Ketsu smiled as he watched them. He'd get up when he saw them sleep and then picked them up making sure not to wake them having shadow in Jinxy's arms and her in his arms. He'd then walk them home his smile never dissapearing.

Reeve rose from the shadow of a tree and took a deep breath. Shortly after Kain also rose from the shadow, but it did not seem interested in anything around the area. "You know, Kain." Reeve said as he smelled the air. "Sometimes I wonder if I am more like a cancer than a cure in this world. I kill people and harm my friends to get what I want... yet what I want is for people to actually live life with their own." Hhe sighed and moved the hair from his face, his blindfold dripping with blood from his eyes. "I am... confused."

The night was cool and lonely. Wandering aimlessly through the night, she was surprised to find there was another out on this evening. However, as distance remained, it became obvious that she knew whose presence was there. Leaning up against a tree, she wanted to hide, though she knew that hiding herself visually was silly, since the person near was not able to see. Because of what happened the last time they saw each other, she feared he would not want her around.

Reeve did not notice that someone was about, he was too distracted with pondering his own meaning for existance. This question had been bothering him since last night wehn Ziven got hurt.
"Perhaps, master, it is because you become too attached." Kain said suddenly. It put a dark hand upon the blind-man's shoulder as he spoke. "the only people you kill are the ones that do harm to the world... and your friends get hurt because of it. Perhaps if you... pulled away from your friends you would not have to know they suffer."
Reeve was silent for a moment as he ran this new thought through his head. It would make his life lonely... but he could handle being alone, could he not?
"Besides, I am sure that no one would miss you. You have but few people, and they have others. They will be able to survive without you."

Overhearing the conversation between Reeve and Kain, she felt saddened. She pressed herself against the tree as if it could comfort her. Thinking things through, she decided she had to at least try to speak to him. Rolling around the edge of the tree, she kept leaning on it and faced the pair. "Survive .. yes. But remember also. One does not forget their friends simply because death parts them."

"No, but time and people allow you one to forget even the most memorable things..." Reeve said absent mindedly. Suddenly he snapped into reality and turned to where Ziven was. There was no smile on his face, but there did seem to be some sadness. The blood on his blindfold had already begun to dry. "How... are you feeling?" He asked her.
Kain turned to the two, then sank into the shadows.

"Sad." she said simply as she closed the distance between them. She could see now that there was dried blood from his eyes. Blue eyes looked upon him with worry. "My friend is hurting and I am helpless."

Reeve tilted his head a bit. "People hurt sometimes, and they must deal with it on their own." His voice was rather emotionless, though his face seemed to get a bit more sad. "Besides, I have dragged you into my affairs enough..."

"I am alone in this place also." she knew it was bold but she wanted him to know she was sincere. Since he could not see body language, she would need to show him. For the first time in her life, without permission, she moved herself forward and wrapped her arms around Reeve. She had hugged others in return before, had initiated handshakes and other forms of mild contact, but nothing at this level. It lasted only a moment before she loosened her hold on him and hung her head in apology. "It does not mean we must hide ourselves away from everyone every minute of the day."

Reeve blinked, slightly confused. He had never really been hugged, even by his parents before they died. He had no problem hugging people, but people hugging him felt a little bit... off. Despite on that he put his arms around her and hugged her back, just before she pulled away. "So... does this mean you like me or something?" He joked as he tried to hold in a laugh. Reeve had never like the feeling of sadness, so he tried to lighten the mood between them.

"Like?" she asked, not understanding what he meant. She pondered for a moment and continued with her reply. "Well, I would like to think we are friends. I-if .. if that is acceptable. I .. am afraid I do not know under what terms that friendship is accepted by others. All I have learned is that it is something that cannot be asked for but is earned over time." she felt ashamed to admit this, though she was not entirely sure why. It seemed to her that all other people had made and often lost many friends over the years, where she quite literally had less than a dozen people she had ever considered to be friends.

Reeve laughed a bit, she had not gotten the meaning of what he said. Gently he put his hand on her shoulder. "We are indeed friends, Ziven. There is no reason to think that we are not." He smiled at her as he tilted his head. "And you have earned it. I have told you things I have told but two others... some things, that is. My friends have been few and far between though..." His smile faded for a fraction of a second, then returned. "I am not used to it too much."

"My apologies for forgetting. It feels .. unnatural to have friends other than my master, basically." she said softly. A thought ran past her, something was bothering her. She did not truly wish to ask, but she very much wanted to know. "Well .. I was unable to help you read the parchment you had the other night and I wish I had been able to. Though what I wanted to know .. she paused, inhaling deeply, feeling that her cheeks had gone pink. "When I .. became overwhelmed .. by the magic residing in the parchment did .. did you prevent me from falling on the floor?"

"I know how you feel..." He said at her first comment. Reeve shook his head a bit. "You did what you could, and I expected nothing more than..." He paused after her question. "Yes, I did..." Was all he said. The bloodied blindfold was beginning to bother him, so he took it off. Once the blindfold was off blood slowly started to run down his face. He was still bleeding, but that fact didn't seem to bother him at all.
