Kyle_Rayner Streamjumper Kyle_Rayner 3.14 I had a hard time watching that episode of Teen Titans without thinking they were talking about me. "PIE PIE PIE!" Why o why did they make a Teen Titans anime without Impulse and Superboy?! gonk Because they're using the 80s lineup minus (for some reason) Wondergirl? And yet they market it (for some reason) to kids who werent even alive in the 80s? The writers and producers likely were. Also, it was a fairly solid team... Remember, they're doing a lot using very japanese concepts, like the 5 person sentai. One is the serious leader, another is the cute girl/love interest, another is the joker or smart guy, another is the big, strong dude, and the last is either the rebel or the dark one. Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven fit the roles nicely without too much overlap of powers.

I think it would have made the series a lot more popular. rolleyes Who needs Impulse when you have Mas y Menos! gonk crying I mean, I do like Teen Titans... but come on. Mas y Menos? You know what really bothered me about them? The fact that they couldn't speak English. I mean, it's an American cartoon. At least have them be able to speak the language. They were trying too hard to make racially diverse characters.

Remember, they're shooting for a show driven by action and drama, but with a heavy humor background... which the current team has a good setup for. They kept it unaffiliated with the existing DCAU for a reason.

They were trying too hard to make racially diverse characters. They were children; hyperactive, ADD-plaugued children intended as their team's comedy relief at that. They also seemed relatively new to the US at that.

They could have easily had Impulse take their place, but it was obvious that they were intended to make the team more racially diverse. I have no problem with a team being racially diverse, but when you make a character for the sole purpose of being diverse it ends up feeling very forced. But that's just my opinion.

That's my favorite cel of him and I've yet to find a better one. 3nodding (Profile shots don't seem to fetch as much money as full on face shots. Dunno why. I love a great profile shot!) whee heart Sorry... I slipped into cel mode. At least Mala will know what the hell I'm talking about. sweatdrop

I didn't get a racially diverse theme off them. I think they were shooting for a language known for being spoken quickly and still sounding humorous... and the super speed power maybe reminded someone of Speedy Gonzales. If they were concerned with diversity, I think we'd have seen more asian or latino characters by now. Besides, they seem to be trying to keep things to a limit of one junior character per team, and Speedy was Titan East's junior.
