Mitsu didn’t know what to think of this man in the shop. As his gaze moved toward them it was like his sight was boring through the curtain. Edgy she moved behind Hitsu peeking over her shoulder to keep an eye on where the dragon was. “W..what do you think is going to happen?” Mitsu asked softly, her voice filled with worry. She was nervous to say the least but curious all the same. Maybe these new people were rubbing off on her a bit too much. Before she would have been more than willing to hide out somewhere until she was sure this new man was gone. Of course, she probably never would have ventured into the shop to begin with. It was all a bit out of character.

Riyo's spine gave a shiver while she was in mid-bite as the stranger passed. She immediately looked over at him and watched as he sat down. There was a very familiar feeling about him... Though she just couldn't put a finger on it. That seemed to be a big problem with her lately.

Atticus's attention turned toward Riyo as he realized she was staring at him. "Mmm.." He mumbled to himself. She did feel a connection to him. There was no mistaking it.

For a second, the two just stared at eachother.. Before Riyo smiled and waved at him. Atticus didn't respond to that. He just stared. "... Nyuu?" Riyo asked with a head tilt. His eyes narrowed. Her ears went flat against her head. Had she offended him?

Her head turned to Neko as he suggested their leave. She frowned and looked back at the man for a moment, then grabbed her last pieces of sandwhich and stood up carefully. Where would they be going now?

"wwooaahhh" poke was truely amazed at what the dragon had did. Not only did he crush the object, but he had made a complety new one instead. That would take alot of magic, in her opinion.
However, her impression of this guy. While cool...there was something else about him. For starters he had walked in here and complety smashed up the place. Another thing was that he kept staring at the window where their current location was, as if he knew they were here...

While he ate his stew, the young man took note of what was going on around him. The two that were there originally were making their leave, but that aside, he couldn't help but have a sense that things were a bit tense. Turning towards them a little more, he watched them, as well as the other man that had just walked in not too long ago.

Just from looking at them he couldn't figure out what was going on, but there was just that strange feeling about.

Blinking, his eyes shot towards the door as it swung open abruptly with a bang. Before another moment went by, he had darted towards the stairwell. And in walked one of the guards, who just scowled at everyone he saw within. The armored official looked around for a moment before stepping inside and bellowing out at the people within.

"Anyone see a long dark haired, red eyed man around here?"

Half slack-jawed at the details of why the human and dragon traveled together, Yuki gave a quiet snort when Skye had finished speaking. "Off you? You'd figure that after the first try, you'd have gotten the hint and went your own way." The way Skye spoke, or at least how Yuki had understood, these attempts weren't uncommon. "Unless you've got some sort of death wish..." Then, a suggestion he'd have thought to be obvious. "Haven't you ever thought about fighting back?"

-----

Hitsu was quick to try and shush Poke, turning quickly away from the curtain, but it didn't seem to do much. "They probably wouldn't be happy to know we're spying on them, if they don't already..." She said in a whisper, looking back to the front just soon enough to see Hanse crushing the clay figurine with his bare hand. Either the clay was very fragile, or this guy was very strong. She continued to watch, awestruck when he used his magic to produce a ward of his own. "Ohh... Did you see that?" She whispered, "I've never seen anything like that before." She looked at Kitwana as Hanse offered the new figure to him. She wasn't sure what to expect, since this man had obviously proven himself to be better at the shop keeper's own trade.

Well, he'd certainly got what he'd asked for. A long moment passed in which he only stood there, staring toward the crucifix with a hidden envy. He tried his best not to show his slight irritation, but the silence and hesitation alone likely made it obvious. "Well, I suppose I was wrong." He finally replied, adverting his squinted gaze from the object. So, he might have had farther to go than he'd like to admit, but in his own travels he hadn't come across a ward any more powerful than his own. More often than not, they were simply being sold as nothing more than what the eye could see, with the unknowing buyer having nothing more than the false confidence that the item would keep them safe. But this... This one would actually work.

The foxen's gaze lifted to Hanse again, "It is, however, a bit unfair of you, Sir. To shun my wares, when I do the best I can. After all, your species is born with the power needed to manipulate this magic." He gestured toward the figure in the dragon's hand. "I am but a humble fox, and have no choice but to work in order to master my own techniques. My apologies, but my talents weren't handed to me quite so literally." The suggestion of studying it, though admittedly tempting, was insulting. Kitwana waved a hand absently, "I have no use for it, but if you believe one of the women would take it..." He trailed off, turning his back to Hanse to beckon them out. "I should continue my readings out here, anyway... Since it appears that in my absence, hooligans take it upon themselves to destroy my shop."

