Iri shakes her head. A particular instance, one of her first impressions of Tutsumi, is coming back to mind. "Of what I'm thinking, you sure sparked a desired result, and you managed to generate a lot of bad feelings toward yourself from some of your peers in the process, but nothing good lasted. It doesn't make sense for one to work so hard for something that hasn't got a chance of going from a spark to a flame."
She readjusts her grip on the water bottles again, one wing even coming forward to nudge one into place. The condensation is making them slippery in her hold. "And, for the record, I'm not casting you aside. I don't do that. It's unwise to do that to anyone. And to prove I'm not, I'll even come to you next time I have a problem. Sound good?"
The girl turns around and starts walking toward the trees. One wing motions for Tutsumi to follow. If he wants to keep talking, she'll keep talking. It's been dull without anyone around for a good conversation. But, she also has to keep in mind what she wants to accomplish today. If she doesn't take care of this soon, she'll probably forget about it later.

Taking the wing's gesture in mind, Tutsumi follows after her at the same pace she is at. He tries to think back to the first time he met Iri, then sighed. Those were dark times indeed.
"Mmm, but many practices which I have set here are still in play. Though...I'm sure a lot more would be in use if we got that new blood we were talking about earlier."
He took a slow breath, felt his stomach grumble a bit in silence, and then looked back to Iri.
"I've always been looked at as the odd one, ever since my second death and when I was flirting with Nyl. Seph seemingly didn't like it...we fought a bit...I won easily. Up to this day I don't think he likes me. Then again that might have something to do with me removing Nyl as Shojiki from the Hikari Dojo...Neko's...well...Neko's just odd. He and I get along on a different level, we built the thir--wait...anyway...the most recent academy up ourselves. Saph and Mel are my sisters...by blood now...Reeve is my brother in kitsune heritage...though I'm unsure on his relationship with me. Um. Clow...wow...I don't think he likes me much anymore, he used to look up to me though. Ishira's my wife...and training the students I left behind when I removed myself from power over the GNA. And you...well...ever since the first day we met I don't think you trusted me too much."

Iri listened to Tutsumi, taking everything he said into consideration. On that last comment, she shakes her head again. "It's not that I don't trust you. I believe you have the best of intentions, and I believe you are trustworthy. At the same time, though, I know you're a powerful person that can be, well... Anyway, those thoughts are only based on what I've seen you do. And that's my opinion alone. And that opinion has a habit of changing."
The moment the trees close about Iri, she starts to look around. A thick bush catches her attention. She takes one steel tessen and nestles it between the branches. Then she starts walking again.

Sighing, he nodded and stretched. He gave a look at the bush from the side of his eye, waiting to see if anything would be wrong with it.
"True...and I hope they do change."

With a flick of a wrist, another steel tessen is tossed into the boughs of a tree. Iri's still listening to Tutsumi, even if it isn't obvious. She's just trying to multi-task. After tossing a wooden tessen down what appears to be an animal's den, Iri looks over her shoulder and says, "My opinion's already changed again. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Now, would you mind taking note of where I leave these things? I'm afraid I'll forget them if I don't have someone else helping me out."

Nodding to her response, Tutsumi smiled and continued to note where she placed the weapons.
"Uhh....sure? I have to ask, why are you putting them there though?"

"Instance: I'm walking around in the woods, for whatever reason, but forgot to bring a weapon. Some people keep them on hand out of habit. Personally, I have a tendency to forget things, so I don't always have a weapon. Some enemy approaches, and he or she does have a weapon. I could try hand-to-hand combat, but that's not always a good idea with someone who's armed. My idea is to plant weapons in random places, memorize them, and figure out a convenient way to get them in my grasp via kaze."
She shrugs and adds, "It's a shaky idea, but I'm gonna try to work with it. Only I'm afraid I'll lose my weapons if I try this on my own."
Iri crouches down next to a rock, lifts it up, and sets the other tessen down under it.

"Hmmm, what if it happens like this...an enemy comes into the area, finds some of your weapons and uses them against you? Remember, Iri, we're elemental shinobi...we fight with more than just our weapons and our bodies. If you want, I could give you a demonstration with myself as a regular person, who just so happened to find your weapons."
Backing off a little, Tutsumi turned slightly but waiting for the go to move back to the 'starting line'.

"That's another possibility, one that I had intended to work on later. I have to figure out how to negotiate the weapons out of tight places using kaze first. Otherwise, the whole idea is a fluke. Reaching down a rabbit hole or climbing a tree to get a weapon would take too much time in a fight."
Iri looks down at the rock, still crouching. Then she looks up at the sky. "What if I were to hide them somewhere else. I'm a kaze nin. Couldn't I figure out a way to keep them up in the clouds, past the point of visibility for most people?"

"Moisture is up there, corroding could happen..."
Turning back to face Iri, Tutsumi bit his lower lip as he started to wonder where all she could hide them, yet get them easily.
"Actually...if you rub the metal parts with certain gels...they could withstand the moisture and still be sharp to the touch. I have some in my lab at the Academy, wanna join me in getting it?"

"Sure! I'd appreciate it, Tutsumi."
Iri grabs the wooden tessen and hangs it back on her belt. She does the same with her other weapons, dislodging one tessen from a tree with a gust of air. Once she has them all, she starts toward the Academy.

Once back at the Academy, Tutsumi heads into the old Training Room. He places his hand against the back wall, feeling for the hidden panel which allows access. With a 'click' and a 'zzzzzmmmm' sound, a hidden door opened from the right side of where he stood. His lab, decorated with cob webs, seems almost like new...just...almost. Heading in, he grabs a container off of one of the shelves and hands it over to Iri; inside of it contained the gel he was speaking about.
"There ya go, Iri. Just smear it on the weapon fully and in about five minutes or so, it should be dry enough to put into the sky."

Iri holds up the container and examines it. The stuff doesn't look familiar, but she doesn't think that matters much, either. Shrugging her wings, she adds it to the water bottles still held in her arms.
"Thanks! Now, another question." She looks up at him and gives her head a tilt. "Got any advice on how I should keep these things in the air? I've got one idea, but getting it right is gonna take a lot of practice and energy."

"...My suggestion...hmm...composition...no...air tunnels...no...air balls...no...sprites...maybe...wait...consistent air channels using the Earth's natural drafting system. Think like this...the Earth uses the draft system, using pressure and what not to force air up toward the sky. This, actually, is how birds fly and can glide on the wind. If you create a loop in certain spots in the sky, you could use it to hold items in different places without much energy at all."
Tutsumi gave Iri and side glace, just to make sure she got all of that down. He wasn't completely sure she did...and if she did it wrongly it could cause a weather problem in the area.

Iri blinks. She blinks again. Then she points up and says with a comically flat expression and tone of voice, "I do not think it's a good idea for me to mess with the natural flow of things up there. First of all, I don't have that kind of experience. Second, Mother Nature can be a be-otch when you upset her."
She thinks on it a moment longer, then shakes her head and says, "I really oughta stick to the simple stuff. Air balls I can do. And it would do good as a training exercise to keep a few somethings up there for long periods of time. It's gonna be a pain in the a**, but it's worth a shot."
