"So much for that." Toshiro smiles a little.
"Shion!! Are you ok?" Ayane runs to Shion's side and helps her up.

" Hmm? About what?" her eyes were full of curiousity.

" seriously, shion, tell me..." She looked kind of worried.

" of course I can keep a secret." She smiled brightly. Then she returned to her worried look.

" I know what thats like... Mines, my own past. You see, she's only looking out for whats best for me. But she has a twisted way of thinking. She thinks that all humans are out ot get us and do things to us they would never do to themselves. Recently, it's been really hard to kep her under control. normally, I would be able to keep her controlled, no problem, but for some reason, the world outside the walls I've known all my life excites her, causing her to become stronger than before. " she looked at her hand. It had strange grooves in it.
" Can you keep a secret? If big brother found out, he wouldn't be able to control himself. When I was about 12, They had an accident. They were using me in a test. They were testing the strength of my vectors. For some reason, the trajectory was off a litle bit and when they shot the ball at about 300 jewls, it hit my hand and crushed it. At first, the pain was unbearable. Then, it slowly numbed. All of my fingers held on literally by the tendons in my crippled hand. They took me into surgery and fixed my hand, leaving these scars in my palm. And, I've almost been killed three times. One of those times was the same test. The ball had hit me in the chest and messed my diaphram up, almost collapsing my lungs... I could breath in, but not out. To fix me, they actually had to kill me for about 3 seconds. then brought me back to life. They've done horrible things to me. And not once have I left my cell. they would occationally open the doors, but they wouldn't let me out. tHay hardly fed me, and they would actually mock me from the speakers, saying how weak I must have felt." Tears started to well up in her eyes. " I don't want to go back..." She dropped to her knees. " Shion, I'm scared. If they find me, They'll take me back to the facility and do more experiments on me." Her hands covered her face as she started to cry.

Jon pressed the ignition button and the engine roared to life. Time to go...

He carefully untied the rope and tossed it into the small tool compartment.

"Ready?"

Ayane had her arms wrapped her arms around Shion, tears still in her eyes.

"Shion, is everything alright?" Toshiro asked her, looking at Ayane, kind of worried.

Jon looked over at Shion, then at the young girl next to her, then again at the other young man.

"Well, if that's all there is to it," he threw the lever into reverse, carefully guiding the boat out of the cove, "let's be off!" Once the boat was safely into open water, he sat down and fastened his seatbelt.

"Buckle up!" He pushed the throttle forward and the boat's front end launched into the air, the powerful V10 engine roaring in response. The wind rushing past Jon masked the high-decibel sound of the engine, and he concentrated very carefully on his next destination.
