Jan lays down and wrestles in her sleep Moonlight spills on comic books And superstars in magazines An old friend calls and tells us where to meet Her plane takes off from Baltimore And touches down on Bourbon Street
We sit outside and argue all night long About a god we've never seen But never fails to side with me Sunday comes and all the papers say Ma Teresa's joined the mob And happy with her full time job

I've been downhearted baby, I've been down--I've been downhearted baby, Ever since the day we met Ever since the day we met I've been downhearted baby, I've been down--I've been downhearted baby, Ever since the day we met Ever since the day we met
Am I alive or thoughts that drift away? Does summer come for everyone? Can humans do as prophets say? And if I die before I learn to speak Can money pay for all the days I lived awake But half asleep?
Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do... Do do do do doo do...Do do do do doo do...
A life is time, they teach us growing up The seconds ticking killed us all A million years before the fall You ride the waves and don't ask where they go You swim like lions through the crest And bathe yourself on zebra flesh

Are these times contagious I've never been this bored before Is this the prize I've waited for Now with the hours passing There's nothing left here to insure I long to find a messenger
Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah, I run

Is there a cure among us From this processed sanity I weaken with each voice that sings Now in this world of purchase I'm going to buy back memories To awaken some old qualities
Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah, I run Yeah, I run
Have I got a long way Have I got a long way Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah, I run (Have I got a long way to run) Yeah, I run (Have I got a long way to run)

If I Had a Million Dollars
If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you a house (I’d buy you a house) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) I’d buy you furniture for your house (maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you a K-Car (a nice reliant automobile) And if I had a million dollars, I’d buy your love
If I had a million dollars I’d build a tree-fort in our yard If I had a million dollars you could help, it wouldn’t be that hard If I had a million dollars maybe we could put a little tiny fridge in there somewhere. “You know, we could just go up there and hang out.” “Like open the fridge and stuff, and there’d all be foods laid out for us like little pre-wrapped sausages and things. They have pre-wrapped sausages but they don’t have pre-wrapped bacon.” “Well can you blame them?” “Yeah.”
If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you a fur a coat (but not a real fur coat, that’s cruel) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you an exotic pet (yep, like a llama or an emu) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you John Merrick’s remains (all them crazy elephant bones) And if I had a million dollars I’d buy your love
If I had a million dollars we wouldn’t have to walk to the store If I had a million dollars we’d take a limousine ’cause it costs more If I had a million dollars we wouldn’t have to eat Kraft dinner “But we would eat Kraft dinner.” “Of course we would, we’d just eat more.” “And buy really expensive ketchups with it.” “That’s right, all the fanciest Dijon ketchups.”
If I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Wel I’d buy you a green dress (but not a real green dress that’s cruel) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you some art (A Picasso or a Garfunkel) And if I had a million dollars (If I had a million dollars) Well I’d buy you a monkey (haven’t you always wanted a monkey?!) And if I had a million dollars I’d buy your love
If I had a million dollars; if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars; if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars… I’d be rich!

I backed my car into a cop car, the other day Well he just drove off, sometimes life's ok I ran my mouth off a bit too much, oh what did i say Well you just laughed it off, it was all ok
And we'll all float on, ok And we'll all float on, ok And we'll all float on, ok And we'll all float on any way, well
A fake Jamaican took every last dime with a scam It was worth it just to learn some sleight-of-hand Bad news comes don't you worry even when it lands Good news will work its way to all them plans We both got fired on exactly the same day Well we'll float on, good news is on the way
And we'll all float on, ok And we'll all float on, ok And we'll all float on, ok And we'll all float on, alright Already we'll all float on Now don't you worry we'll all float on Alright already we'll all float on Alright don't worry we'll all float on
Alright already and we'll all float on Alright already we'll all float on Alright don't worry even if things end up a bit too heavy We'll all float on...alright Already we'll all float on Alright already we'll all float on, ok Dont worry we'll all float on Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on
Alright already we'll all float on (Alright) No dont you worry we'll all float on (Alright) All float on...

My love she throws me like a rubber ball Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing She won't catch me or break my fall Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing Baby’s got blue skies up ahead But in this I'm a rain cloud You know she wants a dry kind of love Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing
I'm losing you I'm losing you Ain't love the sweetest thing
I wanted to run but she made me crawl Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing Eternal fire, she turned me to straw Oh oh, the sweetest thing I know I got black eyes But they burn so brightly for her This is a blind kind of love Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing
I'm losing you Whoa haaa, I'm losing you Ain't love the sweetest thing
Ain’t love the sweetest thing (background) Ain’t love the sweetest thing (background) Ain’t love the sweetest thing (Bono) ________________
Ahhhh haaa haaaa Ahhhh haaa haaaa
Blue-eyed boy meets a brown-eyed girl Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing You can sew it up but you still see the tear Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing Baby's got blue skies up ahead But in this I'm a rain cloud Ours is a stormy kind of love Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing
Do do do do , do do do do(rest of group) Do do do do , do do do do(rest of group) Do do do do , do do do do(rest of group) Do do do do , do do do do(rest of group) Do do do do , do do do do(rest of group) The Sweetest Thing (Bono) Do do do do , do do do do(rest of group)

Why can't you be near? Never one would appear Where do we go from here, where do we go?
If the last one isn't there And it's all gone But if the last one wasn't there It'd all be wrong
Sometimes you turn around Sometimes you're lost but not found Where do we buy the day, when we go?
If the last one isn't there And it's all gone But if the last one wasn't there It'd all be wrong

Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness
Shootin' that life I'm trying not to laugh now You won't get money From doing what you're loving Moving out of city Better have a second chance Kicked a lot of problems We kicked a lot of them
Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness
Da da da da da da da da da, da da da da da......mmmm hmmmm...
Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness Can't stand your loneliness, no no your loneliness

When you're smoking tinfoil in the morning It's gonna be a cold day When you're keeping everything inside you It can only hurt you
Unrelated sounds The sun will shine again You hold it in your hands
This young land is a young land let it stay that way Its pollution only turns you into something you don't want to see in the water A reflection of them that you receive
You don't own the sun And the sun won't shine again So maybe you're all in love With Aluminium
The cling and a clang Is the metal in my head when I walk I hear a sort of, this tinging noise Cling clang The cling clang So many things happen while walking The metal in my head clangs and clings as I walk Freaks my balance out So the natural thought Is just clogged up Totally clogged up So we need to unplug these dams And make the the natural flow It sort of freaks me out We need to unplug the dams You cannot stop the natural flow of thought With a cling and a clang
And wake me up again until We're Aluminium You hold it in your hands The sun will shine again The sun will shine again The sun will shine again The sun will shine again The sun will shine again The sun will shine again

The feeling in Guts to the brain It means you got it coming and you ain't got a chain Their only attire Is a typical vice But if it gets you well, well you ain't being nice, no No!
So follow the lives Till they cut up your eyes You won't be even seeing if you ain't growing lies Then bought all the s**t That should never be sold They put a gun above it and a narrow behold
We are the happy landfill We are the happy landfill All right!