Skye spoke softly, "As much as I don't want him around, he's extremely useful." He paused briefly, debating on telling Yuki everything he knew, but decided to wait for the more interesting details to be needed, "As you know, he's an excellent fighter." His mind paused for a moment again, and then he held out his hand to Yuki, "By the way, my name is Skye Darkhawk, bard and fencer." He moved his hand a little bit closer, indicating he wanted to shake hands with Yuki to more formalize their meeting.

Hanse laughed, albeit briefly.
"You think that just because of my birthright I know these skills?" He rolled the cross into his fingertips, and flicked it in the direction of the doorway that hid the girls. The bottom of the cross embedded itself into the wood frame, and it vibrated visibly from the force. "I was taught nothing by my forsaken race. Everything I know is from the sweat and blood of battle and dedication." Hanse took a few steps toward the shopkeeper. "My skills are obtainable by one such as yourself. You must push harder than you already do." His eyes narrowed some, "If you encounter a wall, break it down and keep pushing forward. When you yield, you fail."
He looked around the shop a little bit, "And I wouldn't have knocked over the cabinet if you would have had things spaced out a bit more." Hanse's tail flicked lightly, "It's not very accommodating for those of us that are larger."

The dragon, at least Mitsu was convinced it was a dragon, seemed upset even angry now. He was intent to lecture the fox on the finer points of hardship that Mitsu herself didn’t understand, though it looked as if all of the words that were spoken were going in one fuzzy ear to only trail out the other. It was then that Kit turned toward them ignoring the dragon for the moment and looked straight at them.

When the shopkeeper beckoned them forward it was more than obvious they had been found out. Only slightly hesitant Mitsu went to comply with what she was told moving around Hitsu to enter into the shop. Pushing back the curtain with the back of her hand Mitsu paused to look at the crucifix embedded in the door frame. It was rather pretty, and it held her interest enough to want to reach out and grab it but at the last second something in her mind told her not to. Her mind told her that something bad would happen if she touched it so she quickly drew her hand away turning back to the shopkeeper with a tentative stare.

Moving on Mitsu seemed to drag her feet as she held her head low like a frightened animal allowing the others entrance into the room. Stepping off to the side Mitsu made sure to stay as close to Hitsu and Poke as possible incase something were to happen.

Poke wasn't sure were this was going at all. Her excitement from earlier had died down, and she watched the dragon's moves intensely. He didn't seem the friendly type, and part of her wondered if he was about to attack the shop-keeper.

Amazinly, the fox was still calm, talking to him as if he was just another rude customer. It was then that the dragon had flicked the magic item their way, and poke fell backwards with one arm covering her face. was he trying to attack us or what? oh well, it seems we're been found out at any rate...

Mitsu had already gone outside, so poke picked herself up and squeezed her way past the door. She then noticed the crucifix was still jammed in the door, a few splinters hanging off to the side. A sudden pulling sensation made her stop and stare at the object. In all cases it looked like an ordinary cross. But there was something else to it...

Cautiously, she reached out and placed her hand on the cross. She paused, half expecting to be eletrocuted by some unknown force, but nothing happened. poke then gripped the item gave a and good, hard tug. It came out of the door frame bringing a few peices of broken wood.

Turning around, poke faced the shop keeper and dragon, trying to look defiant and strong. Her mind didn't feel all that strong though; she could see mitsu was looking scared out of her wits, and she knew that dragons were no laughing matter.

"Useful until he decides to off you." Yuki added for him, using a quoting gesture with his fingers with 'off'. "It's really a gamble, but whatever tickles your fancy I suppose..." He shrugged lightly to the statement of his abilities in battle, though the light sneer on his face was enough of a gesture to agree. It faded a moment after, and he rose a brow at Skye's outstretched hand.

An introduction was obviously what he wanted, and Yuki complied with only a moment's hesitation. "Yuki... Guard, and uh, hunter." Humans, and their stupid professions. Making the simple things sound so worthless. Yuki took Skye's hand, to appear courteous more than anything, and gave it a firm shake. Yuki was halfway stunned with himself, for showing more than an inkling of civilized behavior around a human. Oh well, at least this one didn't seem too bad, and he certainly appeared to be the polar opposite of the dragon he traveled with.

-----

Hitsu had given a light shriek, startled as Hanse threw the ward toward them. Had he actually meant to hit them? She hoped not, and stepped out from the back quickly when Kitwana had motioned them to. She stared at the cross embedded in the wood until Poke had tugged it out. Hitsu was going to ask if anything felt strange about it, but apparently that wasn't the case since Poke was holding it easily enough.

