Cody smiled and took a sip. Still hot. He'd wait a little longer. It wasn't hot enough to burn his tongue but it was still too hot to drink comfortably.
"Alright," he said.

Dari smiled and leaned over to give Cody a kiss on the temple.
"Good. It's fun to do it from sight sometimes and not just memory. Memory can do funny things to a vision, even eidetic." As if on cue, he began recounting their conversations and coupling the night before. He forced it away. Sometimes his thoughts were clouded by bursts of memory. It had always been this way.
"I want pictures."

Cody smiled. "We'll take as many pictures as you like," he promised. He kissed Dari's cheek, then stole one on the lips.
"I love you."

He returned the kiss. "I love you too."
Sometimes he was reminded that forever wasn't really forever, but it always floated away. Cody was too pretty,, too perfect to dwell on the bad in life. He just kissed his temple and wrapped an arm around Cody, leaning his head against the teacher's as they stood.

Cody smiled, reaching to stroke Dari's hair. "I'm glad we had the night together," he said, happily. "Ready to hike?" he asked.

Dari nodded and put his mug back down at their campsite. He doused his own fire with the remaining coffee and then buried it. It had been in an odd sort of place, not their useful pit, because he had assumed they would be leaving it. He wasn't about to let their place burn, though.
"Come on," he said with a grin, reaching out for Cody's hand.

Cody took his hand and smiled. He was looking forward to this. He still couldn't believe his luck, that he'd met someone so awesome.

As the two walked, Dari mostly observed their surroundings. Familiar places were met with some disinterest, so on the way to their vantage point the alien began to hum to himself. He smiled, swung his and Cody's hand, and offered warmth in his eyes. Dari might be quiet sometimes, but he was always present.

Cody swayed their hands as they walked to the look out point. He looked at Dari and smiled. "Which flowers do you want to take?" He asked.

"I don't know. We can pick when we get back. I like the field pansies."
He wandered to the edge of the cliff and looked down. If he fell and the ring didn't come off, what would happen? Hm. He smiled and pulled his sketchbook from his pad and came back, plopping down on a rock. He gestured for Cody to go where ever he liked.

Cody considered what to do. Hmm...He went over to Dari and kissed his cheek before backing away. "What do you want to do after? Photos?"

"Yes," Dari said. "Sit down anywhere. Well, not anywhere. I still want to talk. STAND NAKED IN ONE POSITION FOR FOUR HOURS, LIKE A GOOD BOYFRIEND." Dari snickered and started flipping to an empty page.

Anywhere, huh? Cody went to Dari's rock and sat beside him, slinging an arm around him. "There," he said. I've got the best seat on the whole mountain."

Dari laughed. Well, that wasn't exactly what he meant, but it was a new angle, wasn't it? He turned his head left to see what he could of Cody and began to sketch.

"You're really talented," Cody admired, smiling at Dari. He'd given the guy a new angle and Dari was trying it. Really talented, smart, had a great job... Dari was all around impressive.
