"Yeah. As far as I know it's lunch with girlfriends and they bring you presents." Not that they really needed anything, having already been living together for quite some time. He took a sip of tea while Maia postulated.
"Everyone? I wish I knew their families; I'd just pay to fly them out here. I know Luca's parents were relocated and then booked it back to the woods. Who knows where they are now.

Girlfriends? Maia didn't really have any. Did Dari, Lori and Luca count? "An engagement party sounds better," she said. "Will we be making the cakes?" she asked.
Luca had mentioned writing his parents. But it was supposed to be a surprise.

"Do we want to make the cakes?" Toby asked. They certainly could, but they could also for a bakery to. It'd only mean a potentially prettier cake, though, and perhaps a little less stress. ...did he have any homophobic friends? Hmm... another thoughtful tea-sip.
"I don't think we need to pander for money, though. That's more for Jack and Jills..." Which they would presumably be having.

Maia considered it. Hm. Maybe not, they'd be bust with invitations and things... "Do you think the bakery in town could do them?" she asked. She hadn't tried their desserts before; but their muffins heaven!
"Jacks and Jills?" she echoed.

"Or what about that cupcake place?" Toby asked over the rim of his mug. He smiled.
"Well do you know what a bachelor or a bachelorette party is?"

"Oh, that'd work," Maia smiled. Those cupcakes were the best--after Toby's.
"Those?" Maia paused and shook her head. "I've seen movies?" Usually loud things with women popping out of cakes, and giggling women elsewhere. "Can we skip that?"

Toby laughed. "Do I look like the kind of guy who wants to go to strip clubs and get drunk?" He paused. "Don't answer that."
He finished off his cup of tea and set it on the coffee table. "We could just have a normal party at some bar or something, or we could even have it where we dance. They rent out for nights. I mean, it'd cost a pretty penny but nothing we can't handle. Oh, and a 'Jack and Jill' is a bachelor-bachelorette party hybrid. Everyone comes, guys and girls."

Maia didn't answer, but she did grin and look Toby up and down for a moment. She'd say no, really. But he'd been a stripdancer himself.
"We could do that," she agreed. "We should invite Annie."

"Sure. Annie and who ever else you want," Toby said with a smile. Wow, were they really talking wedding stuff? he was going to ignore that look Maia just gave him.
"We can have raffles and stuff. It helps with the cost of the wedding. I mean, to some extent. Do you know where you might want to have it?"

"Seamus is invited," Maia said, smiling. No doubt the cat sidhe would take offense if he wasn't invited.
"That would be fun. What'll be the prize?" she asked. "No idea. You have an idea?"

"He'll have to be." Clearly Toby shared Maia's thought pattern.
"We can see if places will donate gift certificates and stuff. I'm sure Dari would do some artwork. It won't be too bad." Here's my badge, give me free stuff! Hah. No, no. It was times like these that having many friends and connections was helpful. "And booze. I mean, people buy tickets to help. The prizes are just a bonus for helping." He had been to a couple in his time, and that was how it had always been with him.

"We could do a basket of baked goods," Maia suggested. She kissed Toby's cheek. "Muffins and things." Cookies, maybe. She was getting tired, and her train of thought was losing it's ability to stay on track.
"Where do you want to go for our honeymoon?" Where would a man who'd gone everywhere want to vacation?

"Sure," Toby said with a nod. He wasn't sure if anyone had ever done that before, but it could be worth a try. And a movie-time basket maybe. He knew Dari and Cody and Luca and Lori watched a lot of movies.
"I don't know. How about you? Would you like to see some place tropical?"

Maia paused at the question and seemed to consider it. Tropical areas tended to mean warm waters, and warm waters meant brighter colored fish and things that tended to eat smaller things--specifically sharks.
"Could we see dolphins?" she asked, instead of raising her concern.

Toby nodded. "If you want to go to a resort I'm sure they can connect us with a dolphin encounter, or if you want to see them in the wild we can go on a tour.
