NPC is so cold. Just because they arent the one youre most focused on doesnt make them any less distinct. Usually.
Mine are important to me usually. No killing off in one night if I can help it.

Because of the limited number of people who are online and who can join the guild, the necessary 'other' people must still be created and used to whatever end. For example, if Nelphean has a father who is feeling like he should act more like a father, and collects his wife and horse and came looking for Nelphean to try to patch up a relationship, but must accept that the young elf is somewhat nervous about accepting the elf who was only ever showed up when it was convient to him must wait until the child has digested the news with some certainty before making a lengthy visit. It doesn't mean that Nelfien is not around, in fact those villagers are wishing he was killed off by someone who could fight him, silly guns not effective on the magic armour, and where was I going with this...
People are needed to fill in mundane and unimportant everyday rolls just as much as we need good strong support characters designed to keep us alive.

But still, the rate at which you go through 'mundane' people, the planet will be depopulated. Keep in mind Az, we are among the mundane ourselves. I like to think there are exceptional individuals out there everywhere, not just our crazy magic characters.
And thats some powerful magic armor then: Regular swords can beat magic armor faily well if handled right; bullet is much more dangerous; this armor immune to bullet; armor unstoppable eek