Kitwana had turned, and quickly drew his head backward to keep the ward from catching his snout as it sailed past. Once facing the dragon again, he sighed lightly and furrowed his brow. Honestly, was this man planning to break everything in his shop? He listened intently to Hanse as he spoke, though his expression was neutral as not to suggest he held any enthusiastic interest.

"I'd like to think that I've done well enough in the years that I've lived, the mastered talent will come in time." What he didn't know was that Hanse was barely older than he, though in the same breath Kitwana had hardly ever encountered a need to fight for his life. Run, perhaps, but not fight. It was understandable that Hanse would have been so much farther ahead, especially when the foxen used his magic solely for trickery and profit.

At mention of his lack of space he looked from the ruined shelf, back to Hanse. "I suppose." He started, pausing briefly as the movement of the dragon's tail caught his eye. He had seen some interesting creatures in his time, but this one looked to be one of the most dangerous. The blades on that tail, he guessed, could cleanly open him from groin to skull in one swift motion. Perhaps he really aught to select his words carefully, lest he risk to find out. "That option is available now, as I'll clearly have to build a new one." He finished, referring to the set of shelves. He could build them shorter, though truthfully he could build them just the same and hope that the dragon never decided to grace the shop with his presence a second time.

When the guard came bursting into the Inn is was apparently already too late to leave, trouble had managed to arrive. Stepping back a bit as the guard step forward Neko pushed Riyo behind him. Humans were always such a bother. “Can’t say that we have.” Neko replied to the guard’s demanded question. He seemed fairly confident enough in his answer but whether the guard would believe him or not was up to debate.

----------------

Nervously Mitsu watched the shopkeeper and dragon converse for a while until her mind started to wander. Her gaze started to drift to the remaining items in the shop until they settled on a podium not far away. There appeared to be something sitting on top of it, so curiously Mitsu moved closer to investigate. Once she was close enough the object came into clarification, it was a deck of cards. The backs were rather elaborately decorated with symbols and scripts. Wondering what might be on the front Mitsu plucked one from a top of the podium to look but found it was blank.

That was rather strange, maybe it was just the top card? Picking up another Mitsu found that it was blank too. If they were blank what were they for? Mitsu had seen men in the lab play cards before and she was certain that there was supposed to be something on the other side. Though usually it was numbers or letters with pictures of royalty or shapes. How were you supposed to play games if there was nothing on the other side?

The young man stood out of sight, but he still listened carefully to what was going on. If the guard left now, he could go ahead and try to finish eating the stew. But that wasn't the only thing he listened for. If things broke out down there, he probably would have to make himself known to try and clean up the mess he brought in.

The guard stared down at the two that were closest to him. A hand rested on the hilt of his broadsword as he glanced around, not seeing the one he came here for, but he did notice the unattended bowl of food at the counter. Though, he still figured he could throw out something to the four that were in the room.

"If you see him, bring him in. You'll be rewarded quite handsomely in return."

After hearing that, the thief just hoped that the bartender or anyone else there didn't decide to try and get more wealth out of this whole situation by ratting him out.

[[ Did I just hear a CHA-CHING? xD ]]

Riyo scooted off behind Neko and clung to the back of his shirt with one hand, eating the rest of her sammich with the other. She wasn't afraid, just wondering what in God's name was going on. Her mind slowly pieced two and two together. That man had been running.. And this man.. MUST'VE BEEN CHASING HIM! She smiled proudly at her deduction.

But why was this man looking for him? Riyo looked back to where the tired man had been. Woah, he was gone! "Nyuuuuuuu..." Riyo said to herself in awe.

Atticus's eyes slowly moved toward the blowhard guard. So demanding. So brutish. Disgusting.

"Bartender, whenever you have a moment, could I please get a beef stew?" He asked politely, reaching in his coat pocket and laying a few pieces of gold on the counter. "It would be much appreciated."

As for the hiding thief with a bounty on his head, Atticus payed no heed to him. Money was of no real importance to him. He had what he needed, and what he needed was enough to suffice. He then looked back at the bartender. "Oh, and do you allow smoking in here?"

The bartender seemed to pay little mind to the guard that had entered. Apparently he was a little more honorable than most in his profession. When Atticus called his attention he gave a nod picking up the coins off the counter. “I’ll have your stew right away Sir.” About to step away the man had asked a second question to which the bartender nodded. “Yes, you are more than welcome to smoke.” Reaching under the counter the barkeep produced an ashtray that he placed in front of Atticus before he moved off into the back to retrieve his stew.

Curious Neko tilted his head a little. “Reward, huh?” Neko grinned. “How much of a reward are we talking about? I might just have to try a bit harder to find this guy.” Helping others in time of need, especially men, was not Neko’s strong suit. Gaining from the misfortunate, that’s where he excelled.
