Ravenfang knew she had to come up with something intelligent to support Crystaleye. "Rainfur, you know as well as the rest of us what Thunderclan thinks we are like. They believe that every time we cross over their border we're trying to invade. Don't you think someone from the Thunderclan side would have noticed them there. What if they didn't even MAKE it to Thunderclan? What if they're in the same situation as Sunpaw? I know you need to follow Dampfoot's orders, but Crysataleye and me are worried, and I know you are too." Without saying another word, she turnedher back on Rainfur and continued on to Thunderclan.

Crystaleye nodded, and turned her back to Rainfur also, following Ravenfang. She neared the ThunderClan border, the forest scents odd to her. "I hope they don't think we're invading."

 I said you just don't know..."Stop!" snarled Rainfur. "I know you're worried, but you know Dampfoot's orders. If we send too many cats over, they will think it's an invasion. ThunderClan won't harm Mooneye. Now, get back." he hissed. He couldn't believe his clanmates would go against Dampfoot's words. She was technically leader until Torrentstar returned, and a leaders words are law. "They will come back. As will you." ...how hard it is to not be by your side, every night.

Crystaleye bit her lip, staring at Ravenfang for a moment. "You can't help us being worried about our Clanmates, Rainfur! I swear by StarClan, if it was a normal situation, not our Clanmates going over to retrieve Sunpaw, I would obey Dampfoot's order willingly. But this is different! They haven't come back yet. Nothing. They could be dead for all we know, Rainfur! Why aren't you worried about your Clanmates?"

Ravenfang just ignored Rainfur, he was getting annoying. "Thunderclan isn't stupid. Four cats doesn't make an invasion, they probably have already found Sunpaw and are waiting for us to show up." She reached the edge of the river and jumped to the first stepping stone. This is almost where Sunpaw fell and got us into this whole mess...

Rainfur hissed in utter disbelief. "How can you say I don't care about my clan! This clan is my life, but it's my duty to follow orders and protect you all with my life. If Dampfoot wanted you with her, she would have told you to come along." he took in a deep breath. "We need to stay here and protect the camp. Those aren't my orders, there your leaders. Listen to her."

Crystaleye glared at the stubborn she-cat, angry. "Let us go over to ThunderClan. If we see Mooneye and the others, we'll apologize and explain the situation, then we'll come straight back." She glared at Rainfur. "Your duty to follow orders, Rainfur? Even when an apprentice is at another Clan or, worse, dead?"

I said you just don't know... Rainfur glared, completely dumbfounded at the mouse-brained behavior of his clanmates. "Fine, you want to misbhave like a bunch of apprentices, be my guest." he hissed, and turned around, padding quickly back to camp.
Once he slipped through the entrance, his hair was bristling. "Fox-dung!" he cursed. "Now Dampfoot will never trust me." he began pacing around camp. ...how hard it is to not be by your side, every night.

Ravenfang jumped off the last rock and landed on the beach. "I think the water's calmed down now." She sat down and waited for Crystaleye to cross. Oh, Rainfur's gone. I guess he wanted to go back to camp then. She hadn't heard the arguement when she was jumping across the rocks.

Crystaleye smirked, jumping across the rocks. "Rainfur's gone." She mewed, glancing around. "We should be nearing ThunderClan soon."
Owleye walked up to Rainfur slowly. "Aw, Dampfoot'll trust you. I know you did everything you could, except by dragging them by their tails back."

Ravenfang nodded and moved toward the trees. "I'll go in first, man it's cold here!" She opened her mouth to scent the air. Thunderclan was here recently, but no sign of any other Riverclan cats. "Looks like Mooneye and Dampfoot never even made it this far...Let's keep going, the sooner we find Sunpaw, the faster we can go back to our dens." She walked through the trees and her black pelt dissapeared in the undergrowth.

"What happened? Did you find Sunpaw?" Silvertail mewed anxiously. She padded over to Rainfur and started to lick his matted fur. "Where were you? How did you get so dirty? What are the others doing?" Her head started to spin. There was barely anyone left in camp. She felt like they were so vulnerable and helpless. "What are we going to do?"

I said you just don't know... Rainfur forced his fur to lie flat. Silvertail was helping to calm his nerves, so he worked on breathing steady. "Crystaleye and Ravenfang ran over the ThunderClan border, against Dampfoot's and my direct orders." he reported with a growl. "If this starts a battle between us and ThunderClan Torrentstar won't be happy." he thought about his leader who had spent quite some time in WindClan now. ...how hard it is to not be by your side, every night.
