I usually try and think of a character that can fit easily into the plot at the time, then build up around that. surprised

I think mine could fit well into the plot right now. I noticed a shortage of Purifiers. (Well, not shortage.. but I thought I'd balance it.)
It's all about what I make my character say and do that defines him in these first few posts. It establishes his appearance aside from the picture; his attitude, how he interacts, his traits, be it curiosity or anything, really. What I'm trying to set up now is a character who appears dark, and in fact is in his other form; but at the same time, while human, is inquisitive, capable of humor to some degree, and even sociable. The Purifiers, if had to be given a title, would be the bad guys in the story. I don't want a completely twisted villain, because that leaves my character too narrow to be much fun.
I find it can be hard at times to follow the plot exactly when I'm trying to do all this, and at the same time understand the plot beforehand. It's one of the bad points to my roleplaying.

I meant I usually create someone who can waltz in on the current circumstances/setting without too much trouble or doubt.

I'm actually curious to have Shale interact with a Purifer. Since she's netural, just recording events, I'm wondering if she'll have an opinion of what is happening.
It's always fun to get to know your character as they interact and see what happens. Sometimes they surprise you.

You're using the 'word' n00b wrong.
You should be saying 'newb', as in 'newbie'. A n00b is someone who acts retarded and/or new, like they have no idea what's going on. Or it's someone who just generally acts like an a**. I hate it when people get those mixed up.
