Learning is only possible if it's fun. Find fun in what you're learning. I just choose to make sure that my "fun" isn't worthless, either.Quote: Playing this simple game is fun. Fun/joy is a very important aspect of learning processes; some would say it is meaningless, but it is the very thing that gives unquestionable meaning. If the fun and joy are gone, the connection between the learner and learned is gone; no matter how 'important' a subject is deemed by external standards. Look for fun in learning, for only that keeps it going forward. The schooling system has degraded the concept of 'learning', so for true and efficient learning look for situations where it's "just play". (Even 'mindless' shoot-'em-up computer games are efficient exactly because they are 'mindless': the mind acquires faster ways of thought rather than just standard linear thinking.)

I could not disagree with this idea more. I took a Domestic Violence class and learned a lot in that class and it was in no way fun. I would not call learning of how women and men are abused by loved ones fun. I would not consider walking out of that classroom feeling numb and drained fun.

Yeah...I couldn't see that being much fun...even if someone tried to make it that way... sweatdrop cry

It's not to say that "forced learning" is impossible, but much harder to be done if the person in question is not interested and / or having fun while attempting to learn it.

There is just a huge difference between being interested and having fun. Stating that "learning is only possible if it's fun" seems to state that unless you are having fun, you aren't learning something.
You could be interested in something but there is no fun in it, but you still learn. Like with that domestic violence class, I learned a lot and was really interested in the subject, but it wasn't fun having to fight tears the entire class.
