was slow. Sometimes it felt like the entire thing was going backwards. The good thing was that now she had learnt how to control the timing of the explosion. The bad thing was that she would have to throw explosives if she can't make them move by themselves.
"you're a dragonfly...not a woodlouse..." muttered Nazuki as her dragonfly, now the size of a dolphin, crawled feebly along the floor of the canyon. She had just got its legs to work, but the coordination of the wings are very complex.

When ever the dragonfly flies forwards, it's forward wings does the steering and the backward wings do the propelling, when it flies backwards it's the opposite. Nazuki sighed as the dragonfly lost direction again, smascking into the cliff...Deidara was nowhere to be seen, and who could blame him? She herself was bored out of her mind.
The trick was not to suddenly discover a way to enhance control, but to practice tediously until it was second nature to her. Nazuki refreshed her mind and made her dragonfly effigy pick itself back up.

Nazuki now stood on her dragonfly, her small constitution saving the dragonfly from collapsing. It was time for a test drive, thought Nazuki as she slowly gave the clay figure some forward momentum. It responded by vigorously flapping its backward wings until they were a blur...a white blur. The dragonfly skidded across the ground, it's legs making sure it's on a straight path. The front set of wings tilted and the dragonfly gained lift off.
Nazuki crouched and hung on as her creation gained speed and prepared to scale the length of the cliff...it didn't work. The climb was too steep and the damn thing went into a spiral, with Nazuki tumbling off.

Biting on her lips, Nazuki calmed her heart and made the bird seal, activating azure wings. Her skin molted immediately and 2 sets of wings popped out of her back. Nazuki flapped the thin layers of chakra and began to slow down her descent. The rest of her skin layer fell off and landed on the ground with a gentle 'wisp'.
Nazuki made a handseal and the dragonfly was summoned to her, with two broken wings: one in each set. Nazuki took another hand full of the special clay and molded it back on...the complexity of this feat was beginning to worry her.
